00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we are looking at items and equipment from The Legend of
00:10Zelda that are more trouble to acquire than they're worth.
00:19But before we get into it, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe
00:24and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:28Full Course Horse Armor The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
00:40At the Mounted Archery Camp in Faron Grasslands, Link can take on a challenge to pop balloons
00:46while on horseback.
00:4720 gets him the knight's bridle, while 23 gets him the knight's saddle.
00:52That's easier said than done, however, as hitting the targets while in motion takes
00:56more than a little skill, and not everyone has that kind of coordination.
01:00Worse is the Mounted Obstacle Course near Highland Stable, which has Link jumping over
01:05gates within a time limit to get the extravagant bridle and saddle.
01:09The stiff horse controls obviously don't help, nor does the fact that each of these
01:14challenges costs 20 rupees per attempt.
01:17But at least you get some sweet armor pieces for your horse, which are completely cosmetic.
01:27Frog Lore The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
01:40Fishing minigames are already divisive in this franchise, but for those who are really
01:45into them, the lore of getting the frog lore may be too much to resist.
01:50To get it, you must complete the first eight levels of Roll Goal, a ball balancing minigame
01:56at the fishing hole.
01:58Whether you use motion controls or a control stick, maneuvering the ball over the small
02:02paths is extremely frustrating.
02:05And it costs 5 rupees per try.
02:08While the frog lore will let you catch a rare fish, it's also hard to control.
02:13And if you catch that fish, you get your picture on the wall.
02:16Who wouldn't want to play a difficult minigame to make another minigame harder for a bad
02:21reward?
02:28Mirror Shield The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap
02:38To be fair, like in most Zelda games where you can get one, the Mirror Shield is the
02:43best shield in the game.
02:45It turns projectiles into beams when you guard with it.
02:48But timing, as they say, is everything.
02:51In The Minish Cap, you can only obtain the Mirror Shield after you defeat the final boss
02:55and beat the game.
02:57At the top of Vale Falls, if you feed your small shield to Big Goron, the giant will
03:02repay you by giving you the Mirror Shield if you return to him later.
03:06And he also only appears after you've completed a separate lengthy side quest that involves
03:11fusing multiple kin stones.
03:13It's a good item, but it would have been a lot more useful earlier.
03:24Bomber's Ring The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages
03:33This explosive item allows you to set two bombs at once.
03:36However, the merry little dance you have to go through to get it isn't worth it.
03:41And we're not being poetic, it's a literal dance minigame.
03:44The Goron Dance is among the most infamous minigames in Zelda history.
03:49The timing is absurdly precise, and to get the Bomber's Ring, you have to do it perfectly
03:55on Platinum difficulty.
03:57What's worse is that receiving the Bomber's Ring isn't even a guaranteed prize, since
04:02the reward can also be the Protection Ring instead.
04:06By the time you get it, you may just explode yourself.
04:19Circus Leader's Mask The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
04:28There are many masks in this game, but not everyone's a winner.
04:32To get this one, you must complete the Romani Ranch side quest, which ends with Link protecting
04:38Cremia from the Gorman Brothers.
04:40Once she gives you Romani's Mask, you can go to Clock Town's Milk Bar.
04:45Inside, you need to follow Toto's directions to play each of your transformation's musical
04:49instruments.
04:50The resulting song will move Gorman, who gives you the Circus Leader's Mask.
04:54The mask can be used to stave off his brother's attacks while protecting Cremia.
05:00In a side quest, you already did to get the mask in the first place.
05:04While the 3DS remake made it essential in getting an extra bottle, in the original,
05:08it's basically useless outside of trading towards the Fierce Deity Mask at the end of
05:13the game.
05:18Addison's Fabric The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
05:33Advertising can be tough in Hyrule, as Addison finds out.
05:36The hapless Hudson Construction employee can be found all over the map trying to put up
05:42signs for the business.
05:43Using Ultra Hand, you can help create various supports to keep them upright.
05:48Finding just the right combination to do so can be tricky, plus the game doesn't give
05:52you a way to keep track of which signs you've been to already, or where they are.
05:57The reward for fixing all 81 of them is a new Paraglider skin.
06:03It glows in the dark, yay.
06:11Karlov Medal The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap
06:20Figurines in this game can be obtained from the Figurine Gallery through gacha mechanics,
06:25and it's infamous among fans for its completely broken RNG mechanics.
06:31If for some reason you decide to pull for all 130 figurines, you can speak to Herb,
06:37a figurine fan.
06:39Herb will act as though you have the Karlov Medal and give you access to his house, which
06:44has money, a piece of heart, and a music player.
06:47However, to actually get the Karlov Medal, you need to beat the game and pull for the
06:53six new figurines that have been unlocked.
06:56With it, you gain access to...
06:59Looking at the medal in your menu, ooooh.
07:10Giant's Knife The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time
07:21Perhaps one of the biggest scams in Zelda history, the Giant's Knife seems like a
07:25good deal on the surface.
07:27It's a huge, two-handed sword that's twice as powerful as the Master Sword.
07:32Sure, it costs 200 rupees and takes years to complete, but that kind of quality is worth
07:38it, right?
07:39Well, not when it breaks after 8 hits.
07:42Yeah, you can still use it, technically, but when its power is only a quarter of what it
07:47was, what's the point?
07:49And people complained about the breakable weapons in Breath of the Wild.
07:58Miiverse Stamps The Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess HD
08:08The remaster of Twilight Princess for the Wii U brought with it some changes, including
08:13some new items.
08:15The most prevalent of these are the Miiverse Stamps, which were used for the Miiverse social
08:20network across Nintendo platforms.
08:22If you didn't care about the Miiverse, these were pretty disappointing to pull out of a
08:28chest.
08:29As pointless as they were when the game was released, they have since become even more
08:32worthless than before.
08:34You see, the Miiverse service wasn't carried over to the Switch, and ended in November
08:392017.
08:41For as bad as most of these items are, at least their only use didn't have an expiration
08:46date.
08:52Hestu's Gift The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild, and
08:57Tears of the Kingdom Infamous among completionists, this reward
09:05is no gift at all.
09:06Throughout both of these open world Zelda titles, you need to collect Korok Seeds to
09:11bring to Hestu.
09:12It's required to upgrade your inventory slots.
09:15However, there's no need to collect them all.
09:18There are 900 seeds in Breath of the Wild and 1000 in Tears of the Kingdom.
09:24Scouring every corner of Hyrule for all of them will yield the same prize from Hestu,
09:29a big golden turd.
09:32It doesn't do anything, it just sits there stinking up the menu and making you wish you
09:37could get those hours, those days of your life back.
09:46Is there a Zelda item that didn't merit questing for that we forgot?
09:50Well, it's definitely worth telling us about it in the comments.
