00:00Residents and the local government are once again warning people near Vulcan Canlaon to be vigilant and evacuate immediately.
00:07This is because a black fog has appeared again this morning in our vulcan.
00:12For the latest update from the vulcan, we have on the line OCD Central Visayas Director Joel Arestaina.
00:18Good evening. This is Joshua Garcia of Balitang Pambansa. Director.
00:22Good evening sir Joshua. Good evening to all the viewers and listeners.
00:28Yes, Director. Can you tell us what is the current state of the vulcan?
00:35Earlier this morning, before 12 noon, at around 11.45, a black fog appeared.
00:45It wasn't an eruption but it just formed.
00:50Now, it reached around 5 p.m., so the black fog has been around for a long time.
00:59That's why we are urging our neighbors to wear face masks so they won't get infected.
01:13The direction of the wind is still the same, from east to west.
01:22The most affected are our fellowmen in Negros Occidental.
01:32Director, we would like to ask what are the evacuation measures here?
01:38Do we need to evacuate our neighbors and tell them to wear face masks?
01:45Our alert level is still the same as given by PHEVOLGS, alert level number three.
01:54Our alert level is still the same.
01:58We are forcing our fellowmen to wear face masks up to six kilometers radius from the crater.
02:11All right. Regarding the duration of this situation, to your assessment,
02:18correct PHEVOLGS, is there a warning that this situation will last until Christmas?
02:25Sir, our Mt. Calaon is so unpredictable.
02:33We cannot say if it will last or not.
02:37But we know that Christmas is just around the corner.
02:41Our fellowmen should stay in the evacuation centers and not be allowed to go home.
02:50They should be allowed to enter the six-kilometer radius.
02:54As a matter of fact, our evacuation centers are far from the six-kilometer radius,
03:00up to nine, ten, eleven, twelve kilometers away from the crater.
03:06Okay. Thank you very much OCD Central Visayas Director Joel Arestain. Take care.
