00:00 Hello and welcome to enbranews.com. I'm Neil, a reporter at the Enbrit Evening News and these
00:05 are some of the top stories you can find on our website today. Former SNP leadership candidate
00:12 and Enbrit Eastern MSP Ash Regan has quit the party to join Alex Salmond's ALBA party, becoming
00:18 its first ever MSP. She said the SNP had lost its focus on independence and she could not,
00:25 in good conscience, continue to be part of the party that, in her words, had drifted away from
00:31 the very foundation of its existence. She added, "I'm proud to take up a mantle of leadership for
00:37 ALBA at Holyrood." An East Lothian shopkeeper has said some of his staff have had to quit their jobs
00:44 after being intimidated with death threats for refusing to sell alcohol to people under the age
00:49 of 18. Shiva Kumar said his convenience store in Haddington had been damaged with several staff
00:55 being abused at a local bus stop and said he regularly has to call police to deal with
01:00 anti-social behaviour. Mr Kumar said that shop windows are being broken and he's having to
01:05 provide accommodation locally for his staff to avoid them being subjected to abusive behaviour
01:11 at the nearby bus stop. And finally, police have introduced 12 dispersal zones in Edinburgh ahead
01:18 of this year's bonfire night with hopes to avoid a repeat of last year's scenes. Last year, gangs
01:25 of use hurled bricks and petrol bombs in several communities, with two police officers being
01:31 treated for head injuries and 14 people charged with various offences, including breach of the
01:36 peace, assault, theft and firework-related offences. The dispersal zones will allow police to order
01:43 groups of two or more people to disperse if they have reasonable grounds to believe that their
01:48 presence or behaviour is causing or likely to cause alarm or distress to any members of the public.
01:54 The police can also order people who do not live in the area to leave and can ban them for returning
02:00 for up to 24 hours. The dispersal zones will be in effect from Friday, November the 3rd until
02:06 Sunday, November the 5th. For more information on these zones, you can visit the Edinburgh Evening
02:12 News website. For all latest news from Edinburgh and the Lothians, you can check out our website
