Police have identified the motive behind the murder of a 26-year-old woman, whose body was found decomposed in Tabuan Jaya, Kuching last Sunday.

The suspect confessed to killing the victim and pawning her jewellery as he needed money to watch the football match between Harimau Malaya and Cambodia in Phnom Penh on Dec 8.

00:19Haryan Metro reported that the suspect confessed to killing the victim and pawning her jewellery
00:24as he needed money to watch the football match between Harimau Malaya and Cambodia held in
00:29Phnom Penh on December 8.
00:32This was confirmed by Sarawak Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Manca Ata on Wednesday.
00:49He added that police have also recovered new pieces of evidence including the victim's
00:54clothes, teeth and hair from the drain where her body was recovered.
00:59He also said police are still awaiting the results of the DNA test to confirm the identity
01:05of the decomposed body.
01:07The suspect is currently under remand until December 22.
