00:00Over the past few days, many of us have been stuck in this anti-cyclonic gloom, with thick
00:05cloud cover, limited bright spells and cold temperatures. But as we look ahead towards
00:11the weekend, it looks set to turn brighter and our temperatures will recover slightly.
00:17For the rest of Thursday though, it will be dull and grey with thick cloud cover and this
00:21cloud will be thick enough to bring outbreaks of patchy light rain and drizzle. Then similar
00:25conditions are forecast on Friday, but winds will strengthen and rain will push into the
00:30far north-west on Friday afternoon. This rain will then track southwards on Friday night
00:36and Saturday morning, turning increasingly light and patchy as it does so. And once that
00:41cloud and rain has cleared on Saturday, it will be a drier and brighter day for all,
00:45with long sunny spells and variable amounts of cloud. A scattering of showers will develop
00:50though, mostly for coastal regions and across northern Scotland, and here some of these
00:54could be wintry over the hills. As we move into Sunday, there will be more cloud around,
01:00but our temperatures will recover slightly.
