Are you proud to be Welsh?

With a recent survey finding that pride in Britishness is at an all time low, we ask the people of Cardiff whether they’re still proud to be Welsh.

00:00I really feel everywhere you go, you know, the Welsh always appreciate the Welsh and

00:06you know you're going to be alright whenever you're with a Welsh person.

00:09As a culture it's all mixed, like all different cultures come together and there's no either

00:18one or different or one or the same, we're all just in there, moulded together.

00:26I mean the Welsh have got, well I'll say this with a broad statement, but the Welsh are

00:30generally liked aren't they in the UK really?

00:34Yeah just because there's so much like cultural ethnicities, like diversity and there's so

00:39much to learn about others and I feel like Wales in particular is like a sweet spot to

00:47learn about the world in Wales because it has so much differences in the world, like

00:54so much differences in a small space.

00:56I'd say I'm more proud to be Welsh than proud to be British to be honest because you know

01:00everybody in Wales loves each other, it's just a great place to be, whereas I think

01:04Britain sort of lets the rest of the UK down, sorry England and sort of other places let

01:09the UK down.

01:10I've got a couple of friends who went to Cardiff Uni, came from England, one of them had an

01:15amazing experience and the other one said he felt Welsh people were a bit racist towards

01:20English people.

01:21But I've lived in England and I've never experienced any racism there, but yeah no I think the

01:26Welsh, you know, we're leading the way on a lot of things aren't we?

01:30Yeah definitely, yeah I hope the language doesn't die out and stuff, I don't know it

01:36very well myself but yeah I think it's a good thing to have, yeah so yeah.

01:43Welshness is always typically associated with working class people, yeah, down to earth

01:51sort of people and you go anywhere in Wales you can talk to people, other parts of the

01:57country you can't.
