00:00Good afternoon. My name is Tom Frawley. I'm the Chairman of the Western Health and Social Care Trust.
00:07I want to speak to you, the public we serve today, to thank you for the patience and support you've given us throughout this year.
00:17I'm also conscious that we have now entered a very challenging winter period, which will require real effort from our staff to get through it.
00:28And again, that's only possible if the patients we're here to serve are patient with us on occasions.
00:35And we know that the waits can be extremely long, and we know that people can be very frustrated and wonder if they're ever going to be treated.
00:44But I need to make it clear that we will see people on the basis of clinical need.
00:49I'm conscious also that people in their private lives are going through real challenges.
00:57And again, I hope that this will pass and that you will have a restful and positive Christmas.
01:06And I ask you to look after yourselves, because that in itself can remove pressure from the health service.
01:13But in the meantime, have a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.
