00:14An Edinburgh man has appeared in court on petition accused of the attempted murder of a police officer.
00:19Lewis Mackey faced charges of assault to injury and danger to life and attempted murder when he appeared in the dock during a private hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
00:28Mackey, 21, also faced an allegation of theft and road traffic offences including failing to stop, driving while disqualified and driving with no insurance.
00:38He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
00:42Edinburgh Primary School Extension approved to provide space for 196 more pupils.
00:47Plans for an Edinburgh Primary School to be extended have been approved, just three years after the new school opened.
00:54Frogston Primary School in Birdie House will be able to add a third stream of pupils after its plans for an extension to accommodate an extra 196 pupils were approved on December 5th.
01:05The original Frogston Primary School, opened in June 2021, is located on the site of a new residential development in south-east Edinburgh.
01:14The two-storey extension will add six classrooms, flexible teaching areas, eight extra student toilets and one extra staff toilet,
01:22provide additional storage facilities, established tutorial and office spaces and add an additional 26 cycle parking spaces.

01:58In first place for the UK is the London School of Economics and Political Science, but five Scottish universities earned spots in the top 20.
