00:00Happy weekend to all of us. I am Benison Estareja.
00:05The effects of three weather systems in our country are still continuing.
00:09First is the North-East Monsoon or Windy Weather that affects the Northern and Central Zone.
00:15Second is the hot Easter Leaves or the wind from the Pacific Ocean that brings hot weather and heavy rains to Visayas and Mindanao.
00:24Third is the Sheer Line or Line that brings cold and hot Easter Leaves and heavy rains to some parts of Southern Luzon in the next few days.
00:36Meanwhile, based on our latest satellite animation, we haven't seen any typhoons around the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:43Although we are monitoring cloud clusters or clusters of clouds,
00:46it is still very hot here outside of our parts of East Mindanao.
00:50It is associated with the Intertropical Convergence Zone or the winds from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
00:57Today, there is a high chance of rain here in Micaguayan Valley, Aurora, and in the Cordillera Region,
01:04Calinga, Apayao, Mountain Province, and Ipugao.
01:07This is the effect of the North-East Monsoon or Windy Weather.
01:10It is weak to moderate rainfall and sometimes strong when it is close to mountains.
01:15Be careful of floods and landslides there.
01:17Meanwhile, here in the Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, and here in Central Luzon,
01:23there are still partly cloudy skies and there is a chance of dryness and short-term thunderstorms.
01:28Here in the Bicol Region and the Quezon Province,
01:32there are still partly cloudy skies and there is a chance of dryness and short-term thunderstorms.
01:38This is the effect of the Sheer Line or the cold and hot winds.
01:42Be careful of floods and landslides.
01:45Meanwhile, in Metro Manila, Calabarzon and almost all of Mimaropa are partly cloudy skies.
01:52There are also areas in Laguna, Marinduque, and here in Romblo
01:55where there will be frequent rains and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
02:03For Metro Manila, the temperature is from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:08It is cold here in Northern and Central Luzon as well as Baguio City from 16 to 25 degrees Celsius.
02:15For our fellowmen in the southern part of Palawan
02:19and here in the areas of Panay Island, Aklan, Capiz, and Northern Samar,
02:25there are partly cloudy skies here in the southern part of Palawan.
02:28This is the effect of the East Release.
02:30In the northern portion of Visayas, there is also a part of the effect of the Sheer Line.
02:33The remaining areas of Visayas and Palawan are partly cloudy and sometimes sunny.
02:38However, there will still be frequent rains and isolated thunderstorms,
02:42especially in the afternoon and evening.
02:45The temperature in a large part of Palawan and Visayas is from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
02:51in the afternoon.
02:53For our fellowmen in Mindanao,
02:56there are chances of rain showers here in Surigao, Davao Region, Basilan, and Zamboanga City.
03:04These are isolated showers.
03:06The remaining areas of Mindanao are partly cloudy and sometimes sunny.
03:12However, there will still be frequent rains and isolated thunderstorms
03:17that usually last for one or two hours.
03:19In a large part of Zamboanga City and Davao City,
03:23the temperature is expected to be from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:27Currently, due to the strong north-east monsoon,
03:31we have gale warnings in a part of Northern Luzon,
03:35up to 4.5 meters above sea level,
03:38in the villages of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte.
03:42These waves are dangerous to small sea vessels, especially to fishermen.
03:47In the coming days, we still expect strong waves in the villages of Northern Luzon.
03:53Gale warnings may be added to areas with gale warnings and high waves.
03:58The rest of Luzon may also have waves up to 3 meters.
04:02Meanwhile, in Visayas and Mindanao,
04:04within the next two days,
04:06it is possible to have waves up to 2 meters above sea level.
04:10For our 3-day weather forecast,
04:12the different weather systems are still there,
04:15just like the north-east monsoon in Northern and Central Luzon.
04:19It will still bring cold temperatures,
04:22light to moderate rains in Cagayan Valley,
04:25Aurora, and nearby areas in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
04:29The shear line will still bring rain.
04:31And please take note,
04:33sometimes the rain will be strong in the shear line,
04:35in areas of Quezon, Bicol Region, and nearby areas,
04:37such as Rizal, Laguna, Romlon, and Marinduque.
04:42So please be careful in the event of floods and landslides.
04:45Rainfall advisories and heavy rainfall warnings may still be added.
04:50By Monday and Tuesday of December 16 and 17,
04:55there is a possibility of a low-pressure area.
04:58Here in the southeast coast of Mindanao,
05:01based on the Climatology Division's forecast,
05:04this low-pressure area has a low chance of a storm.
05:07It will bring rain.
05:09The trough of this low-pressure area in Caraga, Davao Region, and Eastern Visayas
05:14will also be affected,
05:16and nearby areas in Mindanao will also be affected.
05:18So please be careful in the event of floods and landslides.
05:20And always stay tuned for updates of the forecast
05:23because the low-pressure area in this part of Mindanao
05:27will have a slight chance of a storm.
05:29But it is not expected that there will be a storm.
05:32Meanwhile, the effects of the storm will continue in Northern and Central Luzon.
05:35It will still bring cold weather and mild to moderate rains there.
05:41Meanwhile, here in Southern Luzon,
05:43the effects of the shoreline will continue
05:45and the floods in Bicol Region, Quezon,
05:49and nearby areas in Samar Provinces and Mimaropa may be stronger.
05:53So please incorporate these strong floods in a large part of the country.
05:59Especially since we have outdoor activities,
06:01year-end gatherings, and Christmas parties early next week.
06:05So make sure that we have an umbrella
06:08and always coordinate with Pag-asa for possible suspension
06:12and for the floods and landslides that will occur in the next few days.
06:16Our sunrise is at 6.13 a.m.
06:19and the sunset is at 5.29 p.m.
06:22That's all for the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pag-asa.
06:25I'm Benison Estareja,
06:27wishing you a pleasant time.
06:29Pag-asa, Magandang Solusyon!
06:35Pag-asa, Magandang Solusyon!
