00:00The Pacific Palisades fire that many believe began from a backyard spark grew into a fire
00:06around 10.30am Tuesday last week.
00:09By 12 noon, the Santa Ana winds had fanned and spread the flames into a raging inferno
00:16that caught everyone, and I mean everyone to include the first firefighters at the scene
00:20by surprise.
00:22The 50 to 60 mph winds whipped up monster tongues of flames that engulfed houses, property
00:28and anything that stood in its way, raising four football fields a minute during the apex
00:35of its spread, experts say.
00:37By midnight, some 4,000 acres, to include scores if not thousands of prime real property,
00:43had burned to the ground, and on the other side of LA County, there was the Altadena
00:50fire that began six hours after and put the community under extreme fire assault and apocalyptic
00:56conditions at the height of the fire spread.
00:59But this time, California firefighters, with more time to prep and invaluable help from
01:04Arizona, Texas, Mexican and even Canadian firefighters, are much better equipped to
01:10face this next wind-fueled fire episode, as weather experts and service agencies predict
01:16any time today.
