00:00Let me ask you this on the Steelers, right? Because it is not the end-all be-all, but if on one side of the field, we have a quarterback who we say, ah, playoffs are starting, I'm a little concerned, right?
00:15Can't, to some degree, the Steelers go, we have a Super Bowl champion going at it for us here today?
00:21I think that's the thought, right? That's the thought. But, I mean, has he played like that?
00:25Not at all. But, again, Lamar has played like the gift of the quarterback position, and today you're going to hear a lot of people wonder what he's going to look like.
00:33So, and I'm not telling you that it's all of a sudden you're going to think that Russ is in Seattle, but, I mean, Donnie, isn't a part of the reason that you said they needed to go to Russell Wilson was for a game like this?
00:45To have what you feel is a real, true quarterback that you could actually play football with in the postseason?
00:52Not even a game like this. Just to have an offensive structure that says, hey, it's third and eight. I can give my guy one-on-one coverage on the outside, and my quarterback's going to give me a chance to make a catch.
01:01Something that, that floating ball that you see that wideouts love.
01:04Wildcats don't like that Justin Fields throw a rocket every single pass with no arc under it.
01:08That's why they put him in there, and it looked like it was working for a while, but I don't know if it's just like, hey, you know what?
01:13We saved up this game for Russell Wilson to throw 40 times, even though that's probably the only way they can win this game.
01:19But the one thing I do want to see out of Russell Wilson, it's not so much I need to be the elevated passing game.
01:23Make plays with your legs, man. When we get to the playoffs, I change the mode on quarterbacks, because I'm always under the belief, week six, seven, eight, and nine.
01:31Hey, look, you get out of the pocket, you get down right away. In the playoffs, you don't do that.
01:34It's third and eight. You're not sliding at seven. Ah, we got 16 games left to go in the season.
01:38No, you might not have it tomorrow unless you get that first down.
01:41I need Russ to win with his legs tonight as much with his arms, because we look, Joe, at Lamar Jackson.
01:47You know he's a big game runner. If he needs to run 14 times tonight, he'll run 14 times tonight.
01:51But I need to see, I don't even see him beat Lamar in the pocket. I just need him to see him beat him.
01:56You know what? Let me hang around with you in the passing game. Let me get close to you in the rushing game.
02:00That's all.
02:01Sustained drives. 14 and a half is Russell Wilson's total today. 27 he got in the blowout loss on the road last time.
02:0834-17, I checked during the week. So he rushed, I believe, three or four times for 27 yards.
02:14I think the first time they played in that lower scoring game, I think he rushed over his total as well.
02:19So again, we talk about it. Sustaining drives. When the game is on the line, doesn't matter if it's a high scoring game, low scoring game.
02:26When your team has a third and eight, third and six, can you tuck it and run to keep that momentum for your team going?
02:32Because again, you start going three and out, and that defense is out there four minutes, five minutes, extended periods of time.
02:40Just a matter of time before Derrick Henry or Lamar Jackson exploit you with the rushing attack.
02:45Hold on. Let me ask you a quick question on this, too, because I know we always talk about the two quarterbacks.
02:48And I go back to New England when they cut Cam Newton. I'm like, boy, that would have been perfect with Mac Jones.
02:52Is today not the day? And me being a Russ backer, per se, saying, you know what? He's got to play the majority of the game.
02:58Why isn't Justin Fields in the red zone today? Because the over-touchdown prices for Russ make sense at that price.
03:04I wouldn't bet it. Russell Wilson to score a rushing touchdown, I wouldn't bet it.
03:07Because if I'm being smart in the room, first and goal at the five, he's out of the game and Justin Fields is in.
03:12Let me go right back to you. Why wasn't Arch Manning in the game in terms of the red zone?
03:16But I'm just saying these coaches out think themselves.
03:21We sit at home at that, and you watch it from the game last night, first and goal, like, hey, Arch would have got that in.
03:25I'm going to watch the same game. I don't care what the score is and go, why did they just throw a pass on third and four from the four with Russ in the pocket?
03:32Why aren't you just hammering that football? Because you know, if that's a read option, that's a touchdown for Justin Fields.
03:37Why aren't we doing this?
03:39Yeah, I will say this. If you are Pittsburgh, embrace that you are a gimmicky football team.
03:48You are lucky to be here. But you will be lucky to win this game.
03:54Yeah, status quo doesn't win for the Steelers tonight.
03:57Like Donnie, I know it would be nuts. Run two quarterbacks all game.
04:01And I don't mean like the old Notre Dame, like we're going to flip.
04:04No, I'm talking about every possession, put them both on the field.
04:08If they don't even know who's going to throw the football.
04:10Listen, you might be like, what did we just watch?
04:13Fields a tailback. Get me out of that.
04:15Hold on.
04:16Let's go.
04:17Again, we're slightly joking.
04:20They hand the football off like this to Justin Fields and then he stops and throws one.
04:24They might score 100 points in this game.
