00:00:00All right, everyone, welcome back in to another live edition of the Patriots Beat Podcast
00:00:28here on the CLNS Media Network presented by our wonderful friends over at Game Time and
00:00:34Prize Picks.
00:00:35It's Brian Heinz back as always with Alex Barth and it's Wednesday.
00:00:39So as Gerard May I'd like to say we are turning the page and we got the Buffalo Bills on tap.
00:00:46Should be a good game out there in Buffalo.
00:00:48It's going to be cold and, you know, a lot of players talking about the atmosphere in
00:00:52Buffalo, always a good one.
00:00:55So we got that game on Sunday.
00:00:57We are starting the first ever 12-team college football playoff this weekend.
00:01:02So we are very excited for that and we're going to go through those matchups this weekend.
00:01:07I have a lot of draft prospects, interesting draft prospects, so we'll make sure to talk
00:01:12a good amount on that as well.
00:01:14But we'll start with the Bills and we'll start with that preview and we'll start with some
00:01:17of the things we heard down there at Gillette today.
00:01:21And Barth, we've heard a lot these last few days after that Cardinals game about, you
00:01:24know, questions around Gerard Mayo's job and his future and speculation about where
00:01:30that is going to go.
00:01:31Did it make you feel any more confident in Mayo, you know, whether it's him as a coach
00:01:37or him as his job status, listening to players like Drake May, like a longtime captain Dietrich
00:01:42Wise getting to the podium today and having their head coaches back there say, you know,
00:01:47we believe in him.
00:01:48He's still a really good coach.
00:01:50We trust him.
00:01:51We trust where this vision is going.
00:01:52You know, Dietrich Wise has even used, unprompted, the Dan Campbell comparison, which we've talked
00:01:58a lot about.
00:02:00So did that, was that a vote of confidence to you at all in Gerard Mayo hearing that
00:02:04from his players and, you know, he still got the locker room here?
00:02:08Um, I mean, it's not discouraging.
00:02:11I don't know.
00:02:12I mean, I, you don't expect them to come out and say like, yeah, it's not working right.
00:02:16But, um, I thought Drake May handled it really well.
00:02:20Like he continues to just kind of rise above all of this and at 22 years old, be a true
00:02:26professional.
00:02:27Um, you know, I, I, I do still think, especially some of those longer tenure guys, guys like
00:02:33Dietrich Wise, right?
00:02:34He has such a long standing relationship with them going back, um, played with a handful
00:02:39of them, has been a coach in the building for a number of years now, like they, I never
00:02:45expected him to lose.
00:02:46I never expected him to lose that group.
00:02:48And I don't think he's the kind of coach that loses the locker room in the sense that
00:02:51guys turn on, right.
00:02:53Yeah.
00:02:54I, I think the question is more about when it comes to execution and translating things
00:03:01from the practice field, like, does he have the attention there?
00:03:04So when that's not something a player is going to come out and admit he doesn't have, cause
00:03:08that's also on the player.
00:03:10So no, it didn't, it didn't surprise me a ton.
00:03:12I don't know that it changed the way I felt one way or the other.
00:03:15I still coming out of that Cardinals game, feel like he, there, there is a real chance
00:03:19he's coaching for his job here down the stretch.
00:03:22And I do feel like I, if I had to put money on it, I think he's back next year, but I
00:03:28do feel like, like I can see the path to a one and done.
00:03:30I don't think that's off the table.
00:03:33Um, but I, I don't know that anything today changed the way I felt about that massively.
00:03:40Yeah.
00:03:41I think it's a good sign because if you lose the locker room, like it's over, right.
00:03:46And he still has the locker and the players still kind of believe in him.
00:03:49And, but as you said, like, that's his type of style, like player friendly as Drake even
00:03:54described it today.
00:03:55Like you wouldn't expect him to lose the locker room.
00:03:57It's more of the game management and the X's and O's stuff that we're sitting out and saying,
00:04:02you know, what's the deal.
00:04:04What's the deal there.
00:04:05So I agree with you.
00:04:06I still expect to be back next year, but those odds there's, it's not a sure, sure thing.
00:04:13I would say, especially if you get, you know, blown out these last couple of games, especially
00:04:17we have a four 30.
00:04:19So a little bit more of like a prime time ish slot.
00:04:22And now we have a standalone game week 17 on Saturday.
00:04:26So that's, uh, I think it was, uh, Ben Solak on ESPN.
00:04:31He put out the tweet the other day where it's like these types of big decisions kind of
00:04:36occur after primetime or Island games, right?
00:04:39You're like, you just saw cousins get benched for Michael panics.
00:04:42They get embarrassed on a Monday night and even dating back to last year, like the loss
00:04:47in Germany, you know, that standalone Island game nine 30 primetime ish in the morning
00:04:52was, you know, reported as kind of the last straw for bill Belichick.
00:04:56So it's set up where things could, you know, keep going South here, uh, for Gerard Mayo.
00:05:01But yeah, I would still, uh, I'd put my money on him coming back if I was a, uh, betting
00:05:07man there.
00:05:08Uh, do you like the, uh, Mike Rabel rumors that are going around though?
00:05:12Would he be your guy if they do move on?
00:05:14Yeah.
00:05:15It's him or Flores.
00:05:16I think that there's draws to both.
00:05:19I'm not as high on Ben Johnson as other people.
00:05:22I also don't think Ben Johnson would come here.
00:05:24So you know, I just looking at the landscape of it, I think getting somebody with head
00:05:31coaching experience is at the top of my list.
00:05:34If they are going to move on from Gerard Mayo as, as renowned as Ben Johnson is for his
00:05:40offensive system, I don't think another first year head coach is the answer.
00:05:44I don't.
00:05:45I think you want somebody who's done it before.
00:05:48Who's built a program.
00:05:49Who's run a program.
00:05:50Mike Rabel obviously did that and got the shaft too soon in Tennessee because they couldn't
00:05:54find a quarterback.
00:05:55And John Robinson kind of screwed him on the Aja Brown trade.
00:05:59Mike, uh, no, um, Brian Flores got a really raw deal in Miami.
00:06:05I would argue he did a better job in three years than Mike McDaniel has.
00:06:09I probably, you can tell me if that's a hot take, Brian, you know how I feel about McDaniel.
00:06:13I don't want to get caught in the emotions of it, but what does he three and 15 against
00:06:17teams over 500 Flores made the playoffs once, right?
00:06:21I think his last year.
00:06:22So that's the one thing McDaniel did get them to the playoffs.
00:06:26Was he the game where they remember that game in Pittsburgh where they had to play
00:06:31like their backup quarterback or something?
00:06:33And they were like, that's when kind of the cold weather dolphins might've started.
00:06:37Cause they were freezing up there in Pittsburgh and it was, he did not make the playoff, but
00:06:42he, he finished over 500 twice.
00:06:44He had a 10 and nine win season and went 24 and 25.
00:06:49Mike McDaniel has made the playoffs twice.
00:06:51He's lost badly both times.
00:06:53But let's also not forget again, three and 15 against teams over 500.
00:06:58Mike McDaniel came in here against the Tom Brady Patriots and beat them in a game that
00:07:05mattered to the Patriots.
00:07:06It's like, that was a massively derailing game.
00:07:10Brian Flores got the short end of the stick in Miami cause he refused to tank.
00:07:15But he built a program there.
00:07:17He built a program.
00:07:18And I think if he'd been given more time, maybe the dolphins are what the bills are
00:07:21at this point.
00:07:23And I know they don't have Josh Allen, but I think they were trending in the right direction.
00:07:28Flores also coming from Minnesota.
00:07:31I, as I've said, I think very highly of Kevin O'Connell.
00:07:33You're obviously not drawing Kevin O'Connell with him, but, uh, does somebody like Josh
00:07:37McCown come to somebody like Kenan McCardell come?
00:07:39Like he has that role of decks offensively.
00:07:42I also wouldn't rule out.
00:07:44And I know people are probably pulling their hair out.
00:07:45Snow that even offensive coach, both these guys that you're naming are defensive.
00:07:50I yes, but the offensive backgrounds for both are strong.
00:07:58I, again, with, with Flores, you have the guys in Minnesota who have done a good job.
00:08:02And ideally you build a pipeline, you know, behind your offensive coordinator that you're
00:08:07going to have a replacement.
00:08:09And there's been some rumors out there that, that Mike Frabel might be tied in with Josh
00:08:13McDaniels, which would be a new playbook, um, for, for Drake may, but obviously we know
00:08:19McDaniels can develop quarterbacks.
00:08:21I also wouldn't rule out if they have a new coach, especially if it's Flores, Alex van
00:08:27Pelt, maybe staying and working with that coach.
00:08:30I think there'd be some moving pieces there when I say wouldn't rule it out.
00:08:33That's not reporting.
00:08:34That's like me saying, like, if I was in that spot and I was a new coach, I would consider
00:08:37keeping them on.
00:08:38I mean, Vrabel was just in Cleveland, right?
00:08:41So he was familiar with that Stefanski offense that van Pelt was just, and Flores is adjacent
00:08:48to it in Minnesota.
00:08:49And I think one of the other reported names, uh, with Vrabel, it was like Josh McDaniels
00:08:54and, uh, Tommy Reese, who is in Cleveland as their, I think he's their tight end past
00:08:59game coordinator coach right now.
00:09:02So I'm a little less excited about Tommy Reese having watched him in Alabama, but yeah, like
00:09:06I don't think that tree that maybe opens the door for van Pelt to stay along and, and sure.
00:09:12Absolutely.
00:09:13Yeah.
00:09:14So that's just my two cents on it again.
00:09:16I don't think it's going to happen.
00:09:17I think we're going to get, I don't know about another full year of a male.
00:09:21Like if he comes back year or two, he's on the hot seat week one, but Vrabel is going
00:09:28to get hired this cycle Flores.
00:09:31He still has that pending lawsuit against the league.
00:09:33So his situation isn't quite as clear, but he doesn't seem like someone who's going to
00:09:39get hired mid season.
00:09:41So we'll, we'll see how it plays out.
00:09:44But that would be, and I mean, that was my list last year.
00:09:46My list last year was, was Vrabel in order Vrabel Flores Mayo.
00:09:54So it's, I'm still on that list.
00:09:57Not much has changed.
00:09:58I, I also had Slowick, it was like, if they're really going to go outside the organization,
00:10:04you know, offensive coach, I've probably cooled off on Bobby Slowick a little bit.
00:10:10And again, not a great year for him.
00:10:13I go back to, I don't think a first time head coach were offense or defense is the
00:10:19answer.
00:10:20Yup.
00:10:21Experience, experience, experience, experience.
00:10:24If they're going to go a new route that that should be what they're looking for.
00:10:26So I would take Vrabel obviously like Vrabel Josh McDaniels worries me a little bit, just
00:10:32how that pairs with Drake may not only the offense, but then like the language is as
00:10:38sharp of a one 80 as you could do from what they're doing now from that to McDaniels.
00:10:43So that could be a lot for Drake May.
00:10:45I love the pairing of Flores and you get Josh McCown to come with them.
00:10:49So you get a little bit of that, you know, Kevin O'Connell, offense, Josh McCown, you
00:10:54know, worked with Drake May and Myers Park there, right?
00:10:57Yeah.
00:10:58And North Carolina at high school.
00:10:59So they have a relationship, so that would be a really good pairing, but maybe they're,
00:11:04you know, available next year.
00:11:06We can do this whole thing because again, I think we both expect to probably come back
00:11:11here next year.
00:11:13Yeah.
00:11:14On the hot seat week one.
00:11:15So this week he is, his focus is on the Buffalo Bills.
00:11:19You know, he was asked about some of those questions and reports that the crafts may
00:11:24have given him that job assurance and, you know, he just didn't really want to talk about
00:11:28it.
00:11:29He said his focus was on Josh Allen and the bills.
00:11:32Barth, would you like to apologize to Evan and I now for our MVP picks before the season
00:11:37of Josh Allen?
00:11:38Or would you like to wait until he actually gets the award when the season ends?
00:11:43I mean, I just think the fact that the whole Josh Allen MVP thing hyped up after the bills
00:11:48lost is so perfect because again, none of you get my Josh Allen take.
00:11:52It's not that he's not a good player.
00:11:54It's the fact that you're not allowed to acknowledge the 52 other players on the team or any coach
00:11:57he's ever had is playing a role in him being great.
00:12:00And yeah, it's fitting the last two weeks he's literally done everything himself.
00:12:03He scored pretty much every touchdown for them.
00:12:05So I guess he's finally living up to the way you people talk about him.
00:12:08But that was the, like, it is a solo show at this point.
00:12:12And okay, fine.
00:12:13He finally lived up to that.
00:12:14But the idea that, you know, you can't give Amari Cooper credit for the lateral player.
00:12:19You can't say Brian, uh, not Brian floors.
00:12:21You can't say Brian Dayball did a good job developing him because it takes away from
00:12:26Josh Allen and got, you know, can't dare do that.
00:12:29That's the, that's the take.
00:12:30And no, I didn't think he was going to win MVP.
00:12:32I thought they lost too much talent.
00:12:33I thought it was going to be Lamar Jackson, who, by the way, still should be in the conversation.
00:12:36He's still as, as really should Joe Burrow, as bad as the Bengals are, Joe Burrow should
00:12:41be in the MVP conversation.
00:12:42But you know, Josh Allen lost and everybody got all giddy and he's going to run away with
00:12:46it.
00:12:48So do you have any faith that this Patriots defense can stop them or like, what the hell
00:12:52are they going to have to do?
00:12:54Yeah, it's going to be, it's up a chance.
00:12:57It's going to be ugly.
00:12:58I just don't see, I mean, he, he has a hair across his ass for the Patriots.
00:13:04That's been true for years now.
00:13:05Like, I think Bill Belichick criticized him in that production meeting years ago.
00:13:10And ever since then, I'm going to guess he heard about it.
00:13:12He just locks in.
00:13:13I thought Gerard May was right today when he talked about where Josh Allen changed was
00:13:20when he started taking a profit because the book on him for years was, you know, play
00:13:25deep, play deep, and eventually he's got to get impatient and chuck you on.
00:13:29And he started doing that against the Patriots about a year before everybody else.
00:13:33That 2021 season, he played pretty recklessly except the two games against the Patriots.
00:13:40And I think that's perfect, right?
00:13:42Because he just, he, he hates, hates the Patriots.
00:13:46And I expect him to do the same again.
00:13:49And they can't even necessarily, even dropping deep, can't take away the deep stuff.
00:13:52I'm not as impressed with the bills receivers and some people, I think Keon Coleman's very
00:13:56hot and cold.
00:13:57Um, Amari Cooper is a good player, but he's not what he was.
00:14:00I think Khalil Shakir is probably their best receiver.
00:14:03I think he slept on, um, but I, yeah, it's going to be, I mean, he just hits it every
00:14:11area that, that, that they've especially struggled in this year.
00:14:15Yup.
00:14:16So how do you want to match up with those wide receivers?
00:14:20Because you know, Coleman and Cooper, they're, they're kind of these bigger guys.
00:14:23So maybe that opens the door for more Alex Austin, which we've been seeing Shakir.
00:14:29It kind of seems like a Jones's matchup, although, you know, Marcus Jones lands on the injury
00:14:33report today, uh, with, with a hip injury and then the tight ends, you know, Kincaid
00:14:37and Knox are kind of a big part of their passing attack, especially on third down, you know,
00:14:42Josh Allen really looks for those guys and Kyle Duggar mispractice today who we know,
00:14:46you know, he's been kind of a mess, uh, you know, on the field.
00:14:49So how are you trying again to, to trying to match this up, uh, to, to slow it down?
00:14:57Yeah.
00:14:58So it's, it's Gonzalez on Cooper.
00:15:00I think that's, that's pretty clear.
00:15:02He's shadowing him there.
00:15:04The Jones is on, on Shakir.
00:15:06Like you said, you keep, keep them in the slot and then you're, they have two big physical
00:15:10outside guys in Mack Hollins and Keon Coleman, and I don't need to see whichever Jones isn't
00:15:17on Shakir on that guy, because that's a mismatch that the bills are going to pick apart all
00:15:23day.
00:15:24Again, this is a game where Alex Austin should play more.
00:15:26Um, I don't know how often they have Mack Hollins and Keon Coleman on the field at the
00:15:31same time.
00:15:32I don't think it's a lot.
00:15:33Yeah.
00:15:34I don't think often when they do, I don't know what you do when they do, because you're
00:15:37going to have a mismatch on one of those guys, but well, I would imagine if it's that maybe
00:15:41Amari Cooper is getting a breather and then it's, it's Gonzalez on, on probably Coleman
00:15:46and you put Alex Austin on Mack Hollins.
00:15:48Um, but yeah, I think I, it's, it's a clear Shakir game.
00:15:53Like he's going to be in that, uh, Isaiah McKenzie role that they've struggled with
00:15:58and they're going to pick them apart.
00:16:02Hopefully yeah.
00:16:03Hopefully Marcus Jones is a good to go.
00:16:05We were, we were talking down there at practice.
00:16:06They were like, that's perfect.
00:16:07Mashup for Marcus Jones.
00:16:09Then we get out there and he's not there.
00:16:11Uh, he took a, Chris Mason had the clip on Twitter.
00:16:14He took a huge shot, Marcus Jones on the onside kick to end the Cardinals game.
00:16:19And then he was on the injury report with a hip injury.
00:16:22So not sure if that's where it all stemmed from.
00:16:24And then yeah, as people in the chat saying, you know, they have two really good tight
00:16:28ends.
00:16:29Kincaid Ashton said, even get to that cook Duggar.
00:16:32We were also saying that practice, you know, maybe if they like, how would it be encouraging
00:16:37if Gerard Mayo and DeMarcus Covington pulled something out and said, okay, on third downs,
00:16:42on any downs, when Josh Allen wants to go to Dalton Kincaid, what if we put Christian
00:16:46Gonzalez on him?
00:16:47And then Alex Oskin can take Amari Cooper.
00:16:51And uh, then Marcus Jones or Jonathan Jones is on the speedster Shakir, like throw them
00:16:55some curve ball, put Christian Gonzalez on their tight end.
00:17:00Take the guy that Josh Allen wants to go to the most.
00:17:02So that would be maybe an interesting kind of wrinkle blueprint that they could try to
00:17:06throw at them here with their best cover corner.
00:17:08Didn't we see, didn't they do something like that with, with Steph Gilmore in years past
00:17:12and I, I mean, I go back to like the, the original version of that game plan was a key
00:17:18to leave on Tony Gonzalez right down in Atlanta.
00:17:22So they could, I just, in the past they've gotten, I feel at times they've overcomplicated
00:17:30it and spun themselves this year.
00:17:33And if you try to do that against Josh Allen, she's not going to go well.
00:17:35Maybe that's like a third down matchup thing where you put Gonzalez on the tight end, but
00:17:40I'm almost at the point where you don't overcomplicate it and you just try to play it across the
00:17:45board and hold on tight.
00:17:47And you know, if you start spinning the dial and guys are out of position, he wants to
00:17:52hunt big plays and he'll, he'll check it down all day.
00:17:56Like he'll do this now.
00:17:57He wouldn't do this in the past.
00:17:58He'll check it down all day and methodically March down the field, especially against you.
00:18:04I'm okay with that.
00:18:05If you start scrambling it and they start going big play, big play, big play.
00:18:09Now you're in what essentially becomes a more challenging version of the Rams game.
00:18:14Yup.
00:18:15Especially with all, you know, Joe Brady's done a really good job with kind of their
00:18:19misdirection and all that sort of stuff.
00:18:21And we've seen the communication issues in the Patriots secondary, uh, the last few weeks.
00:18:25So maybe try to keep things a little simpler that, yeah, that would probably be like a
00:18:29third down wrinkle if they do want to get a little creative, uh, with Christian Gonzalez
00:18:33there.
00:18:34So maybe, maybe we'll see something there.
00:18:35Meanwhile, as doom and gloom as we are, did you know, this isn't the biggest spread in
00:18:39the NFL this week?
00:18:40Really?
00:18:41I was very surprised to see that.
00:18:42It's 14, right?
00:18:43This 14 Packers at saints is 14 and a half and like, that's, that's, that's lopsided,
00:18:52but it's in new Orleans too.
00:18:54So that's a team getting 14 and a half at home in the NFL.
00:18:57You never see that.
00:18:59Is Jake Hayner or Spencer Rattler starting?
00:19:01Cause that would explain it.
00:19:02If it's Jake Hayner.
00:19:03I don't know, but even still is, is Drake may worth alone that many points.
00:19:13I would say it's just Josh Allen versus defense.
00:19:17Like even if like, even if Drake may puts up 25 points, like, would you be surprised
00:19:24if Buffalo's drops 45 on you and covers a two touchdown to it?
00:19:28I guess that's true.
00:19:29I mean, it's, it's Toyota thon Jordan loves, so they could pull away from the saints pretty
00:19:34easily.
00:19:35Yeah.
00:19:36Yeah.
00:19:37And we haven't even talked about, I don't know.
00:19:38I was kind of surprised when I saw that, yeah, especially, yeah, especially because the saints
00:19:43are at home.
00:19:45Usually don't see that.
00:19:46Although weren't the, uh, weren't the Panthers just home under home favorite.
00:19:50That's the thing.
00:19:51Like they're at home.
00:19:52Yeah, no, it was, uh, the Panthers were home favorites, but there was, I think the giants
00:19:59at home were like, Oh yeah, that was a half against the Ravens or something like that.
00:20:04I think that, and I don't think they covered that right now, Lamar through like five touchdowns.
00:20:14It was, let me try to pull it up, but, but, but they won by, yeah, it was a, a 21 point
00:20:21game.
00:20:22Yeah.
00:20:23And the spread was 16 and a half.
00:20:24So yeah, they, they covered.
00:20:25Yeah.
00:20:27Yeah.
00:20:28Um, yeah.
00:20:29Oh no.
00:20:30Hang on.
00:20:31Oh yeah.
00:20:32Yeah.
00:20:33They did.
00:20:34Yep.
00:20:35Um, are the backers at home?
00:20:36Somebody in the comments said the Packers at home.
00:20:40I thought when I was reading it today, it said, Oh, all right.
00:20:43The Packers are at home.
00:20:44It's a dome team going outdoors.
00:20:45Okay.
00:20:46All right.
00:20:47I, I, I, that, that makes me, I still think Patriots a bigger spread, but yeah, that makes
00:20:55more sense.
00:20:56Two 14 point spreads in one week though.
00:21:00Go NFL.
00:21:01Again, the product, where are you at with the product?
00:21:06I know Felger wants to talk about Falcons, uh, Raiders being more watchable and Clemson
00:21:14LSU.
00:21:15I don't know, Brian, I'll take that Clemson LSU game every day over that.
00:21:19Those two, both of those Monday night games, frankly, I'll take it over both of them.
00:21:23One of those is a division game.
00:21:24Those are supposed to be the best games.
00:21:26I wouldn't thinking it might be a good game.
00:21:27I will take the ACC championship over that dribble any day.
00:21:34That was rough.
00:21:35The ghost of Kirk Cousins versus Desmond Ritter should not see the light of prime time TV.
00:21:41Yeah.
00:21:42Michael panics.
00:21:43That's going to be fun to watch that.
00:21:44That'll be interesting.
00:21:45But, um, we'll get to college football, uh, in a second, anything else with that Patriots
00:21:50defense?
00:21:51I mean, we didn't even talk about James Cook in the run game.
00:21:54We know the Patriots run defense issues like Josh Allen might not even have to be a factor
00:21:58if you didn't want to, in this game, they could probably just hand the ball off to James
00:22:01Cook all day and feast in that area.
00:22:03But, uh, anything with that or anything else with this, just this Patriots defense going
00:22:08against Josh Allen to wrap that side of the ball up?
00:22:10Yeah, honestly, that's a good point.
00:22:12I wouldn't be surprised if they don't throw a ton, you know, maybe they go out there and
00:22:16it's, you know, we want to let Josh Allen hunt his MVP, but it's going to be really
00:22:20cold.
00:22:21It's going to be windy.
00:22:22It's against inferior opponent.
00:22:23Like the Patriots play.
00:22:25How many times did we see the Patriots play this game and it was take care of business,
00:22:29get out healthy, right?
00:22:30Shorten the game, keep that clock running, just get in, get out, do what you need to
00:22:34do.
00:22:35If the bills are smart, that's what they'll do.
00:22:36It'll be, you know, probably come out throwing early, get up and then final 45 minutes.
00:22:43You're just running the ball and keeping the clock churning up to three scores.
00:22:47Like that's if I'm the bills, that's the game I'm playing.
00:22:50I don't need to unleash now again, they, it's a cocky organization.
00:22:57Do they try to unleash Josh Allen and, and stat pad and all that maybe.
00:23:03But if I'm them, I'm, I'm coming out running the ball.
00:23:05I'm coming out and, and just let's, let's keep this clock moving and let's get this
00:23:10thing over with and get out of here.
00:23:12Healthy.
00:23:13Yep.
00:23:14And James James Cook has been pretty good this, this year.
00:23:17So maybe, uh, he'll be in our prize picks lineup.
00:23:20And speaking of prize picks, before we go to the offense side of the football, you just

00:24:26All right.
00:24:27Uh, going to the offense side of the football for the Patriots.
00:24:30We talked, uh, you know, Monday after the Cardinals game, the game plan for Alexander
00:24:37Pell and Drake may, it was a lot of these short passes, you know, his average area yard
00:24:42per attempt.
00:24:43Uh, halftime was negative.
00:24:44He threw about seven screen passes and you, you get why they want to do it.
00:24:48They don't trust this offensive line, but would you like to see them?
00:24:52You know, you saw the second half when he airs it out a little bit more, I think his
00:24:55average area yards in the second half was 12, right around 12 yards.
00:24:59So you see him push the ball downfield a little bit more.
00:25:01I get it was against these base coverages.
00:25:04You know, the game was pretty much undecided garbage time, but you saw the success a little
00:25:09bit more when they let Drake may push it.
00:25:11So a, they might have to just cause they might be trailing in this one and they might just
00:25:16have to throw the ball.
00:25:17But would you like that approach out of the gate here against Buffalo to kind of put the
00:25:23ball in Drake Mays hands and let's see what the rookie can do and try to keep you competitive
00:25:29for as long as possible.
00:25:31Absolutely.
00:25:32Like, look, if you're going to have a shot at winning this game, you got to come out
00:25:36and be aggressive.
00:25:37You can't, you got to take the game to them.
00:25:40It's not going to come to you.
00:25:42It's not going to be this tug of war back and forth.
00:25:44Like you got to get them on their heels early.
00:25:45If you can get a lead and kind of force them into an uncomfortable situation, that's what
00:25:51you have to do.
00:25:52So I, I, I'd absolutely let it rip with Drake may not just throw them.
00:25:55I'd let him run the ball too.
00:25:56And I know they don't want to do that, but you know, they don't have tape on it or anything.
00:26:00I'd mix one of those.
00:26:01I've seen my opening 15th place grip if they're really coming out and trying to win this game.
00:26:04So yeah, I, they, they need to be more aggressive.
00:26:08Will they be, I don't know the offensive line, if it changes, all you're getting is a guy
00:26:13who's never snapped the game at the college or pro level coming in at center.
00:26:18So they might be conservative again and they may have the opinion of, they may come in
00:26:23with the approach of like this quarterbacks or future we're three and 11, let's just get
00:26:28out of here.
00:26:29Healthy.
00:26:30I don't know who approaches the bills, but if, if, if they're really going to go for
00:26:35it, you got to come out guns blazing.
00:26:37Yeah.
00:26:38Let them throw, let them let Drake cook.
00:26:40That's your best chance for success.
00:26:42It wasn't a coincidence, you know, again, it was garbage time, but I don't think it's
00:26:45a coincidence that two times they found the end zone.
00:26:48It came after Drake pushed the ball downfield and then in the red area, he makes a play
00:26:52with his legs, you know, out of structure, playground mode, uh, to find, to, you know,
00:26:57score points because the longer this team is on the field and they try to go on these
00:27:02methodical long drives of, you know, seven yards to Hunter Henry, five yards, slant the
00:27:07case on booty and, you know, go in like this, just a longer time for a ball to go off of
00:27:12receiver's hands and get intercepted or a holding penalty to, to knock them back.
00:27:17So just let Drake, you know, put the ball in Drake's hands.
00:27:21That's kind of your best way I think to try and stay competitive is let him make plays,
00:27:26but they do have to protect them.
00:27:27You mentioned that offensive line.
00:27:28Are you expecting a change there?
00:27:31Didn't look that way in practice today, but as we've seen with this team, like Thursday
00:27:36and Friday, they can shuffle things up on the offensive line.
00:27:39So are you expecting maybe Cole strange or Caden Wallace?
00:27:43They have an open roster spot.
00:27:44If they're ready to activate him, are you expecting, or would you push for a change
00:27:49up on that offensive line?
00:27:52I think we're going to see it just cause Ben Brown couldn't get the ball snapped last week.
00:27:55And I also think that they want to see Cole stranger center.
00:27:58I also wonder if we get Caden Wallace at right tackle charade Mayo's asked today about filling
00:28:02that open roster spot and kind of said like, Hey, we're not going to do it today, which
00:28:06leads me to believe that it's, it's earmarked for somebody Caden Wallace would be the guy
00:28:09to be activated.
00:28:11So I think we're going to see changes.
00:28:15I don't know how much change in terms of the production those changes will lead to.
00:28:20I think it's going to look more or less the same.
00:28:22You hope Caden Wallace gives you a little bit more at right tackle.
00:28:25I think outside of clean snaps, Cole stranger is more or less going to give you what he
00:28:28gives you at center.
00:28:30But I, even if the personnel changes, like it's still, and I, I could see to Brian to
00:28:37kind of put these two points together.
00:28:38They come out wanting to sling it.
00:28:41Drake may get hit early and then suddenly it's back in the shell.
00:28:45They turtle up.
00:28:46Yeah.
00:28:47Yeah.
00:28:48Yep.
00:28:49Yeah.
00:28:50I'm kind of with you on that.
00:28:51So we'll, we'll see what's in store on the offensive line.
00:28:53Any changes you expect to shake out with those skill players?
00:28:57Like we, we were pushing for more Antonio Gibson Javon Baker did return to practice
00:29:03today with that concussion, which he said he suffered with a, a car accident.
00:29:08So that was, you know, that kind of mystery will on a day off concussion, it was a car
00:29:12accident, but he was, you know, luckily and, and, you know, back out there practicing today.
00:29:16We were, we would like to see more of him over Keisha booty, I think.
00:29:20So are you expecting anything with that group or want to see anything out of that group
00:29:25here to, to, yeah.
00:29:26And Buffalo?
00:29:27No, I I'm not, it would be nice to see a little more and I don't even know how it would go,
00:29:32but it'd be nice to see Javon Baker to see what you have.
00:29:34But the fact that the coaches have talked about not seeing what they want to see from
00:29:38him to practice and he misses a full week, it's not his fault, but he misses a full week.
00:29:42Right.
00:29:43At that probably doesn't help his progress.
00:29:45I still think Jalen Polk's like playing a sneaky amount.
00:29:48It just doesn't feel like it because he's not doing anything.
00:29:50So maybe he takes some snaps from Keisha booty.
00:29:52We see Kendrick Bourne more at the X, but I think the receiver rotation is more or less
00:29:57what it's going to be at this point.
00:29:58Yep.
00:29:59All right.
00:30:00And then we'll wrap up with some special teams.
00:30:04We're still on Joey's sly watch after another missed kick.
00:30:08And then kind of the big one, Marcus Jones, if he's out, what are they going to do at
00:30:12punt return?
00:30:14Alex Erickson today, who has some punt returning experience, finally got a Wisconsin badger,
00:30:21go badgers and back in the locker room.
00:30:23So maybe he gets a call up or it's just, you know, Pop Douglas has been the backup.
00:30:28So we'll see what happens at punt returner.
00:30:30But what are you looking at in that special teams unit?
00:30:34Another Buffalo kick return.
00:30:36We've seen those go both ways the last few years.
00:30:38But what are you looking at?
00:30:40You know, David wants to say David wants to know, will they activate the practice squad
00:30:43kicker or what's going on in that unit if they're going to go returner?
00:30:48I wonder if Alex Erickson, who is signed to the practice squad today, led in obviously
00:30:52was a different kick return, but led the NFL and kick return yards as a rookie and a guy
00:30:56that was a return specialist for the Bengals.
00:30:58That was a few years ago, but he was.
00:31:00I wonder if maybe he gets a look if Marcus Jones is out to Mario Douglas has been the
00:31:05backup returner.
00:31:07Worried about long-term injuries.
00:31:09These last few games, like we've kind of seen them with Drake.
00:31:11Pop Douglas is another guy that I think you'd worry about in that regard.
00:31:14So maybe it's Antonio Gibson.
00:31:16Maybe we finally see Isaiah Bolden.
00:31:17I wouldn't sleep on.
00:31:18Maybe Alex Erickson, Alex Erickson getting a rep as well.
00:31:22Yeah.
00:31:23And Michael Hastie, who's been one of their two primary kick returner, also was a DNP
00:31:28with an ankle injury, I believe.
00:31:30So they could be down there, top kick returner and top partner turner.
00:31:34So you're going to have to see some shake up.
00:31:36And it's interesting that they signed Erickson today, who has that experience.
00:31:40So maybe he gets the promotion.
00:31:43Jason wants to see in the chat Bolden too.
00:31:45We all do.
00:31:46I don't think it's going to happen.
00:31:47Talking to the coaches, it just doesn't, even talking to Bolden at times, it doesn't seem
00:31:53something that's on the coaching staff's radar, which is disappointing, but it doesn't seem
00:31:58like that's going to, he's going to get a shot at some point.
00:32:03So that is Patriots at Bills.
00:32:06We can wrap up this preview and then with our prize picks lineup, and then we can talk
00:32:12about some college football and some draft prospects that'll be taking the stage this
00:32:17week.
00:32:18So any, anyone you're thinking specifically for this?
00:32:23I mean, we just take more on whatever on Josh Allen.
00:32:27I mean, Drake May is 207 and a half pass yards.
00:32:31He might just get that in garbage.
00:32:33That's not a bad.
00:32:34All right.
00:32:35We'll go more on that.
00:32:36Okay.
00:32:37So let's pull up and let's pull up Josh Allen.
00:32:39He's two 39 and a half pass yards.
00:32:45Josh Allen, 44 and a half rush yards, two and a half pass touchdowns or an interception.
00:32:52Do they have like pass plus rush yards or cause the two 44, it's just again, like if
00:32:58they go in that shell, if they just decide we're going to run the ball and get this over
00:33:02with.
00:33:03I know that's, they don't have the total.
00:33:07It's just two 39 and a half pass or 44 and a half touchdowns.
00:33:12They might throw it on the red zone just to cut out the overly physical carries.
00:33:15They might throw it down more than two and a half pass touchdowns.
00:33:19So that's a lot.
00:33:20Three pass.
00:33:21Do you think he'll throw an interception?
00:33:22He's been really good with the turnovers this year.
00:33:24He doesn't throw interceptions against Patriots.
00:33:26That's true.
00:33:28He does.
00:33:29They drop them.
00:33:30They draw.
00:33:31Yeah.
00:33:32He throws them to the Patriots.
00:33:33They, that JC Jackson, one man is still, they win that game.
00:33:36If JC Jackson picks that ball off and they get back to the playoffs, the second, whatever
00:33:42bill might be here.
00:33:43JC Jackson picks up all of James Cook is 65 and a half rush yards, 80 and a half total
00:33:49yards, 65 and a half rush yards.
00:33:53Yeah.
00:33:54I could see that.
00:33:55Yeah.
00:33:56Yeah.
00:33:57Uh, then we can throw some other Patriots players in here.
00:33:59Uh, let's see what we got, uh, Hooper, 22 and a half receiving yards to Mario Douglas,
00:34:0534 and a half receiving yards, uh, Hunter Henry, 40 and a half receiving yards.
00:34:11Hunter Henry touchdown is the demon time.
00:34:13So extra, what do they have for a Stevenson?
00:34:17The one weakness for the bills this year has been the run defense, 44 and a half rush yards
00:34:26for Stevenson.
00:34:27Yeah.
00:34:28Or if you, like, if you're worried about the whole garbage time, like 59 and a half
00:34:33total yards for Stevenson, I actually, I like that.
00:34:37Yeah.
00:34:38That he should get there.
00:34:39Cause there's also going to be, they're going to throw a ton of check downs and stuff like
00:34:41that.
00:34:42And you might get it on 10, you know, or on 20 touches, it might be 60 yards on 20 touches,
00:34:46but it's all that matters as long as he gets it, uh, Keisha on booty, 24 and a half receiving
00:34:53yards.
00:34:54I mean, we can do less.
00:34:55We never go, we never really go less.
00:34:58That's one.
00:34:59I'd probably go less on.
00:35:00I'm down to do less.
00:35:01Cause again, I think, I think he should just be out of the lineup for Jayvon Baker at this
00:35:05point.
00:35:06Uh, we can go less there.
00:35:08So that's for, uh, let's do one more Patriot and then, or we can do one more bill even
00:35:16let's do bills and then we'll do our random.
00:35:19We have to, do we have to do that saints Packers game?
00:35:22I think that I'm looking at the schedule, right?
00:35:24All Jaguars Raiders is pretty gross.
00:35:26That's pretty gross to Jaguars Raiders might be an objectively grosser game that that's
00:35:32very fair.
00:35:33Just, uh, some other bills, players, Amari Cooper, 35 and a half receiving yards, Kincaid
00:35:3837 and a half.
00:35:39Oh, I'd go.
00:35:40Okay.
00:35:41I wouldn't touch Cooper.
00:35:42Cause we think Gonzalez is going to be on him.
00:35:45Although I wouldn't be surprised like the, the, the Cardinals ran that pick play last
00:35:48week to get Gonzalez off Harrison.
00:35:50Now that that's on tape, I would not be surprised when more teams start doing that.
00:35:53And the bills that's certainly in their arsenal.
00:35:56I like the more than on Kincaid though, with, with the Patriots safety, safety room is like,
00:36:01and then Shakir just is 49 and a half, but I like Kincaid.
00:36:05I thought he was going to have an Isaiah McKenzie game.
00:36:07I can go either one there.
00:36:09Should we just do Kincaid?
00:36:11Let's do Kincaid less yards.
00:36:15And then, uh, what was that Jaguars Raiders?
00:36:18We get to, we, we basically just been picking Mack Jones every week.
00:36:22We've just been doing Chad Ryland or Mack Jones pretty much.
00:36:26Yeah.
00:36:27Uh, what do they got for Mack Jones?
00:36:29Let's look at, Oh no, we did Brian Thomas last week and he got it.
00:36:32Cause he just force feeds Brian Thomas the ball.
00:36:35Oh yeah.
00:36:36Uh, Mack Jones is 207 and a half pass yards last week.
00:36:41We what did we do our usual four or six last week?
00:36:44Uh, we did.
00:36:47I think so.
00:36:48I don't know if I still have the, uh, the screenshot.
00:36:52I know we, we did Keisha on booty more than 17 and a half longest reception and he hit
00:36:59like 16 yards.
00:37:00So we missed that.
00:37:01Yeah.
00:37:02I think we missed that one.
00:37:04And then, um, Austin Hooper, which are no Hunter Henry, which Taylor gave us.
00:37:10So we marked that up to Taylor, uh, Mac, 207 and a half pass yards, seven and a half rush
00:37:15yards or two 16 and a half total yards.
00:37:17What about picks?
00:37:20They don't have picks yet.
00:37:21Unfortunately, if you go back to Brian Thomas, do they have Brian Thomas?
00:37:25They don't have Brian Thomas yet.
00:37:27Unfortunately.
00:37:28Uh, was it 206 yards, 207 and a half pass yards that Raiders defense isn't like atrocious.
00:37:41Like their, their problems are on offense more than they're on defense.
00:37:44It's not that their defense is good.
00:37:45It's not their ninth in the league and pass yards allowed.
00:37:51So you want to go less?
00:37:52Yeah.
00:37:53Yeah.
00:37:54You want to try that?
00:37:56We can do that.
00:37:57All right.
00:37:58So there's our six player lineup.
00:38:01We got the perfect 25 times multiplier.
00:38:04Just how we like it.
00:38:05That consists of Drake may more than 207 and a half pass yards, James cook more than 65
00:38:11and a half rush yards.
00:38:12LaMondre Stevenson, more than 59 and a half total yards.
00:38:16Keishon booty, less than 24 and a half receiving yards, Dalton Kincaid, 37 and a half receiving
00:38:22yards more than, and Mack Jones, less than 207 and a half pass yards.
00:38:27That is again, the 25 time multiplier bonus.
00:38:30We get our lineup protection.
00:38:31So five out of six correct picks to get your money back.
00:38:36Use code C L N S. If you're a new user on prize picks, you get $50 instantly.
00:38:42After you play $5, if you play $5 on that lineup, you win $125.
00:38:47If you then want to put that $50 that you get instantly on that lineup to you at $1,250,
00:38:55some good spending money, holiday cash in your account right there on prize picks.
00:39:00So again, use code C L N S for new users.
00:39:03Get $5 or play $5, get $50 instantly will, again, we'll tweet this lineup out Sunday
00:39:10morning.
00:39:11So you guys can play along with us and this is going to be the one.
00:39:15This is we're going to win this one.
00:39:17We're running out of time to win one, but we will get one.
00:39:22So that is Patriots at bills.
00:39:24Let's transition over to some college football talk.
00:39:27College football playoff, uh, starts Friday, Friday night, right?
00:39:32Indiana, Notre Dame, India, Notre Dame in South Bend battle.
00:39:36Indiana should be an awesome game.
00:39:39Is it still supposed to snow there?
00:39:41I think it's like flurries.
00:39:43Let's see here.
00:39:44Uh, that would be awesome to add to the atmosphere.
00:39:47That would be so cool.
00:39:48So it looks like the precipitation is like 20% all day.
00:39:55So it, it, it all, my guess is that it'll be a snowy environment.
00:39:59Oh no, wait, that's today.
00:40:00Yeah.
00:40:01No.
00:40:02All right.
00:40:03It's like 20% all day.
00:40:04So my guess is like, you'll at least get like the snow piles on the side of the field and
00:40:07you know, in the stands and stuff like that, we'll get the, yeah, the aura, the snow aura.
00:40:13Um, so eight o'clock on Friday, this, would you say this is probably like the least amount
00:40:19of like the one game with like the least NFL kind of alert to it if you're looking at it
00:40:24from a prospect, uh, point of view?
00:40:27Um, yes and no.
00:40:29There are Notre Dame has some players.
00:40:31Now their top prospect is hurt.
00:40:32He's a corner whose name is escaping you right now.
00:40:35Uh, Ben Morrison, Ben Morrison.
00:40:37Yeah.
00:40:38So he's out.
00:40:39He's out for the year.
00:40:40I don't think he's, I'm pretty sure he's not playing the playoff at all.
00:40:43Um, and yeah, that, that, that Indiana team, they have some interesting kind of depth names
00:40:50to know.
00:40:51And I don't know how many top 100 picks on either side of the ball, Notre Dame is a safety
00:40:57Xavier Watts.
00:40:58Um, and by the way, I put out this morning, one player to watch on each team in the college
00:41:01football playoffs.
00:41:02So we can do that.
00:41:04And Brad, if you want to play along with yours, but I don't, not a ton of top 100 picks in
00:41:08this game.
00:41:09Yeah.
00:41:10Who'd you have for, uh, did you have more, or you didn't have more, who'd you have for
00:41:15Notre Dame?
00:41:16They're your player to watch.
00:41:18So for Notre Dame, I had Mitchell Evans, the tight end, and we've talked about, you
00:41:24know, do you find that tight end on day three, sign them, uh, you know, you bring them in.
00:41:30He's under Henry replaces Hooper as the second tight end to start the season.
00:41:35And then, you know, in a year or two takes over as the primary tight end, very like old
00:41:40school tight end kind of guy.
00:41:42He's going to play in line.
00:41:43He's going to block his ass off.
00:41:45He's going to win with physicality more than athleticism.
00:41:48Um, but they've made it work with those guys.
00:41:51So again, projected like mid day three pick exactly where they should be taking a tight
00:41:56end.
00:41:58It doesn't help that.
00:41:59Like even the prospects, Notre Dame has don't line up a ton with the Patriots needs.
00:42:06So it's sort of by default, but definitely a guy that I could see as a Patriot.
00:42:10Yep.
00:42:11And then, uh, Indiana, did you have a, their edge rusher?
00:42:14I can't think of his name right now, but he's, he's probably, yeah, uh, Michael, but it's
00:42:19spelt M I K a I L or might be McHale Kamara, uh, Mara second in the nation, least nation
00:42:27sec.
00:42:28Is he related to the Kamara from, uh, Colorado state, Colorado state, but they're very similar
00:42:34players like undersized, very strong, high motor edge rushers.
00:42:41Like I had that thought cause they play the game incredibly similarly.
00:42:45Um, but you know, what do you do with him?
00:42:49It's tough to say again at his size, but dude gets after the quarterback plays with a ton
00:42:54of energy.
00:42:55He'll be fun to watch.
00:42:56They have a receiver to, uh, Surratt, I forget his first name.
00:43:01Um, hang on.
00:43:03I have it right here.
00:43:04Uh, Elijah Surratt, who like you look at a bunch of lists of like draft sleepers and
00:43:10his name comes up a ton bigger receiver, good body control catch point.
00:43:15He's slow and it's just like, yeah, the Patriots don't let another team figure that out.
00:43:20I'm good with that guy here.
00:43:23Someone else can do that.
00:43:24Uh, yeah, I like Kamara, uh, as a late round, one of those late round ad rushers, but yeah,
00:43:29he's six one, like two 65, right, right around two 60.
00:43:34So he is that he's a weird type of body type, uh, to put on the edge, but he is quick as
00:43:40hell.
00:43:41Like he, he can get after the quarterback, so, uh, he'll be fun to watch.
00:43:44So that's kind of Indiana, Notre Dame, or are you taking Notre Dame in that one?
00:43:49I'm taking Notre Dame in that one.
00:43:50Yup.
00:43:51And I'm, I think it's seven and a half.
00:43:52I took them to cover too.
00:43:53I just, we saw what Indiana looked like against Ohio state.
00:43:57I think it's the same kind of game.
00:44:00Yup.
00:44:01All right.
00:44:02Then, uh, Saturday we have three games starting off at noon SMU at Penn state, obviously Abdul
00:44:09Carter, the big name, uh, to watch on that Penn state defense.
00:44:13We've talked a lot about him, you know, potential or probably locked into the top 10, uh, top
00:44:18edge rusher in this class.
00:44:20So any thoughts on Abdul Carter or who are your other prospects you're watching?
00:44:25I know Penn state has some, some good players, uh, in that game.
00:44:29Well, the, the big question for Abdul Carter is defending the run.
00:44:34And when you look at their path against an SMU team that runs the ball well, and then
00:44:38against they win it's Gente and Boise state.
00:44:41And if he has to bowl next week, like what a great opportunity for him to prove himself
00:44:46and in this area, that's a weakness for him.
00:44:49So that that's what I'm the most excited about for Carter.
00:44:52I expect him to take over this game against SMU.
00:44:55That line isn't great.
00:44:56Uh, Kevin Jennings is pretty elusive, but Carter's athleticism, I think negates that
00:45:02I'm expecting him to have a good game in this one.
00:45:04I'm expecting him a dominant game in this one.
00:45:06And then it'll be interesting to see what he does against Boise state specifically against
00:45:09the run game.
00:45:10Yup.
00:45:11And then Penn state, you know, Tyler Warren's a tight end.
00:45:14We've talked a lot.
00:45:15Tyler Warren's another good run, you know, that's going to be, uh, probably your second
00:45:19pick, you know, maybe you have to trade up even from, you know, in the second round to
00:45:24get him.
00:45:25So, uh, but he, he's a really fun, you know, kind of versatile tight end, uh, their quarterback
00:45:30drew Allers going back to school.
00:45:32So, you know, he can't make a late surge shocker kind of for a quarterback needy team.
00:45:38You know, that's something else we always talk about.
00:45:40Like this is, these playoffs are set up where someone can really, you know, take their draft
00:45:45stock and, you know, really skyrocket it.
00:45:48So, uh, not going to be drew out or he's going back to school, but, um, I don't think many
00:45:53other big guys for, uh, Penn state, right.
00:45:57They have, I mean, the running backs pretty good, but he's probably a day three guy.
00:46:03I think he's one of the higher ranked running backs.
00:46:06Um, wow.
00:46:07Tyler Warren's all the way up to 12 on the consensus board.
00:46:12Really high.
00:46:13Yeah.
00:46:14That's for a tight end.
00:46:15That's that's nuts.
00:46:16Um, hang on.
00:46:17I'm trying to find their, uh, their list here.
00:46:19Um, no, but I, I think that's pretty much it for them.
00:46:23They got a couple of underclassmen like guys we'll talk about next year.
00:46:26Um, yeah, Nick Singleton could sneak into day two, but that's pretty much it for them.
00:46:31I'll give you one for, for SMU is an interesting player.
00:46:34It's Elijah Roberts.
00:46:35So first off he's a Miami transfer.
00:46:37So he has a previous relationship with, uh, Alonzo Highsmith, who's obviously in the Pat's
00:46:41front office and advisor there.
00:46:43Uh, really?
00:46:45So I, he's listed it at, what was he six, three.
00:46:50Yeah.
00:46:51So I want to find the height and make sure I get that right.
00:46:54But most places have him listed, uh, yeah, six, four, two 95 college football reference
00:47:03has him at two 70.
00:47:04Everybody else has him at two 95.
00:47:06So maybe he lost weight, but he looks like he's in the two nineties, but they stand them
00:47:10up and rush them off the edge like a linebacker.
00:47:13And he has, you know, I think he's fourth in the nation and pressures among fat power
00:47:17five guys, another guy that plays with a high motor and you'd think, all right, this big
00:47:21stout guy that's playing on the edge.
00:47:25He's going to be a force kind of in the ground game.
00:47:28He's a pure pass rusher.
00:47:29Like he's not good against the run.
00:47:31So you have this really interesting tweener kind of reminds me of Byron coward where Byron
00:47:35coward was caught in between.
00:47:37And do you put on 10 pounds and become an early down end and then rush from the interior
00:47:43pass rush from the interior on third downs, or do you take off 15, 20 pounds, stand up,
00:47:47become an edge rusher coward.
00:47:49And this decision was made before he got to the NFL.
00:47:51So it's a little different.
00:47:53It's really interesting.
00:47:54If you listen to Byron coward, talk about his time at going to floor, uh, was it Florida
00:47:58state and, and why that may have been a mistake for him.
00:48:03Um, they, he wanted to play outside linebacker.
00:48:06They turned it into a defensive lineman and he lost his explosiveness.
00:48:09Meanwhile, he's still in the league.
00:48:10Uh, yeah, it was Auburn, um, sorry, it's Auburn that where he did that, but, um, kind of that
00:48:16same thing.
00:48:18All right.
00:48:19This guy's like two 90 and he's standing up.
00:48:20Are we going to trim him down so he can play standing up in the NFL and just make him like
00:48:23a dedicated pass rusher?
00:48:25So you put on 15 pounds, you hope he gets better against the run and he becomes, you
00:48:30know, either a quick end or an interior pass rusher or something like that.
00:48:34Yeah.
00:48:35I just looked it up.
00:48:36He was among edge rushers and interior, uh, defenders.
00:48:41He was seventh with 55 pressures this year.
00:48:46Uh, Kamara, who we were just talking about was just ahead of him, right?
00:48:49He was tied for second, uh, with BC's Donovan as a Rocky with 61 total pressures.
00:48:55So yeah, they're both up there.
00:48:57And then Abdul Carter was 10th with 51 pressures.
00:48:59So a lot of edge rushers, a lot of edge rushers.
00:49:02So my list today was like half edge rushers and we'll talk, didn't even get a wide receiver
00:49:09on there.
00:49:11There's not many, most of the top receivers are not in the playoff.
00:49:16Texas has a couple of guys, but yeah, I was going to say bond.
00:49:19So like, that's probably the top guy, right?
00:49:23Isaiah bond.
00:49:24Uh, I think it's bond, uh, well, Ibuka, Ibuka bond, and then Oregon, it's Oregon that has
00:49:32a couple of guys and that's pretty much it for the top 100.
00:49:35But when you talk about Oregon, you're talking about Josh Connerly tackle.
00:49:39I would say Josh Connerly is much more of a name to know for the Patriots than either
00:49:43the Oregon receivers.
00:49:45Same thing for, for Calvin Banks at Texas, Ibuka.
00:49:48You could make the argument, Ohio state's weird.
00:49:50If you want to just jump to this game here, Brian, uh, as we're kind of jumping around
00:49:55Ohio state's weird.
00:49:56Cause like when I looked at Ohio state and it was like, what player, cause I, I made
00:50:02myself stick.
00:50:03I could have done 30 players.
00:50:04I'm like, I'm going to stick to one player per team.
00:50:06So I don't spend a month writing this.
00:50:08And it's like, well, after we go into next round, do we get a new article with different
00:50:14players this time?
00:50:15So what I think I'm going to do is when we get to the final four, I'm going to do like
00:50:1920 players in the fight.
00:50:21Cause that's, I used to do like 20 players in the college football playoff when it was
00:50:2514.
00:50:26So I'll probably reset.
00:50:27Cause I included in this, I included the teams that have buys.
00:50:29So, um, but you know, when I, when I got to Ohio state, it's like, who do you pick?
00:50:36Cause it's not just, they have so much talent and they probably have more talent in this
00:50:41draft I would say than any team in the country.
00:50:43I don't think there's a team that has the bulk amount of like true upside talent that
00:50:49Ohio state has, but it's also guys that, that fit the needs for the Patriots, right?
00:50:53It met a book.
00:50:54They need a receiver.
00:50:55Uh, both of the edge guys, Jack Sawyer, T uh, I always butcher it to him allow.
00:51:01I think it is JT to him allow fits both running backs, fits both corners, scares me, but fits
00:51:07ladies late and ran them their safety of fit.
00:51:10You could argue will Howard, if they're going to do the, we draft the quarterback every
00:51:13year kind of thing, stylistically fit Seth McLaughlin, they need a center fit.
00:51:19Like it's half that team could be Patriots.
00:51:21I wouldn't be surprised if they take more than one guy from Ohio state this year.
00:51:25So I went with Jack Sawyer cause I was going to go with the edge guys.
00:51:28I think that they are pound for pound, make the most sense for the Patriots.
00:51:32And I went with him over JTT cause stylistically he's a little bit better of fit.
00:51:35And I liked that.
00:51:36He's kind of an a-hole on the field and they need that, that, that edge, that, that, that
00:51:41anger to them, but like blindfold yourself, throw a dart at the Ohio state roster.
00:51:49You'll find a guy who realistically could be a Patriot.
00:51:52Even like Josh Simmons, he's not playing because he's hurt, but like, there you go.
00:51:56There's another left.
00:51:57Tackle.
00:51:58Josh Simmons was healthy.
00:51:59I probably would've gone with Josh Simmons, but he's not, he's not playing.
00:52:01So he's not in playoff.
00:52:03Yeah.
00:52:04I mean, they have, as you said, a ton of talent, you know, even you mentioned the corners on
00:52:08day three, you know, Denzel Burke and Davison, uh, how do you, how, how do you say his last
00:52:15name?
00:52:16Igbenosin.
00:52:17Igbenosin.
00:52:18Like scary players cause they're hit or miss as some of those Ohio state corners are, but
00:52:24maybe they have a good playoff and kind of push themselves up the board.
00:52:27I'm most excited for this game.
00:52:29I think just to see how Ohio state plays, cause you know, they get embarrassed by Michigan.
00:52:35It's Ryan day.
00:52:37They have the talent to win it all, but are they just going to kind of pack it in or will
00:52:42they punch back?
00:52:43And you'll probably be able to tell within the first couple of series, like how they're
00:52:47going to play.
00:52:48So I'm excited to see that one against Tennessee.
00:52:51You know, the meme, sorry, you know, the mean people use of like Jimmy Garoppolo jogging
00:52:55onto the field.
00:52:56Superbowl 29.
00:52:57That's right.
00:52:58Ohio state team.
00:52:59It's, it's a whole lot, but it's really Ryan day to everything you just said, you get embarrassed
00:53:03by Michigan.
00:53:04You, you know, calls for jobs left and right.
00:53:08You have Tennessee, uh, an sec South team coming up to a freezing cold Ohio stadium,
00:53:16right?
00:53:17You have that home field advantage in the playoff.
00:53:19You should be pissed to all hell.
00:53:21All of that.
00:53:22If they don't respond, that's that like Ryan day.
00:53:25Do it.
00:53:26If they don't win this game, Ryan day's never going to win a national championship.
00:53:29He might never be Michigan again.
00:53:31Like this is, this is for Ryan day online.
00:53:33Ohio state should win this game.
00:53:35I'm sticking with my preseason pick of Ohio state.
00:53:37I hate that I'm doing it because Oregon's going to win the national championship.
00:53:41But I said, Ohio state had the talent to win in spite of Ryan day.
00:53:45They're still the most talented team in this tournament.
00:53:47I still think they are.
00:53:49Yep.
00:53:50In terms of the roster, the coaching staff, not so much, especially if, um, Brian Hartline's
00:53:55finally taking interviews, which is when you know, it's bad.
00:53:58Ohio state loses Brian Hartline.
00:53:59I thought I saw that he took one interview, um, wow, that's a couple of weeks ago.
00:54:06Let me look, what will life be like if we don't have people asking us, can they interview
00:54:12Brian Hartline for wide receiver coach?
00:54:15If he takes another job or we'll probably still be getting asked.
00:54:19I mean, the fact that no NFL team has thrown him, uh, he interviewed a West Virginia, West
00:54:30Virginia.
00:54:31Hmm.
00:54:32Yeah.
00:54:33My guess would be OC no head coach.
00:54:37Oh, interesting.
00:54:40My guess would be that West Virginia can't give him the setup that he wants.
00:54:46Yeah, right.
00:54:47I mean, it's not going to go unless it's a perfect setup, but yeah, when Ohio state loses
00:54:52Brian Hartline, that's, that's that at that point now you're just red Northwestern.
00:55:00They lost a receiver in the portal to Wisconsin today.
00:55:03So that's, that's how, you know, Ohio state could be going down bad.
00:55:07Now it's like a four year guy who barely plays for them, but you don't lose wide receivers
00:55:12to Wisconsin if you're Ohio state.
00:55:14So that's it.
00:55:15They, they couldn't figure out the highest wide receiver crew they ever had before Julian
00:55:18Fleming.
00:55:19Yeah.
00:55:20So, or no, before, um, it is Julian Fleming who's Marv's no, the guy they have now.
00:55:27Oh, um, Ryan, Ryan, no, Jeremiah Smith, Alabama, Jeremiah Smith.
00:55:34Yeah.
00:55:35Yeah.
00:55:36Um, so yeah, we'll, we'll see how Ohio state looks, uh, on the other side, Tennessee, it's
00:55:40really James Pierce, just another edge rusher.
00:55:43Uh, he was right in there with the top 10 with those rest of those guys.
00:55:47He was eighth in the nation, uh, with 53 pressures this year.
00:55:51Are you, uh, he's kind of been from the pre draft process, you know, when people come
00:55:57out with their way too early big boards, like a week after the NFL draft, you know, he was
00:56:02the guy who could be up there and you'd see in the top five and now you kind of see them
00:56:07sprinkled in and the later at first round, like where are you kind of at with, with
00:56:12James Pierce here entering the college football playoff?
00:56:17He's are you willing to use a first round pick on a guy that's situational?
00:56:21I just, with his build and his play strength, I don't think he's ever going to be a three
00:56:26down player.
00:56:27Now he's an excellent pass rusher on pass rush talent.
00:56:32He is a first rounder, but usually you don't use a first round pick on a situational player
00:56:37on a guy that's only going to be on the field 45, 50% of the time.
00:56:40The Patriots are not in position to make that kind of pick.
00:56:43Certainly not without trading down significantly.
00:56:45You know, if, if this was 10 years ago and they're picking in the mid twenties, yeah,
00:56:53it'd be a little more justified.
00:56:54Um, I still like, we'll see again, you talk about how guys can grow there.
00:57:01They're draft stock in this and we're Tennessee's at Ohio state likes to run the ball.
00:57:06Good run team, Oregon likes to run the ball.
00:57:10Good run team.
00:57:12Probably not be Mike at Arizona state in a semifinal.
00:57:14Like he's going to have a chance to show what he can do as a run defender.
00:57:18But I just, I don't think he makes sense for the Patriots.
00:57:20I had him as my player to watch cause he's one of these top edge rushers.
00:57:24There is one other guy though.
00:57:25I will say, don't, don't sleep on Dylan Sampson.
00:57:28We know they might need a running back and for what they've kind of, the way they've
00:57:32used backs the last few years, it's no more that early down third down back, right?
00:57:38We're going to throw this guy, the ball, this guy's going to run between the tackles.
00:57:42Everybody does a little bit of everything.
00:57:44Tennessee had one of the lowest pass rates in the nation this year.
00:57:46That offense is built around Dylan Sampson.
00:57:49He does everything for them projected day three pick.
00:57:53He is a very logical Patriots target if they're, if they want to running back.
00:57:58All right.
00:57:59And then, uh, last game we'll go back.
00:58:02That's at eight o'clock Saturday.
00:58:03So we'll go back four o'clock Clemson, Texas.
00:58:08Hopefully Kelvin banks is good to go with that ankle injury reporting right now is he,
00:58:12he plans to play.
00:58:13It seems like it.
00:58:14Cause he sat out of the, uh, sec championship game.
00:58:18So he's had some time here to recover.
00:58:20So obviously one of the top potential left tackles in this draft.
00:58:25He's also someone that there's been talks, maybe moving these best move back inside the
00:58:29guard.
00:58:30So, uh, we'll see with Kelvin banks, um, thoughts on him or who else are we looking at in Clemson
00:58:37at Texas?
00:58:39So Kelvin banks is that thing like, what does he look like against top talent?
00:58:43He, his worst game of the year is against Michael Williams, who's a top 10 pick pass
00:58:46rusher from Georgia.
00:58:48Michael Williams gave him the business.
00:58:50Uh, he's got to put good tape out against quality opponent Clemson.
00:58:55They don't have one dominant edge rusher, but they kind of scheme it up to get to the
00:58:59quarterback.
00:59:00Like I think Clemson is a good test for them.
00:59:02And then if they can get by Clemson, Arizona state, not so much defensively, but then you
00:59:05either get Oregon, Ohio state or Tennessee, you're going to get three really good pass
00:59:09rushes.
00:59:10Uh, one of three really good pass rushes in the semifinal.
00:59:13If Texas gets there.
00:59:14Uh, and then who knows what happens in the championship.
00:59:16He gets his rematch with Michael Williams.
00:59:17It's the best case scenario for him.
00:59:19I don't know his best case scenario for Texas, because I don't think they're beating Georgia,
00:59:22but it's best case scenario for him.
00:59:24Um, but that that's, you know, it's all about marquee match-ups for him elsewhere with Texas.
00:59:31Uh, you know, you're looking at Isaiah bond who already talked about who's their receiver.
00:59:35Gunner helm has shot right up draft boards.
00:59:38He's he's Texas tight end.
00:59:40He might even be entering the, the range where he's a little rich for them to take a tight
00:59:43end, but I like him, um, really good.
00:59:47Player at that position, a good blocker, which matters Jake majors is their center centers
00:59:53at a sneaky need.
00:59:54I had, um, Georgia center, whose name is escaping me right now.
00:59:59Uh, cause I've just been doing names, names, names all day.
01:00:01Jared Wilson as my player to watch for Georgia, even with all their other talent.
01:00:05Um, and, uh, Andrew, uh, uh, uh, Cuba, their center, their safety, sorry, is a good player
01:00:14to know.
01:00:15He flies around a couple of guys there.
01:00:18He flies around.
01:00:19He's, he, he's a guy that would be a good fit.
01:00:21Maybe you can give them some help over the top, uh, Clemson.
01:00:24I'm actually, so I have one guy for Clemson that I've really kind of circled as a guy
01:00:29I like for them.
01:00:30You know, there's, it's Clemson, they have a couple NFL caliber players.
01:00:34Blake Miller.
01:00:35Their tackle is kind of, you want to double up, uh, Jake printing stools, the tight end.
01:00:38I know some people like Phil Moffett, their running back is good.
01:00:41He could certainly be in play for the Patriots, but I look at Barrett Carter, their off ball
01:00:47linebacker name, something you're going to ask a linebacker to do in an NFL defense name
01:00:53and assignment.
01:00:54A linebacker might do at the NFL level and Barrett Carter's done it for Clemson.
01:00:59He rushes the passer.
01:01:00He flies downhill against the run.
01:01:02He sets the edge.
01:01:03He covers.
01:01:05I don't know how much of a downhill player he is at the NFL.
01:01:07He's not one of these small linebacks.
01:01:09He's not like Martin.
01:01:11He's a little undersized for their defense.
01:01:13He's six, one, two 30, but that's certainly capable.
01:01:16He moves really well at that size.
01:01:19So he's the perfect compliment to me, to Juwan Bentley, where Juwan Bentley is going to come
01:01:23downhill and be that guy.
01:01:25You're not going to have Carter meet a guard in a hole, but can you come out to the edge
01:01:29and use his athleticism to stretch a runner out on the edge on an outside run?
01:01:33He can do that.
01:01:34He can cover again.
01:01:35He has that athleticism where he's not the cleanest pass rusher, but he's going to be
01:01:39able to, if he's your kind of setup guy and you have Keon white or whoever, Christian
01:01:44Barmore cleaning it up on the back end, he can be a presence as a secondary rusher.
01:01:48So he can do a lot of different things.
01:01:51He's not quite the same player as Mack Wilson.
01:01:53He's a little bit bigger, more physical, not he's just as explosive.
01:01:57Maybe he doesn't have the outright foot speed, but for what they need at linebacker, the
01:02:01way they've been exposed at linebacker this year, to me, Barrett Carter is a projected
01:02:06second round pick, by the way, is like the guy that answers a lot of those questions
01:02:12that were left open, especially the ones that, you know, some of it, we just know, all right,
01:02:16John Bentley is going to come back, fix this, but he's not going to fix all of it.
01:02:19They missed Mack Wilson this year.
01:02:21Barrett Carter to me would be a way to maybe address some of those other shortcomings at
01:02:26that position.
01:02:27Yeah.
01:02:28He, he fits that mold that would probably play nicely next to John Bentley.
01:02:31So he's an interesting one, uh, to watch one guy you didn't mention on Texas.
01:02:36Are we going to talk at all about Cameron Williams, their right tackle, or are you seeing
01:02:41right tackle and you're saying we're out?
01:02:43I mean, you know how I feel about that now, look, if, if, uh, uh, Cain walls comes in
01:02:50and isn't good, maybe, but Cameron Williams is going to be a first round pick.
01:02:54And if they're going to use their first round pick on a tackle, it should be a left tackle.
01:02:57I just wouldn't use a first round pick on a right tackle.
01:03:00You can get that in free agency.
01:03:01So, um, I mean, yeah, he's a name to know, I guess that's maybe a little short sighted
01:03:05to me.
01:03:06He's a name to know, but if they're going to take a tackle in the first round, it should
01:03:09be a left tackle.
01:03:10It should be Calvin banks or real Campbell really.
01:03:12But like you got what I'm saying?
01:03:15Yeah.
01:03:16Banks is the one to watch, uh, in that matchup.
01:03:17So, um, those are the four games.
01:03:22Anything else from those that you're looking forward to?
01:03:24I mean, we're looking forward to all of them, but, uh, any other notes or takes you want
01:03:30to get off before, before they unfold?
01:03:32Uh, just real quick here.
01:03:34Give me Indiana, Penn state, Texas, Indiana, or sorry, give me Notre Dame, sorry, Notre
01:03:40Dame, Penn state, Texas, Ohio state.
01:03:43I'm taking all the home teams in the first round.
01:03:46Give me Georgia over Notre Dame, Boise over Penn state, Texas over Arizona, Ohio states
01:03:55This is probably the national championship game if it happens, but give me Ohio state
01:03:59over Oregon, uh, Ohio state, Texas.
01:04:02I'll take, I have to pick Ohio state.
01:04:04I said, they're going to win.
01:04:05So I'm kind of handcuffed into that Ohio state over Texas, Georgia over Penn state, Georgia
01:04:12and Ohio state and the championship.
01:04:14And like I said, Ohio state is most talented roster in this thing.
01:04:17I'm going with the talent trust in Ryan day.
01:04:19I'm not, it is in spite of Ryan day.
01:04:22It is.
01:04:23And he's going to get circles coached around him when he gets to Dan Lanning.
01:04:30I just, I think that defense, they gave, um, they gave Dylan Gabriel enough trouble in
01:04:37Autzen earlier this year.
01:04:39It's really hard to beat a team twice in one season.
01:04:42I know Georgia just did it to Texas, but it's really hard to beat a team twice in one season
01:04:47on a neutral field.
01:04:49I think the talent overcomes the coat, the talent gap overcomes the coaching gap.
01:04:53Ohio state beats Oregon.
01:04:55I say this, like, I know Oregon's going to win the whole thing, but I'm sticking with
01:04:59my preseason pick of Ohio state.
01:05:01You see how I cover my take there.
01:05:02I cover my basis there.
01:05:04I like it.
01:05:05I like it.
01:05:06Excuse me.
01:05:07My official pick.
01:05:08You can tell me I'm wrong for picking Ohio state, but like I'm knocking my own take for
01:05:11picking Ohio state.
01:05:12You're like, this is stupid to do, but I'm going to do it just because I get to say I
01:05:20was right.
01:05:21Starting in August.
01:05:22I respect it.
01:05:23Like if, if your team, if you pick someone in August and your team is still at it, you,
01:05:27you got to ride with them.
01:05:28You got, you got to stick with them and go with them until the end.
01:05:31If I was Ohio state, I would have fired Ryan day and had Belichick coach this thing on
01:05:35two weeks notice.
01:05:36The second I found out he wanted to do college football, but it's unfortunately going to
01:05:40be Ryan day.
01:05:41I hope, I don't know if we can get this in a 12 team bracket, but it would be so cool
01:05:47if there's some sort of like March madness esque run, you know, maybe it's like, like
01:05:54a Boise state or an Arizona state.
01:05:56If they just win two games or like, that would be really cool if one of these teams could
01:05:59kind of go on a run because I don't think, sorry, what were you going to say?
01:06:06I don't know.
01:06:07Like if you can look at one of the teams in the first round and be like, Oh, like if Ohio
01:06:10state goes on a run, like they're Ohio state, they have all the talent.
01:06:16I think when you talk about like that Cinderella team going on like an unexpected run in this
01:06:21format, that starts with the conference championships.
01:06:25Like if you factor in, just think about it, Arizona state was not guaranteed a spot in
01:06:30this thing.
01:06:31So they're already in a run, right?
01:06:33So like you talk about, if you want to talk about a team having that kind of run and you're
01:06:38going to do it, I mean, for it to happen, you go back retroactively.
01:06:41That story doesn't start, especially with them having a buy, like it's weird.
01:06:45It starts with, well, they beat Iowa state in what was an upset to punch their ticket.
01:06:53Like that's where the run is.
01:06:54I would say, you know, Boise, maybe a little bit less SMU, even though they lost like,
01:06:59all right, they're able to play Clemson close enough.
01:07:01They have this comeback.
01:07:03They make it close enough that they get, I know they're the 11 seed, but they get what
01:07:07is essentially the final spot, right?
01:07:10You go up to Penn state, you beat like that.
01:07:12To me, if you're telling the story of like an underdog Cinderella in this bracket, in
01:07:17this format, you're factoring in the conference championship.
01:07:20That's fair.
01:07:21That's a good way to put it.
01:07:22So maybe those teams are in there in their Cinderella runs, which would be fun, but I'll
01:07:26go.
01:07:27I'm going to go kind of chalk.
01:07:30It's boring, but the path I think for Oregon and Georgia is just, it's, it's there.
01:07:36It's easy.
01:07:37And then I'll go, uh, you think it's well, Oregon arguably has the toughest matchup in
01:07:41the second round.
01:07:42They do have it.
01:07:43They have a tougher path, but I I'm a Dan Lanning guy.
01:07:46I'm not a Dylan Gabriel guy, but I'm a Dan Lanning guy.
01:07:48So, um, I'm not, I'm not an Ohio state guy, but I think there'll be Tennessee.
01:07:55So that's probably why.
01:07:56And then I, I'm not a believer.
01:07:59I am very much out on Quinn yours in Texas.
01:08:02I do not like Quinn yours.
01:08:04So I could even see them.
01:08:05Maybe that's where Arizona state gets a win.
01:08:07So I'll go Oregon from that side and then Georgia, even though I don't like Carson Beck,
01:08:13if Carson Beck is even playing, uh, I think their defense, I mean, they, they should be
01:08:17able to beat Notre Dame or Indiana.
01:08:20And then, um, you know, you're talking about Boise state or probably Penn state.
01:08:23So I think Georgia can get by then I'll, I'll go Oregon to win it all.
01:08:27I'll go kind of chalk there, take the one seed, but don't like doing it, but I'm going
01:08:32to do it.
01:08:33I'm going to take Oregon over Georgia there.
01:08:34So those are our predictions players to do one more thing on that.
01:08:40Uh, you talk about the path.
01:08:42A lot of people have said, get rid of conference champion, first round bodies.
01:08:46Just give it to the first four teams.
01:08:48I think winning your conference still needs to mean something.
01:08:50I think the way you fix it, they should recede just after the first round, not after the
01:08:54second round.
01:08:55That'd be fair.
01:08:56Like Oregon should get the looks like if Clemson wins, we're going to get Clemson, right?
01:09:01The lowest remaining seat or SMU, whatever.
01:09:04That's how you fix it.
01:09:05It's not changing the way the buys works.
01:09:06They should reseed after the first round.
01:09:09And then to me, you lock it in from there.
01:09:12And then, uh, you know, from the, the quarterfinals on in, it's locked, essentially make that
01:09:17first round on campus.
01:09:18It's supposed to feel like a play in game.
01:09:20And that's essentially what it becomes.
01:09:21If you recede it even more similar, he is.
01:09:24Yeah.
01:09:25Cause I get the argument for the buys, right?
01:09:28Cause especially how it's set up this year with like Arizona state and Boise state, but
01:09:33it should still mean something to win your conference, but yeah, maybe you, you receded
01:09:37a little, so you don't have the number one seat, Oregon, maybe playing the most talented
01:09:41team in the country, Ohio state round two like that, and maybe make that a little bit
01:09:45more fair.
01:09:46So that would, that would be a good, uh, maybe change they can do going forward.
