00:00Senator President Francis Escudero defended the zero subsidy to PhilHealth because it has a lot of funds.
00:08According to Escudero, it has no effect on PhilHealth's services because they have 600 billion pesos of unused funds.
00:18Meanwhile, the health department is continuously rejecting PhilHealth's services even though they can't get a subsidy from the proposed national budget for 2025.
00:29According to the DOH, all inpatient, outpatient, and special packages of PhilHealth will still be available.
00:37This includes the benefits for hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, dengue, PhilHealth consulta, and heart attacks.
00:48Benefits for rare diseases and dental health will also be approved.
00:54The Department of Health is demanding that the Philippines Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth continue to provide benefits for the health of the National Health Insurance Agency
01:07even though it has or does not have a subsidy from the upcoming General Appropriations Act.
01:13All inpatient, outpatient, and special benefit packages of PhilHealth will continue to be available.
01:22The DOH has confidence that PhilHealth has cash on hand to continue and improve the distribution of benefits for the next two to three years.
01:32PhilHealth's total spending in 2023 was P74 billion.
01:39From January 1 to September 30, 2024, which is only three months left until the end of the year, the total spending was estimated at P135 billion.
01:53At the end of 2023, the total net income was estimated at P463.7 billion.
02:03Following the Universal Health Care Act, PhilHealth was able to receive a reserve fund of P280.6 billion for the two-year value of its benefits and other expenses.
02:15As part of the Social Health Insurance Agency, its surplus fund balance did not fall below P183.1 billion in early 2024.
