Trump says he will make major pardons related to 2021 US Capitol attack

US President-elect Donald Trump says on Jan. 7, 2025 he will be 'making major pardons' when asked about Jan. 6 defendants. Trump has previously promised to grant clemency to at least some of his supporters who stormed the US Capitol in 2021 in a failed bid to block Congress from certifying President Joe Biden's 2020 election victory.
