00:00A senior DAP leader has called on Pakatan Harapan and the party to explain in clear terms to supporters
00:08the basis for Rosmah Mansur's acquittal from 17 money laundering and tax evasion charges.
00:14Speaking on condition of anonymity, the leader said the decision, if left unexplained,
00:20would undermine PH's reformist agenda and erode public confidence in the government's commitment
00:25to justice and the rule of law. The leader told FMT that DAP built its campaign at the last election
00:33around the 1MDB scandal, former Prime Minister Najib Razak and Rosmah, adding that people who
00:39voted for PH to bring about change will feel let down. On Thursday, the High Court acquitted Rosmah
00:46of all charges without the need for a trial. Justice K. Muniandi said the charges brought
00:52against Rosmah were illegal, flawed, and did not disclose the commission of any offence.
00:58Meanwhile, a DAP assemblyman who also asked not to be named described the timing of the decision
01:04as particularly damaging for the government. The assemblyman warned that PH may see backlash in
01:10the next general election, citing the low voter turnout at the Sungai Bakar Bayi election as
01:16reflecting growing disillusionment with the coalition. Both leaders called for PH and DAP
01:23to act swiftly with the senior party figure saying voters expect action in the form of
01:28audible responses, not silence.
