00:00Senate President Francis Escudero defended the zero subsidy to PhilHealth because it still has a lot of money.
00:06According to Escudero, it also has no effect on PhilHealth's service because they still have 600 billion pesos that was not used as a fund.
00:15Meanwhile, the Department of Health promised that PhilHealth's service will continue even if they cannot get a subsidy from the national budget for 2025.
00:24According to PhilHealth, all inpatient, outpatient, and special packages will still be used,
00:30including the benefits for hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, dengue, PhilHealth consulta, and heart attacks.
00:39Benefits for rare diseases and dental health have also been approved.
00:45The Department of Health promises, as a sponsor of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth,
00:52that the benefits of the National Health Insurance Agency will continue,
00:58even if there is or is no subsidy from the upcoming General Appropriations Act.
01:04All inpatient, outpatient, and special benefit packages of PhilHealth will continue to be used.
01:13The DOH has confidence that PhilHealth has cash on hand to continue and improve the distribution of benefits for the next 2 to 3 years.
01:23The total spending of PhilHealth's benefits in 2023 was P74 billion.
01:31From January 1 to September 30, 2024, which is only 3 months left until the end of the year,
01:39the total spending of PhilHealth's benefits was estimated at P135 billion.
01:45At the end of 2023, the total net income was estimated at P463.7 billion.
01:54Following the Universal Health Care Act, PhilHealth was able to receive a reserve fund of P280.6 billion
02:02for the 2-year value of its benefits and other expenses.
02:06The Surplus Fund Balance of the Social Health Insurance Agency was not lower than P183.1 billion in early 2024.
