More Than 10,000 Animals Counted In Annual Stock Take At London Zoo

00:00So today is the annual stock take here at London Zoo and the reality is we always know
00:14how many animals we have at the zoo, we count them every day, but this is a formal process
00:18that we do once per year.
00:20We register all of the results on an international database called ZIMS and also we register
00:26the results with our local licensing authority, it's part of our zoo license.
00:31Once we collect all of that data we share it with zoos around the whole world and it
00:35helps us make an informed decision when it comes to our critically endangered breeding
00:40programmes, not just here at London Zoo but at all of the zoos globally that we collaborate
00:44with.
