Transcript
00:00So just over 72 hours from their last appearance here at St James' Park, Newcastle United are back, this time in Premier League action.
00:07Of course, Sunday they defeated League Two Bromley in the FA Cup, and today will be a bigger challenge for them as they welcome Wolves to St James' Park.
00:14Now, of course, Wolves have enjoyed a little bit of a renaissance under Avito Pereira as manager.
00:18You know, only lost one in five games, so they're going to be tough opponents.
00:21The games against Wolves are always quite close, even when Newcastle last cup season finished above them, they always give them a good game, Wolves.
00:28And yeah, it'll be a difficult game for Newcastle, but they come in with plenty of confidence.
00:32You know, nine, potentially it'll go nine wins in a row, eight wins in all competitions.
00:35They've won five in a row in the Premier League, so that's a brilliant record, and a record any team would like to take in any game.
00:41But particularly Newcastle at home, you know, Wolves tonight are going to be difficult opponents, but they'll fancy their chances.
00:46They'll fancy a chance against anyone, particularly tonight.
00:49Alexander Isak could return, Sven Bottmann, both of them missed the match against Bromley on Sunday.
00:54That was obviously just through them being rested.
00:56So hopefully them two can come back to, you know, the start of the XI today and really show what they add to that.
01:03Obviously, the one big thing for Eddie Howe is where he goes, whether it's Fabian Scheer or Sven Bottmann.
01:07You'd assume Dan Burns pretty much undroppable at this point, so whether he picks between Scheer and Bottmann is obviously the issue there.
01:12But that's his only real section dilemma.
01:14I think the midfield three will be Tonali, Joe Linton and Bruno Guimaraes, with Jacob Murphy, Alexander Isak and of course Anthony Gordon up front.
01:21Martin de Bravca probably going to retain his place in goal.
01:24So yeah, I think Eddie Howe's only got one major decision to make and he'll be hoping he can get a response and get this crowd up.
01:29With, you know, coming to games on a weeknight, everyone remembers that West Ham game on a Monday night.
01:34You come into games full of confidence and you can sometimes, you know, underwhelm.
01:38So if they can get an early goal and get the crowd up, I don't think they'll have too many problems tonight, but it will be a tough game.
01:42And if Wolves can get an early goal, especially then with Matthias Kuhner back from his suspension, you know, Wolves will feel up for it.
01:48So yeah, big match tonight at St James' Park.
