00:00Prime Minister Datuk Shri Anwar Ibrahim told the media on Friday that his working visit
00:07to the United Kingdom had attracted 11 billion ringgit in potential investments.
00:13He said companies and the British government had indicated their commitment for the investments
00:18across various sectors, including automotive, renewable energy, banking, real estate and
00:24petrochemicals.
00:26He said the export potential to be generated over the next five years will amount to 500
00:32million ringgit, encompassing, among others, aircraft equipment, furniture and food and
00:38beverages.
00:39He said this development reflects the confidence that companies have in Malaysia's economy.
00:44During his five-day trip to the UK, Anwar met with captains of the industries and representatives
00:49of companies in a roundtable and attended the Invest Malaysia event and business discussions
00:55with several companies.
00:56On another matter, Anwar said Japan had invited Malaysia to co-chair the Conference on Cooperation
01:02Among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development, focusing on the reconstruction
01:07of Gaza.
01:09He said the cost of rebuilding Gaza, which has been destroyed due to Israeli attacks
01:14since October 2023, is estimated to be over US$1 trillion.
01:20He said such a substantial amount was required because key facilities like mosques, schools,
01:25hospitals and homes had been demolished.
01:28After his trip in the UK, Anwar will visit Belgium for two days, beginning on Sunday.
01:34The trip is aimed at deepening Malaysia's bilateral relations with Belgium and the European
01:39Union.
