00:00Holidays is the perfect time to make others happy.

00:03And now, Christmas and New Year,

00:05we are giving joy to our fellow countrymen

00:08in Divisoria.

00:09Let's watch what's happening there.

00:13There is a saying among the elders,

00:15that whatever you did on the first day of the year,

00:19you will do the same for the rest of the year.

00:22And one of the best way to start the year

00:24is to help your fellow countrymen,

00:26especially to our fellow countrymen.

00:30And that's what the two non-government organizations

00:35Manila Divisoria Alliance Club

00:38and Divisoria Allied Fire Prevention Association Incorporated are doing every year.

00:43Our first project is gift-giving, feeding.

00:46We are giving groceries, fruits, household items,

00:52and other amenities for our fellow countrymen here in our community.

00:58This gift-giving project is called Mano Poninong Project,

01:02which they have been doing for more than 50 years

01:06every first day of January every year.

01:09And now, in 2025, more than 600 elders,

01:13teenagers, and fellow countrymen in Divisoria in Binondo, Manila

01:18have been able to share their happiness and gifts.

01:23They were given groceries,

01:25slippers,

01:26toys,

01:27face towels,

01:29and fruits.

01:31We are giving donations to our fellow countrymen.

01:38So, as the first project of the year,

01:43we are thankful to God that we are still here

01:46and we were given a good time by the Lord.

01:50The weather is getting better now.

01:51Just like the other day, it was raining.

01:55To the children who were given gifts,

01:59be kind, obey your parents,

02:01and be a good citizen of the Philippines.

02:04It's better to give than to receive.

02:06You can say that this quote is already used,

02:10but we still can't deny that this simple talk

02:15has changed many lives,

02:17whether you are the one receiving or the one giving.
