00:00We're here with Ray. I mean, wow, we're literally now in the thick of escapism winter.
00:06And I mean, to be able to get this recognition to to be at the Grammys, you've been at this
00:10game forever. What's it like being here and being justified for your work?
00:14Oh, girl, I'm just completely honored more than anything. You know, I know how many incredibly,
00:19ridiculously talented musicians that are who, you know, are striving for this opportunity.
00:24I know what it means to even be able to attend. It's a big, really big deal to me,
00:28to say the least. I've just been feeling emotional all day just with just gratitude
00:32and just like what is happening. Just trying to take it in as well.
00:36I got to tell you what, your dress looks amazing. I just have to say that.
00:39Thank you so much.
00:40Also, you're in the category Best New Artist with all these amazing other new artists as well.
00:43I know.
00:44It's stacked, girl.
00:45I know.
00:45So have you met everybody in the category? And how do you feel about your other nominees?
00:48I have met quite a few. I've met Sabrina.
00:53Lovely, lovely gal.
00:55Dochi, love her.
00:58Chapel sent me flowers.
00:59Stop it.
01:00That's beautiful.
01:01I've never met her, but how lovely is that?
01:03That is so lovely.
01:04Like a card and everything.
01:05It's just so nice because I feel like this year especially,
01:08we're seeing some real girl power at the Grammys.
01:10And you've been a major advocate for female songwriters, female artists.
01:15I mean, how does it feel now being among this?
01:18Chapel's sending you flowers. You're meeting Sabrina.
01:20It's like immense in girl pop power.
01:23Oh, and I love it.
01:24I think that's a really beautiful thing as well because it's so funny.
01:27When I started coming up in the industry, I was like 17.
01:29Okay, years ago.
01:30When we say coming up, we're talking like, you know, ant steps.
01:35But it was so competitive and it was so like,
01:38you know, the opposite of how it feels in this moment.
01:41And I really love that, you know,
01:42there's genuine love and support between the girlies.
01:45It makes me feel really honoured and really proud.
01:47And also just, you know, just a sense of joy for everyone here
01:50who's going to be winning, taking those awards.
01:52Also, we know what it takes to get here.
01:55It's a lot of grass.
01:57Yeah.
01:57How does it feel specifically being at the Grammys?
01:59Because I remember hanging out with you at the AMAs.
02:01And like the Brits, you obviously racked it up there.
02:05So to come to America and have the same recognition, is that different for you?
02:09I think, you know what?
02:10I think imposter syndrome is definitely real.
02:12Do you know what I mean?
02:13But that's just life.
02:14Yeah, tell me about it.
02:15I mean, you can't be here.
02:16I'm like, I'm looking at the seating plan and Lady Gaga's like there.
02:19I'm like, what am I doing here?
02:20You know what I mean?
02:21So there is that.
02:22But I think I'm just grateful, you know, and it's a lifelong dream.
02:27So to even be here today, it's just so surreal.
02:30I'm going to be the last of many, many, many and first of many, many to say
02:34this is long overdue.
02:36So well-deserved.
02:37I'm so happy you're here and excited to see you at many more.
02:40Thank you so much.
02:41Congratulations, Ray.
02:42You're the best.
