00:00My character's name is Avinash Patwardhan and this is the character of an army intelligence officer.
00:13It is very layered, complex and the story is also very layered.
00:19There are multiple things happening in the film but its impact is somewhere on this character and it is very strong.
00:28The character's normal life, the life of a common man, if you look at it from that perspective,
00:37Anuja is opposite me in this film.
00:42So how that impact comes on the family, on the people of the family.
00:48And the belief system of an officer, to what extent it goes to break that belief system.
00:59So there are so many things and I had the opportunity to do a lot of things in the same character.
01:04Because as I said, the army intelligence officer works by hiding his real identity in the field.
01:12So there are so many things, I think Kedar will tell you in detail.
01:22So like he rightly mentioned, improvisation is everyone's fundamental right.
01:29Everyone does improvisation and I am a very open minded person when it comes to taking any suggestions.
01:38I don't have any insecurities, they all used to come with the improvisation.
01:43Can we do this, this way? Will it sound better?
01:47And I have always kept things open as long as the screenplay is not getting hampered or shifted.
01:55Because I believe that once you lock the screenplay on the table, it should not move.
01:59Because that is what you worked for, for so many months, days.
02:04So many improvisations and his character is very interesting in the film.
02:09Every character is very layered, not just one dimensional character.
02:12Especially Vinit sir's character is very multi-dimensional.
02:23He brings a lot of comfort for the director.
02:28Because of his knowledge and expertise and experience for all these years.
02:34The way he has been working with so many great directors, legendary directors.
02:40And each time you work with any new technician or director or any person, you learn a lot.
02:48He keeps learning. Learning never stops with him.
02:52That is what I have noticed and observed.
02:55So he brings a lot of that experience of yesteryears into his current film and scenario.
03:02So I would say it is a blessing for any director to have such a star cast.
03:06Not only Vinit sir, but all my actors are very senior and experienced.
03:11They all made me very comfortable.
03:14But I had maximum amount of time to shoot with him.
03:19So obviously my chemistry was with him. It's really different.
03:23We were just husband and wife.
03:31I would say, I always say that an army officer or any officer in the armed forces.
03:41Their family is as good as a patriot.
03:48Because every moment, every second, they support them.
03:55And they are prepared. They are prepared for anything and everything.
04:01So I think this patriotism that comes out of the family,
04:06it gives even more strength to the officers who are actually on the front.
04:15They know that they have a mother, a sister, a wife at home.
04:20Whatever it is, if that person is not married, probably.
04:23He would know and he would be at peace with the fact that
04:27the front of my house is being taken care of by my family.
04:30And that is very important.
04:33So I would say this is a different kind of strength.
04:37So I am playing an army wife who is extremely strong,
04:42extremely supportive and she is prepared for everything.
04:46Like you must have seen in the snippet that she is saying that
04:49I was never scared of what would happen next.
04:52But this time it feels different.
04:54You know that she is prepared.
04:56So particularly Kedar's brief for my character was
05:00she will not cry in front of you.
05:03She will hold a fort.
05:07And whatever it is, her inner strength should come out.
05:13I would say that much because if I say too much,
05:16then it will be too much of a giveaway.
05:18So I won't say much.
05:20But if you look at it, it is like this.
05:28I will give a big credit to Kedar for this.
05:33The reason is that when my character works in the field,
05:39then he is a common man and he is open.
05:42It would be better if he is invisible.
05:45If there are three people standing,
05:47then it would be better if he is not visible.
05:49So that space was like yes, it will be done.
05:54For me, what was new was that
05:57all the scenes in my uniform,
06:00there was something in my mind about it
06:03that something should not go wrong.
06:05Because there is huge respect for the Indian Army.
06:09And the job of defense is one of the most honorable jobs.
06:15So all those things were in me.
06:17So I thought that there should not be any mistake from my side.
06:20So thanks to Kedar, the way the planning was on the set,
06:24there was a retired colonel, Mr. Aluwalia.
06:28And he was almost every day?
06:30Yes.
06:31Almost every day.
06:32Because he also started enjoying it.
06:34Even when we were not doing the uniform scene,
06:37he used to be happy on the set.
06:40And we all used to go together.
06:42So whenever I used to go to do a scene in uniform,
06:46I used to go to him first.
06:48And after the complete scan, I used to go to the floor.
06:53If there is a cap anywhere,
06:56what should be the angle of the cap?
07:00Where should the badges be?
07:02Is the dress correct or not?
07:04Plus if the scene is at the location,
07:07what is the distance between the officers?
07:10So how much distance do you salute?
07:12And when?
07:13What kind of salute is there?
07:15If you are in civil uniform,
07:17how do you salute your senior officers or junior officers?
07:22Do you salute them or do you respond to their salute?
07:25So those small things were taken care of.
07:30And now I would like to share this with joy,
07:34that in Delhi, there was a screening for Indian Army Personnel
07:40in Manik Shah Auditorium.
07:42It was a huge and outstanding response.
07:45There were soldiers there.
07:47Agniveer.
07:48Agniveer soldiers were there.
07:51And there were retired officers.
07:55There were current on-duty officers.
08:00There were their families.
08:02There were their children.
08:03And they loved it like anything.
08:05I hope those things will come out soon.
08:09So there was a relief there.
08:13Because they could see any mistake immediately.
08:16They said, don't say anything, just go ahead.
