00:00Very much so, because we were like, okay, we're going to shoot the film and then what
00:08if something else happens, right? But the thing is, you've got to make your peace with
00:13that, right? Or you can just decide to keep shooting the film forever, right? So you have
00:18to make your peace with the fact that okay, whatever it is that I'm getting is going to
00:21be the story of this film, right? But the thing is, how we have structured this film
00:27is that, sure, we shot over one and a half years, because the other one and a half years
00:32went into archiving, licensing, and music licensing, and the editing and all of that
00:36stuff took time. But we shot the film over a span of one and a half years. And whatever
00:41was happening in that time and space was happening in that time and space. But his story is so
00:47much more than that. We went back in time, we went and discussed things that have already
00:52happened. And then we had to find a way to connect them to the things that were happening,
00:56right? But one permanent thing that never changes in a rockstar's life is the journey
01:02of creativity, right? He's constantly creating music. He's constantly out there. If he's not
01:07doing one concert, he's doing something else there. If he's not doing that tour, then he's
01:11doing something else there. So there's always something happening. So in a way, it's very
01:18different from what was happening previously, but it is the same thing, right? So we were
01:24able to capture all essences of his because of this. Whether it was the past or the future,
01:31or the current, we were able to capture all parts of it and bring to light everything
01:38through those things that is important about his life.
01:42And set him up for where he is today in many ways, right? So this film is actually probably
01:46going to be a small part of his journey within his larger journey, because that's really like
01:51the nature of evolution really, right? He's so different already than what he was in the
01:58documentary, but that's really, you know, the beauty of something so organic.
02:03But that's also the journey of an artist. So you know what I mean? An artist has to constantly
02:08keep evolving, keep changing, whether it's the way he looks, the way the music he sings,
02:14whatever it is, that's the most exciting thing. And like I said, I always, always want to make
02:21a film on a rock star, right? Because these are the things that excited me, this constant
02:26like sense of evolution, this chameleon like quality that the best of them have, right? Where
02:31they can transform with the culture, they can transform with the time, because culture keeps
02:36shifting and culture doesn't wait for anybody. And it is the greatest of the pop stars and the
02:41rock stars who kind of assimilate with the shifting culture. And I think Honey is right up
02:45there with that.
02:51Yes. And it was Vicky's first film, it was Moza's first film as a director. And that was something
02:59that I produced, Sikai produced. So and that was also on music. And that was also finding,
03:04you know, somebody through music, finding your own self through music, because you see all the
03:10highs, all the lows, you know, you see the transactional world and somewhere, you know,
03:14your spiritual side kicks in and music brings you back to the world. So there's definitely a deep
03:19association of music, spirituality, you know, set in Punjab, Punjabi and Moses. So that was our first
03:26venture. I went on to actually produce Peddlers and Haram Khor, two of the films that we crowdfunded
03:33on Facebook. And Moses and I go very long back, one of my closest friends. Also, so Moses, yes,
03:41also was part of being a producer on Peddlers and Haram Khor with us. And then is this one,
03:49I mean, we, I mean, more than this, you know, we're, we're very deep, we're very, very good
03:54friends, you know, more than above and beyond work. But it's always so nice to work and also
04:01be able to tell each other the truth, you know, ki yeh accha hai, yeh aise kar lete hain, yeh aise nahi
04:06kar lete hain and being a team, you know, when you can be that team and be honest with each other,
04:11you know, it's, it's the, it's the best kind of friendship. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. And for my
04:15last question, Tanya, 2024 has been a great year for Netflix. Meera Mandi, Do Patti, Kapil Sharma Show,
04:23come 2025. Kaali Kaali Aankhe. Kaali Kaali Aankhe, yes, of course. We all have our favorites.
04:29Yeah, absolutely. Oh my God, which I'm a part of. I keep forgetting I'm a part of the show.
04:34When he said that, you know, I can make people talk, I was like, we know that in many ways.
04:39I keep forgetting I'm a part of that show. You know, it's so crazy. I'm at airports and this
04:44side and the other and I have my own career. But I'm mobbed for Bollywood vibes, in which I'm a
04:50footnote. I'm a footnote in every season. I'm in season one, season two, season three for a few
04:55seconds and I have a blast because the girls are fabulous and I love them all. But I mean,
04:59that is the most recall. I get fabulous vibes. And Netflix has also played that role in my life
05:06with Elephant Whispers. Of being, you know, take pictures in airports and everything. But yes,
05:11definitely.
05:17Oh, okay, that's specific. I'm glad you're a fan as am I. You know, we're really grateful
05:24for 2024. It has really been such an amazing year. Started on like a super high with Mamla
05:31Legal Hai. And then the Kapil Sharma, you know, sort of migration to Netflix with The Great
05:37Indian Kapil Show has really been amazing in terms of the response it has. In its first season,
05:44it has been in the global top 10 non-English for five weeks. In the second one for four weeks,
05:50it's been trending on the top 10 in India for the last 12 weeks and we just had the finale.
05:56So it's a show that people are really enjoying coming week on week. The recent episode with
06:02Rekha and now the finale, very, very loved episodes. Then of course, Heera Mandi has been
06:09our single most, you know, watched series ever till date. The success of it has been unprecedented.
06:17It is our biggest Indian show of the year as we've seen with recent stats. So and then IC814,
06:23I can keep going on. I feel like I actually don't believe we are in December already.
06:28So it's been a lovely ride and we've been really hard at work, very full of gratitude and humility
06:36looking ahead into 2025. And very excited to kick off the year with a very exciting title
06:43called Black Warrant. I think the trailer drops tomorrow. The Roshans, I was just coming to that,
06:49the Roshans as well. And lots of exciting things, there are lots of fan favorites like Khaki Season
06:552, Rana Naidu Season 3, Season 2, Delhi Crime Season 3. We have the Royals, we have of course,
07:03Kapil returning for another season. So lots of excitement in store. You know, really cannot wait
07:10for the year to start. I feel like we need a little bit of a break to get over the year. So
07:15like looking forward to watching Honey Singh and then taking a breath as we dive into Black Warrant.
07:20So it's exciting. But there's a lot, there's a lot in store, both on every side actually,
07:25unscripted content and sorry, unscripted series, scripted series, films, our licensing slate, super
07:34excited. And Guns N' Gulabs? Guns N' Gulabs is in the, yes, I know. I'm so glad you said that. I
07:42was actually going to talk about the romantics earlier, but then the Roshans is the next one
07:46that we're excited about. And that's coming after Honey Singh. So there's a, there's a full lineup.
07:51Guns N' Gulabs is hard at work. The writer's room is, you know, really working hard. But right now,
07:58Raj and D.K are shooting Raft from Man For Us, which is something that is on the floor,
08:03very exciting, epic drama. So hope to bring all of it really soon.
08:11Well, all I just want to say is that Netflix is at this incredible, incredible year and I hope
08:17Famous closes it for them with like the most giant fireworks. So I hope that's what happens.
08:24Famous, Famous isn't the last one. After Famous comes Squid Game on the 26th of December.
08:30So December is power packed for us.
08:32That is a firework happening, waiting to happen for sure.
08:37As big as Asteroid about to hit the earth.
08:40That's really sweet. No, but December is a super special year. We really wanted to pack the holiday
08:45season with all things exciting. So Mismatch season three came out last week. This week,
08:50we have Famous and then we have Squid Game in the running. So it's great. We're looking
08:55forward to lots of viewing. There's lots of other films as well. So exciting.
