00:00Along with the 50th PBA season, the anticipation is high for the release of the list of 50 Greatest PBA Players in History.

00:09In an exclusive interview with PTV Sports, PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial asked who he thinks should be a part of this list.

00:19That's what my teammate Rafael Bandairet told us.

00:24PBA will reach its 50th season in April 2025.

00:32That's why the National League is preparing for the 50th season of the league.

00:40This is the list of 50 Greatest PBA Players of All Time,

00:46where 50 players will be introduced to the colorful history of PBA.

00:55According to PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, he is now forming a selection committee

01:01to ensure that the process of selecting the 5 PBA icons on the list is proper and fair.

01:10Marcial made it clear that he is not a part of the selection committee,

01:14but he insisted that the players from the 70s and 80s should go first.

01:22I suggest that we start with the 75-90s.

01:27Let's start with the 70s, not the 80s.

01:30Because these players will surely become Greatest when their time comes.

01:38Despite this, PBA Commissioner believes that the 8-time PBA Most Valuable Player, Junmar Fajardo, should be included.

01:47Marcial strongly believes that even though he is still active in playing,

01:52he cannot deny the legacy of Cebuano Bigman.

01:57Since he joined the league in 2012,

02:00Fajardo has won the championship 10 times,

02:04has won 4 times as a Finals MVP,

02:07and has won 11 times as a Best Player of the Conference.

02:13I think Junmar Fajardo will be included.

02:17He is the best MVP.

02:20I hope that we will be able to satisfy the fans and the PBA family.

02:37Marcial also wants to thank all the PBA players,

02:44including those who are running for the league behind the board.

02:49That's why he is also cooking an event to thank them.

02:54We will give a good celebration in April 9.

02:59We are still discussing if there will be a game or just for the players.

03:06Because this is for them, this is our 50th anniversary.

03:11Season 49 of PBA continues to end in March.

03:17Next, the Golden Anniversary Season of the League will be held in April.
