00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr. ordered the reorganization of the National Security
00:04Council, or NSC, through Executive Order 81.
00:07Thus, the NSC will now be composed of several high-ranking government officials, including
00:14the Senate President and House Speaker, with the Chief Executive serving as its chair.
00:18In the meantime, Executive Secretary clarified that at the moment, the Vice President is
00:23not considered relevant to the responsibilities of membership in the NSC.
00:27However, the President, as stated in the EO, has the power to add members or advisors if
00:32he deems it necessary to do so.
00:35First Part NSC Advisor and Director General Eduardo Año supports the issuance of EO 81,
00:40saying it is necessary to further enhance the formulation of national policies concerning
00:46national security.
