00:12Meralco in F.C. Tuazon, Pateros City carried out anti-dangling and illegal wire attachment operations for the safety of the public and as a preparation for the upcoming election.
00:23We make sure that our facilities are ready for any eventuality.
00:27We are prepared for the election preparation which is actually ongoing during the actual elections and even post-elections.
00:41We are aware of what we need to do in terms of ensuring power supply especially in polling prisons and in canvassing centers.
00:52The Department of Energy Secretary Rafael Otilia said that the country will not experience a severe power outage in the summer if the election month is correct in May.
01:02Meralco is continuing to assist local government units to fix spaghetti wires.
01:08Sometimes there's a fire. So in fixing this, I think we can avoid the so-called fire that comes from the poles and cables.
01:21I think it will be very low. We might have a zero fire in our town.
01:28The electric company is aware of the illegal wire attachment.
01:33Under the law, we are authorized to go after those who have illegally installed their facilities and especially those who have illegal service connection.
01:44That is a violation of Republic Act 7832 which is a criminal liability.
01:49Meralco agreed to go through a legal and proper process in fixing the wire and to coordinate with the LGU.
