00:00In Paglao-Buhol, the water shortage is a problem.
00:05That's why they poured water in the bathrooms first.
00:08This is what their water supplier explained in Ian Cruz's report.
00:15Crystal clear waters and white sand beaches
00:19are the well-known attractions of Paglao-Buhol to tourists.
00:25But in Paglao-Buhol International Airport,
00:28where 2 million passengers are accommodated every year,
00:32the water shortage is a problem.
00:34There's no water there since December 17.
00:37That's why they pour and clean their bathrooms
00:41manually from the water tankers outside.
00:45This problem was discussed in an emergency meeting
00:48of the Buhol Provincial Government,
00:50Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines or CAAP,
00:54and other officials and the water supplier at the airport, Richley Water.
00:59According to the CAAP, Richley Water has a problem
01:02because they don't have water supply.
01:04This is a good and immediate solution
01:07because this is an urgent situation.
01:10I, personally, and the CAAP that I represent,
01:16don't want this to happen.
01:19We are making arrangements for the provincial government
01:24to find ways to solve it,
01:25while CAAP is also finding a more permanent solution to the problem.
01:30What we want is immediate.
01:32According to Richley Water,
01:34they have enough supply of surface water
01:37for Paglao-Buhol International Airport.
01:40They continue to supply water to the surrounding areas.
01:43In 2012, they bought 43 hectares of land
01:48that has surface water
01:50to provide continuous water supply
01:52to critical infrastructure
01:55like Paglao-Buhol International Airport.
01:58But they faced political challenges and delays.
02:04Despite this, they remain committed
02:07to providing clean water to their consumers.
02:11But they need the support of the national and local government.
02:16Ian Cruz reporting for GMA Integrated News.
