00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're looking at items from The Legend of Zelda that take
00:10the most effort and patience to unlock.
00:13However, we won't be including any pieces of heart, nor any items from spinoff games.
00:26But before we get into it, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe

00:35The Fourth Bottle, The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
00:43Ocarina of Time features four empty bottles to let Link carry around potions and other
00:48useful things.
00:50While the first three are easy to get, the fourth certainly isn't.
00:54There are ten big poes hidden around Hyrule Field.
00:58As soon as one appears, you'll have to give chase on Epona and shoot the ghost down before
01:03it vanishes.
01:12These can be a pretty big pain considering the poes flee on set paths and can disappear
01:18extremely quickly.
01:19By killing them all, collecting their souls, and taking them to the Poe Collector in Hyrule
01:24Castle Town, you'll earn the fourth bottle.
01:27But honestly, unless you're going for a 100% run, you may as well just stick to three and
01:32save yourself the hassle.
01:40The Hylian Shield, The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
01:53If you want to earn Link's classic shield and skyward sword, you better be prepared
01:57to fight for it.
01:59After meeting the dragon Lanayru, players can challenge themselves to a boss rush mode.
02:04While you can choose what boss you start with, every other one will be randomized.
02:08Each fight also only gives you access to the items you would have had when encountering
02:12the boss for the first time in the story.
02:23And you can't take any bottled items like potions or fairies with you, making it a bit
02:28harder to heal.
02:29Although there are 12 possible rounds to get through, Link is given the Hylian Shield after
02:34beating 8 of them.
02:35Still, that many bosses in a row can prove tough.
02:44The Last Figurine, The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker
02:54After reaching the Forest Haven in Wind Waker, players can take on one of the longest side
02:59quests in Zelda history.
03:01In the Nintendo Gallery, Link can bring Karlov a picture of any character or enemy from the
03:06game to have him craft a figurine.
03:09What makes this time consuming, other than tracking everyone down, are Karlov's rules.
03:14The pictures have to be colored, requiring a separate side quest, and the subject has
03:19to be centered and looking at the camera.
03:22Or else he won't accept it, which is pretty hard with certain enemies and bosses.
03:26This was made much easier in the HD remake, which started with the color camera, let you
03:31save 10 pictures instead of 3, and marked each successful picture so you didn't waste
03:37any time.
03:38But finishing it in the original to earn the final figurine of Link and the King of Red
03:42Lions was a major commitment.
03:54Ice Arrows, The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time
04:04Most Zelda games give Link elemental arrows through the main story, but the same can't
04:09be said of Ocarina of Time.
04:11In order to earn the Ice Arrows, you have to make it through the optional Gerudo Training
04:15Ground.
04:16This is a series of locked, connected rooms in which Link must defeat enemies, overcome
04:21obstacles and hazards, or both, to earn another key.
04:27It also uses most of the items found in the main dungeons, making each room varied.
04:33Thankfully, there are enough keys so that you don't worry about your starting direction,
04:37but some of the rooms are actually pretty tough, especially those that give you a time
04:41limit to accomplish their goal.
04:50Master Cycle Zero, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
05:01The Champions Ballad DLC for Breath of the Wild truly brought the pain, including brutal
05:06combat challenges to increase the power of the Master Sword.
05:10It also let players obtain a new item in the Master Cycle Zero, which naturally took a
05:15lot of effort to unlock.
05:17The Story DLC saw Link complete 16 new shrines, 4 for each champion, and defeat a more challenging
05:24version of their area's boss, which also limited what items you had access to.
05:29You then had to complete a final trial, which ended in a fight against the surprisingly
05:34formidable Monk Maz Koshia, one of the toughest fights in the series with four varied phases.
05:43Your reward was a motorcycle, which was actually a ton of fun to take across Hyrule.
06:02Swordsman's Scrolls, The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks
06:12Like many other games in the series, Spirit Tracks features a couple of collectible side
06:17quests, both of which can test your willingness to make it to the end.
06:21Link is given a journal by Niko, which he can fill up with stamps on his travels.
06:26Stamp stations, of which there are 20, can be found in noteworthy areas, from villages
06:31to dungeons, and some are more well hidden than others.
06:35However, the more annoying quest is that of Rabbit Land Rescue.
06:39Link must find and capture 50 rabbits hidden in the overworld, some of which can only be
06:44found by completing other quests.
06:52Both get you a Swordsman's Scroll.
06:54The one from the stamp quest gives Link a great spin attack, while finishing the Rabbit
06:58Land quest lets him shoot beams from his sword.
07:09Majora's Mask, The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
07:16Majora's Mask was added as a highly useful item in the DLC for Breath of the Wild, letting
07:22Link approach most enemies without them attacking.
07:25For Tears of the Kingdom though, Nintendo decided to test our combat prowess to make
07:29sure we were worthy.
07:31In the sequel, the mask is found in the depths, directly beneath the Colosseum ruins on the
07:36surface.
07:37Except, in order to get it, you have to defeat 5 Gloom-covered Lynels in a row, increasing
07:43in difficulty, with the last one being an Armored Silver Lynel.
07:55That would be hard normally, but the Gloom affliction puts you even more on edge, especially
08:00if you haven't earned enough hearts or found better armor at this point.
08:12The Extravagant Bridal and Saddle, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
08:23The horse riding minigames in Breath of the Wild are recipes for absolute fury.
08:28Trying to earn the Knight's Bridal and Saddle from the Mounted Archery Camp is definitely
08:32frustrating, yet hitting targets from horseback is surprisingly not as bad as trying to make
08:37it through Highland Stable's obstacle course.
08:40Players must spend 20 rupees to leap over 10 hurdles, which are spread out in a nearby
08:45plain, within a certain time limit to get the rewards.
08:55Finishing under a minute and 30 seconds gets you the Extravagant Bridal, while finishing
09:00under a minute and 15 seconds gets you the Saddle.
09:03What sounds simple on paper is infuriating in practice.
09:07The horses are harder to control when going fast, while going too slow or just being off
09:13by a hair from the center will cause them not to jump over the hurdle.
09:24The Hammer, Zelda 2 The Adventure of Link
09:32Everything else on our list is completely optional, thankfully, but The Hammer in Zelda
09:362 is required to beat the game, and it's a complete nightmare to find.
09:42Link can pick it up on Death Mountain, by far the most complex and frustrating iteration
09:47of the famous location.
09:49What makes getting the Hammer so maddening is that it's found at the end of a huge
09:53maze, filled with stronger enemies than anything you will have seen up until this point.
10:03And since you can venture here relatively early in the game, it has a reputation for
10:08being a huge difficulty spike.
10:10Making it through this without help from the internet, or tips from Nintendo Power back
10:15in the day, was a major challenge.
10:25Light Ring L2 The Legend of Zelda, Oracle of Ages
10:36Getting everything in Oracle of Ages is one of the most difficult things to do in any
10:41Zelda game, and that's because of the inclusion of rings.
10:45This specific ring can only be earned in a minigame, a shooting gallery found in Linna
10:50Village.
10:51Players must score at least 350 points to earn a ring as their prize, but the problem
10:57is that there's no way of knowing if it's the Light Ring L2, or some other ring, until
11:03you get it appraised.
11:12This is the only way to earn this item, but it has less than a 5% chance of being the
11:18correct one.
11:19It's an upgrade of the previous L1 version, and lets Link fire sword beams while still
11:24missing up to 3 hearts.
11:26But that benefit hardly seems worth the effort.
11:38Pest 2's Gift The Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom
11:48In Breath of the Wild, players could collect 900 Korok Seeds to fully max out their inventory
11:53space, and receive the hilariously underwhelming reward of Pest 2's Gift.
11:58Nintendo made things a bit more challenging in Tears of the Kingdom, with 1,000 seeds
12:02to collect this time.
12:04Quite frankly, that's ridiculous.
12:07There's a little more variety, especially with how you can build different vehicles
12:12to help some of them reach their friends, but that variety does add to the difficulty.
12:17Still it's the sheer amount of time and searching for these little guys that makes
12:21the quest hard.
12:22All for the same useless item you got in the first game.
12:29Big Goron's Sword The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time
12:37Adult Link's trading quest in Ocarina of Time is famous now, considering how beloved
12:42the game is, and how it leads to the intensely powerful Big Goron's Sword.
12:47But playing through it without knowing the order, what you're meant to do, is pretty
12:52obscure.
12:57It starts in Kakariko Village, where the Cuckoo Lady gives Link an egg to wake up a heavy
13:02sleeper.
13:03Easy stuff.
13:04However, it isn't long before which person comes next, or where they can be found, will
13:08be beyond you.
13:10Things grow even harder with certain items that come with a time limit, as you'll have
13:14to rush across the kingdom since warping won't work.
13:17The weapon is certainly worth getting, but there's no denying this stressed us out
13:22back in the day.
13:30Hero's Charm The Legend of Zelda, The Wind Waker HD
13:43When it comes to earning the Hero's Charm, it's a lot harder in the HD version than the
13:47GameCube one.
13:48In the original, Windfall Island teacher, Mrs. Marie, gives it to Link after he gives
13:53her 40 joy pendants.
14:00In the HD remaster, it's found at the end of the Savage Labyrinth.
14:04The fact that joy is used for one method, and savage used for the other, really sums
14:09up the difficulty spike.
14:11While it's required you complete 30 floors of progressively tougher monsters for the
14:15story, you have to conquer 20 more to earn this prize.
14:19It lets Link see the health bars of all enemies, a nice benefit, but it definitely takes a
14:24lot of effort from the player.
14:35Tycoon Wallet The Legend of Zelda, Skyward Sword
14:46We're grateful Nintendo has seemingly done away with the wallet size system because some
14:50of them take a lot of work to unlock.
14:53The Tycoon Wallet from Skyward Sword can hold up to 9,000 rupees, which is far more than
14:58you would ever need by the time you're able to get it.
15:01It's the final prize in the side quest of Batro, a monster living in Skyloft who wants
15:06to be human.
15:13Scattered about on some Sky Islands, though more commonly earned in other side quests,
15:17are Gratitude Crystals, of which Batro needs all 80 before he can transform, and therefore
15:23cough up the wallet.
15:24Although none of these quests are too challenging, some are well hidden, and it's still a tremendous
15:30amount of work.
15:39Super Net The Legend of Zelda, A Link Between Worlds
15:51Similar to Wind Waker's Savage Labyrinth, the treacherous tower from A Link Between
15:54Worlds has you work through floors of increasingly stronger enemies.
15:59Only here, it's divided into three levels of difficulty, and each one must be beaten
16:03to unlock the next.
16:05The advanced level comes with a staggering 50 floors and costs 300 rupees to enter.
16:11After beating it, you'll be gifted the Super Lamp.
16:21But in order to get the Super Net, which is really just the normal net with the ability
16:25to damage enemies, you have to beat it a second time.
16:28As if the first time wasn't difficult enough, that's also a lot of dedication with no health
16:33drops for something you don't really need.
16:41Hero of the Wild Set and Ancient Heroes Aspect The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and
16:47Tears of the Kingdom
16:54Although they're different rewards from different games, the Hero of the Wild Set and the Ancient
16:59Heroes Aspect are earned in basically the same way.
17:02But which one you find more challenging to get depends on your skill as a player.
17:07The Hero of the Wild Set is given to you by the Sheikah Monks, after Link has completed
17:11all 120 shrines in Breath of the Wild.
17:21And the Ancient Heroes Aspect is earned after completing the 152 shrines in Tears of the
17:26Kingdom.
17:28Granted, some shrines are obviously harder than others.
17:34But because each of these rewards is locked behind something that requires a ton of time
17:38searching for and beating, they're some of the hardest rewards to earn in Zelda.
17:46The Fierce Deity Mask The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
17:57There are a few masks in Majora's Mask that are pretty challenging to unlock.
18:02For example, the Couple's Mask is earned after one of the hardest, longest side quests in
18:06Zelda history.
18:08Of course, that means the mask you only get from earning all the rest has to take the
18:12cake.
18:13Once Link makes it to the final section, he can trade away the 20 Miner Masks to the four
18:17children running around the tree.
18:20And then play some very intense hide and seek.
18:30Only then will the child sitting under the tree gift him with the Fierce Deity Mask.
18:35It grants him the ability to make any boss, including the final one, seem like nothing
18:40in comparison, so it's more than worth getting.
18:50Colossal Wallet The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD
19:03Here we have two staples of the past Zelda era, another big wallet, and a combat dungeon.
19:09Only in the HD version of Twilight Princess can you get the Colossal Wallet, which can
19:14hold 9,999 rupees.
19:17By scanning this remaster's Wolf Link amiibo, you could access the Cave of Shadows, a 40
19:23floor dungeon like those before it, but which had to be played as Link's alternate form.
19:36Not having access to your full inventory certainly makes things tougher.
19:40However, you have to gain wallets in order of increasing capacity.
19:44If you haven't found the 24 golden bugs hidden about Hyrule for Agatha's side quest, you'll
19:49get the next largest wallet.
19:52If you want the Colossal one, you have to do both.
20:00The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap
20:11The Mirror Shield is usually earned late game, but Minish Cap took it a step further.
20:16For starters, you have to have already beaten the final boss.
20:20For another, it takes a series of obscure, hidden kinstone fusions to pull off.
20:26You start by fusing with one of the farmers in Eastern Hills, which causes a Goron digging
20:30by Lon Lon Ranch to break into a cave.
20:32In order to get him help, you have to fuse with five seemingly ordinary walls hidden
20:37in different caves.
20:39Doing all of that only gets you the last empty bottle.
20:46But afterward, fusing with one of the Gorons causes Big Goron to pop up in Veil Falls.
20:52After Link gives him his shield and waits 20 minutes, you finally get your just reward.
21:01The Bomber's Ring The Legend of Zelda, Oracle of Ages
21:11Zelda has some annoying minigames, but the Goron dancing from Oracle of Ages is pretty
21:17close to the top.
21:18Getting the rhythm right from the little bleeps and bloops is surprisingly challenging.
21:23You can find it in the present and the past, but the older era has the Bomber's Ring,
21:27which lets Link place two bombs at once.
21:30There are three skill levels to choose from, Platinum being the hardest.
21:34That means getting every single note and pause perfect in some rather drawn out sequences.
21:48You'll get a magic ring for your troubles, but there's only a chance it will be the
21:51Bomber's Ring.
21:52It's more than likely you'll walk out of there with a ring you can find elsewhere.
21:56But this is the only way you can earn this prize.
