00:00Happy Thursday to all of us, I am Benison Estareja.
00:04The effect of the North-East Monsun or Amihan continues in a large part of Luzon and Shirline in the northern part of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
00:13This Shirline is the line where the cold Amihan and hot wind comes from the north, depending on the rainfall there.
00:20Meanwhile, here in Visayas and Mindanao, we continue to monitor the low-pressure area in the north of the Carraga region.
00:28As of 3 in the morning, it is at 245 kilometers east of Surigao del Norte.
00:33Because the circulation is getting better and it is still remaining in the hot Carraga region,
00:38the chance of this low-pressure area becoming a mild storm or tropical depression within the next 24 hours
00:46and it will become a typhoon again if ever.
00:49And the moment it becomes a typhoon, the chance of tropical cyclone wind signals
00:55or wind signals in a large part of the eastern Visayas and Carraga region.
01:00But the strong rain will continue in a large part of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in the next few days.
01:09Because of the Shirline, the rainy season is still expected in the Bicol region and in the part of Quezon.
01:15There are scattered rains that are sometimes strong and thunderstorms,
01:18so be careful of the possible floods.
01:21And because the land is saturated or wet, the chances of landslides are high.
01:27Meanwhile, the cold weather is still continuing in a large part of Luzon.
01:31That is the effect of Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.
01:33The weather is still expected in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, as well as in Aurora.
01:39A few parts of Quezon, as well as in Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro and Romblon.
01:44And be careful of the possible flash floods or landslides.
01:47Meanwhile, here in a part of Luzon, the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Metro Manila and the rest of Calabarzon.
01:55A part of the clouds, the sky is still cloudy.
01:57It is still accompanied by heavy rains or thunderstorms.
02:03A large part of Luzon will experience a fresh weather.
02:06No more than 30 degrees Celsius.
02:08The daily temperature is from 23 to 28 degrees Celsius.
02:12In Baguio, it is 16 to 23 degrees Celsius.
02:15While in Metro Manila, it is 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
02:17And it is even colder in a few parts of Southern Luzon.
02:22Here in Palawan, it is partly cloudy and partly sunny.
02:25There is a light rain.
02:27In a large part of Visayas, the cloudy weather is still expected.
02:30There will be thunderstorms if the house will be exposed.
02:33Especially in the eastern portion of Visayas, we have heavy to intense rains for today.
02:37This is because of the effect of the low pressure area.
02:40It is the closest to the eastern part of Samar.
02:43While we have up to 100 mm or moderate to heavy rains here in Capiz, Aklan, Cebu and Bohol for today.
02:51It is the same in the northern portion of Negros Occidental.
02:54That is why it will be possible for floods and landslides to occur.
03:01In a large part of Visayas, the temperature is no more than 30 degrees Celsius.
03:05It is also a bit cold.
03:06While in Palawan, it is between 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:11And to our fellowmen in Mindanao, bring an umbrella if the house will be exposed.
03:15Expect strong rains, especially in Dinagat Islands.
03:19And in Rigao del Norte, up to 200 mm or heavy to intense rains.
03:24Because it is also the closest to the low pressure area.
03:26The potential is for it to be a weak storm.
03:29The remaining part of Caraga region, as well as Davao Oriental, Misamis Oriental and Camiguinas
03:35has around 50 to 100 mm of forecast rainfall for today.
03:39So this is moderate to heavy rains.
03:40While there are scattered rains and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon in the remaining part of Mindanao.
03:46It is a bit hot in Zamboanga City for today, up to 33 degrees.
03:50While in Davao, it is between 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:55Because of the strong winds of the northeast monsoon, we still have a gale warning of up to 5 meters.
04:01Here in the extreme northern Luzon, as well as Batanes, Northern Coast of Cagayan, Baboyan Islands and Ilocos Norte.
04:10For the rest of the day, it is still possible for a gale to hit the northern Luzon.
04:15There is a chance for small ships to sail.
04:18Especially our fellowmen who are fishing there.
04:21And until early next week, please take note that there will be a gale in the western Philippine Sea.
04:27And here in the eastern Luzon and Visayas.
04:30So it is possible for us to have a gale warning there.
04:33And please take note, especially for those who will cross their provinces and islands.
04:39It is possible that there will be sea travel suspensions.
04:43And for our T-Day weather forecast,
04:45by tomorrow, Friday, December 20, we still have strong winds of rain and thunderstorms in Quezon, Bicol Region and portions of Visayas and Mindanao.
04:56Because it is expected that this low-pressure area will become a tropical depression.
05:01And it is also possible for a gale to pass through Visayas and Mindanao up to Maisolusi by tomorrow.
05:08We expect up to 200 mm of rain.
05:11Or in heavy to intense rains here in Baybayin or part of Albay, Sosogon, Catanduanes.
05:18A large portion of eastern Visayas.
05:21As well as Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte.
05:24Most likely, there will be heavy rains in low-lying areas.
05:28And even in mountainous areas.
05:30While there is a chance that there will be heavy rains and landslides here in Kulay Dilaw.
05:35These are moderate to heavy rains.
05:37It will be around 50 to 100 mm by tomorrow.
05:40Because of the effect of shear line here in Quezon, Camarines Provinces, Marinduque, Romblon and Masbate.
05:47While there is a trough of low-pressure area or potential disturbance in Aklan, Capiz, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Samis Provinces, Camiguin and the remaining part of Carraga Region.
06:03We expect that in the remaining part of Mimaropa, there will be heavy rains and thunderstorms by tomorrow.
06:08Because of the effect of shear line or heat and cold wind.
06:12While there will still be cold weather here in Northern, Central Luzon and Metro Manila.
06:18Which will be accompanied by light to moderate rains.
06:21It will still be affected by the shear line.
06:23And for the last weekend, before Christmas.
06:26We still expect heavy rains in a large part of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
06:30Because this is the time where the weather in Visayas and Mindanao Area is said to be bad.
06:36For the time being, Palawan and West Philippine Sea might be affected by the so-called weather disturbance.
06:42That's why it will still rain in some parts of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
06:46Palawan, Oriental Mindoro, Quezon and Camarines Provinces will be the most affected.
06:51While the remaining part of Luzon is affected, please take note.
06:54Let's bring jackets because the cold weather will continue.
06:57Especially here in the eastern section of Luzon.
07:00Because of the effect of the cold wind.
07:04Our sunrise is 6.15 in the morning.
07:06And the sunset is 5.31 in the afternoon.
07:09For now, this is the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
07:12I'm Benison Estareja.
