00:00Happy birthday to you, that's right. You have to eat this before your performance now.
00:08And we'll film you, and we'll film you the entire time you're eating it.
00:12Happy birthday Shakira, thanks for chatting with Billboard.
00:15This is so nice, I'm gonna take it.
00:17You can, give it to someone on your team and you can pretend you ate it, okay?
00:21I can do that performance on stage and then I'll eat it.
00:24Yes, yes, you can enjoy it after. I mean, what a special night, what a way to celebrate your birthday.
00:28How does it feel being here?
00:29It feels great. You know, five years today, I was at the Super Bowl.
00:33So it's like, all these amazing events happened, happened to happen on my birthday.
00:37And I mean, let's talk about the Super Bowl. That was a big first, obviously, that year for you and JLo.
00:42Now it's a first for Kendrick Lamar, being the first rapper to just headline by himself.
00:45How do you, what advice would you give to him?
00:47Um, sorry?
00:49What advice would you give to Kendrick Lamar, his first time at the Super Bowl this year?
00:52Oh, this year? He's gonna be at the Super Bowl this year?
00:54Oh, okay, I didn't know.
00:55Well, now you're breaking it to Shakira, hello.
00:57I don't have to give him any advice. I mean, he's a pro, he's amazing.
01:00One of the most amazing writers out there, and yeah, I can't wait to see it.
01:05You have paved the way for so many young Latin artists, pop artists.
01:09What advice would you have for the young women that are here tonight, hoping for a Grammy?
01:14Um, you know, something that Gloria Estefan told me once. Enjoy it, because it doesn't get easier, but it does get better, you know?
01:24So, you just have to do what you have to do, and it's just like, just live in the moment and enjoy it, you know?
01:30Sometimes we worry too much.
01:32And something I love about your fans and your music is that they get inspired by you.
01:36You took, like, a hard time and you made Bizarre Rap, and the women are like, yes, yes, yes.
01:39So how does it feel to channel so many women in the world?
01:42Uh, you know, one of the greatest things about writing music and, yeah, making songs is that you feel that it doesn't, it heals you.
01:52It has this therapeutic effect on your life, but it also helps other people, too, you know?
01:58Music can sometimes be the soundtrack of people's lives.
02:01And, yeah, I experienced it firsthand, you know, after that song came out, how people in the industry would approach me and share their stories with me.
02:11And I would feel that I wasn't alone, you know?
02:13There were people like me who were going through similar situations, and that felt represented in some sort of way.
02:21Well, you're never going to be alone.
02:22Yeah.
02:23Make sure you check her out on tour.
02:24She's already sold so many tickets.
02:25One million tickets.
02:26Yes.
02:27That's insane.
02:28So have fun out there.
02:29Congratulations.
02:30Thank you so much.
