00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave the importance of the partnership between the Philippines and the United States
00:07for the continued development of the semiconductor industry.
00:11In a courtesy call of the U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association CEO John Neuffer in Malacanang,
00:17President Marcos said that there are many in the country who are in the manufacturing of semiconductors
00:23and they just need to be developed.
00:26In Neuffer's words, he said that the U.S. government has initiatives to ensure the continued supply of semiconductors,
00:35particularly in the technology industry in America.
00:38The U.S. is already Googling 500 million U.S. dollars in five years
00:44to help friends and associates like the Philippines to develop talent.
00:50Semiconductors are important in almost all modern technologies,
00:54including computers, smartphones, medical devices, automotive systems, and others.
01:01They serve as the backbone of technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G, and cloud computing.
