00:00I do not support a third runway at Heathrow airport. There are three main reasons I've got concerns about a third runway and I oppose a third runway.
00:08The first one is noise pollution. This is one of the biggest conurbations in Europe.
00:13The numbers of people affected by noise with just two runways is more than the number of people affected by noise in Paris, Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Madrid put together.
00:26I'm concerned about the impact on air quality. We've made huge progress in London reducing air pollution. Heathrow is one of the most polluted parts of our city when it comes to air pollution.
00:36And the third big reason I've got concerns around a third runway is the impact on our climate change targets that are binding that we've set.
00:46I'm a pro-growth mayor. We've helped create more than 330,000 jobs in London.
00:51We've supported more than 10,000 small businesses over the last few years. I'm really pleased we're the number one city of destination for foreign direct investment.
01:00So I support the government's growth agenda. I do not support a third runway at Heathrow.
01:04I'll continue standing up for London, standing up for those communities, standing up for sensible growth policies.
01:10Let's wait and see the plans Heathrow come up with. But if Heathrow do publish plans for a third runway, we'll examine them carefully.
01:16And if they don't address the concerns that I've highlighted in the past, we will use any recourse we have to challenge those.
