We’re asking people around Cardiff for their thoughts on the Welsh accent, and whether they think we’re pre-judged for it. Some say that it’s one of the most trustworthy, but we can definitely agree it’s lush.

00:00I think that apparently a statistic says that people with Valleys accents are the most trusted
00:06accents in the whole of the UK. So I think it swings both ways really. I think that anyone
00:11who judges someone on their accent is really living in the past really. And most normal
00:17people generally don't judge anybody by their accents, I'd hope, you know.
00:21I've got an angle. I was in the RAF. I used to talk to aircraft on the RT a lot. And they
00:27reckoned an Edinburgh accent was quite acceptable. A Welsh accent was acceptable as well because
00:34of the pitch of it, as long as you weren't too incoherent. So that's from the RAF going
00:41back now to National Service Day, so... Yeah, we do hear quite a lot of Welsh accents.
00:47I mean, to me, I love the accent, so... I don't think there's anything wrong with
00:52a Welsh accent except, like everything else, it's an expression of the person using it, isn't it?
