00:00It is caught! Touchdown!
00:04The New England Patriots select Drake May.
00:08He's got the ball! And that's the ball game!
00:12Here we go, all 32 pod. Once again, Mike Ciardi, Will Parkinson alongside.
00:17We are taping this on Thursday, late afternoon, prior to the Thursday night football game.
00:23So much going on, Will. A reminder to everyone, show brought to you by PrizePix,
00:27the exclusive Daily Fantasy partner of the CLNS Media Network.
00:30And game time, best tickets, best prices to get you in anywhere, anytime, any event.
00:36We've got a lot to get to. Let's get right to it.
00:38We ended the show, or certainly discussed on our last show,
00:42the potential suspension for Aziz al-Shair pretty much after we did that.
00:48Word comes out it's a three game suspension for that dirty hit on Trevor Lawrence.
00:52However, it has sparked quite the reaction, and not only internally with the Texans,
00:58which of course you expect that's their guy, right? He's one of their captains.
01:01But also on the national landscape, including one guy by the name of Tom Breden,
01:06who thinks that quarterbacks aren't doing a good enough job protecting themselves.
01:09Where do you stand on the, you were the first one, you kind of like,
01:13hey, this is going to be multiple games. It should be multiple games.
01:15Yeah, I think I said four games, if I'm not mistaken.
01:19I said somewhere between four and six because I felt like we've seen this before in the past.
01:25We've seen Eddie Jackson get four games for I think two weeks of personal fouls.
01:30They weren't even ejectable hits, if I'm not mistaken, a few years back.
01:34So I'm not surprised that he got multiple games.
01:37I'm not surprised that the NFL had to send a message here at some point.
01:41Because as I mentioned, it's not even that I'm suggesting teams do this.
01:46It's a fact of life. We saw Dan Campbell have a full conversation with the refs
01:51pre-Thanksgiving game that Caleb Williams likes to do.
01:53He's watched Mahomes. He likes to do what Mahomes does,
01:55which is, by the way, this is a lot of Mahomes fault,
01:57and Josh Allen and these quarterbacks can do it, that have not gotten penalized.
02:01I mean, you know, the Kenny Pickett famous slide in college.
02:03But at the end of the day, if you don't penalize, I'll show you here.
02:07And they don't send a message that you're going to get a, probably more than,
02:11look, I don't know that he needed to get suspended for three games.
02:14Three games in reality, it's football and I get it.
02:17But again, if you don't send a message, who's to say that tomorrow night
02:21or tonight when we watch this game, that Jordan Love goes and scrambles
02:24and slides in the line and say, you know, we might be down a linebacker,
02:28but let's send a message, our rivals. And if Jordan Love gets hurt, you know,
02:32we don't want him to get hurt, but we're going to send a message.
02:34You start getting a lot of, I know it's, it feels like it's being dramatic,
02:37but you start to get that spiky, not the spiky, you know, the 2009 same stuff.
02:43And it's not saying that it's going to go to that level,
02:45but if you don't nip it in the butt now, it's going to become that.
02:48Yes, there's far worse hits that we've seen in the NFL.
02:51There will be far worse hits. Tom Brady, you know, the,
02:54the Nate Clemens hits one of the most famous clips you still watch on, you know,
02:57you'll, you'll go on Twitter or X or, you know, YouTube, whatever.
03:00And he searched Tom Brady, big hit.
03:01You see the Nate Clemens hitting his helmet flies off and Brady gets up.
03:04Yeah, that's great. And I, and I appreciate Tom's insight.
03:07That was 25 years ago. The NFL was way different 25 years ago.
03:10This is the current NFL Trevor Lawrence is sitting in a fencing posture
03:13unconscious. And I thought the most crazy,
03:17the craziest part of this entire thing, I think was people were mad from the
03:23Texan side of things that like the Jaguars reacted, which to me was insane.
03:29And if CJ Strad got hit like that and the Texans didn't react,
03:31we'd call them soft. We would have been ripping the Jags,
03:34ripping Doug Peterson, ripping everyone in that locker room.
03:37And we didn't because that's what you should do when your quarterback gets hit.
03:40You, you heard you just Saturday on ESPN. I thought he put it perfectly.
03:43Him and Shannon Sharper, like, what would you, what did you want them to do?
03:47And you mentioned it yourself. He got through it.
03:50He got himself tossed out of the game, probably for the better.
03:52And the last thing I'll say on this is we don't have to do this.
03:57John Runyon was a dirty player.
03:59And that was so dumb. Come on.
04:01People like Kyle long, like immediately like, Oh,
04:05And it was like, you've been holding on this forever.
04:07Who cares what he was as a player. They put him in charge of discipline.
04:10There are rules to follow.
04:12It is what it is. And lastly, I just,
04:16I would say like a lot of the Ryan Clarks and the Tom Brady's and these guys were
04:21played the game at the highest level, extremely successful,
04:24really good at their jobs on TV and doing different things.
04:28I don't know. I, I, Ryan kind of made a living off of 30 hits.
04:33So like, I'm not really sure that I, I, I get it. It's like, Oh,
04:37this wouldn't have been dirty in my day. Well, it's not your day anymore.
04:39Unfortunately. And again, the NFL is different.
04:42I'll share his apology was, was BS. I thought it was, you know,
04:46crafted by chat GBT and a notes app.
04:49And then he comes out and he posted like the fourth,
04:52coolest joker meme. And it does the whole, you know,
04:55his cleats and the whole thing. Like let's even,
04:58it's your fifth offense of something that was crossing the line.
05:01We didn't even talk about the Derek Carr,
05:03forearm shivery hit the Derek Carr that no one even talked about. So again,
05:06we're probably talking too much about this.
05:08I just think that it is what it is. He'll come back in three games.
05:12He's going to be watched heavily.
05:13Someone's still going to slide late this weekend or next weekend.
05:16We're probably going to get a repeated thing and it's going to be like,
05:19well, now there's a barometer.
05:20Three games is what you're going to get.
05:22If you repeat offender who takes out a quarterback, it is what it is.
05:25I'm sorry. Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised. You know,
05:29he's appealing that if it gets knocked down to two games,
05:31but three games. Yeah, it is. Oh, he said, no. Yeah. Good. Good.
05:38So there you go. There it is. It's locked down.
05:41I just,
05:42I think a lot of people were tone deaf and I don't let the Brady thing,
05:45he missed the mark on the Daniel Jones thing as well. You know,
05:48he went on in this rant about Daniel Jones. I, you know,
05:50how dare they invested in you. You ask out of that team, dude,
05:54they sat him on the bench permanently or we're going to permanently
05:59because he had an injury clause in his contract.
06:01They didn't want him to get hurt.
06:02So they didn't have to pay him 23 million if he got hurt. So shut up.
06:05They were doing to save their own skin. Like just, I don't know. Like,
06:09well, look, we, you're in the media. You talk for a living.
06:13There are going to be some takes that are wrong.
06:15There are going to be takes that you look back on maybe even the day after
06:18you did an hour after you didn't go, you know what?
06:21Maybe I didn't think that one is through.
06:23Maybe that's not as sound an argument as I'd like to make,
06:25but I just get off the stupid, like in my day thing. And just, I don't know.
06:30Foolish, foolish,
06:32I thought Jason McCordie did the best thing you could possibly do today when
06:35you make a mistake, he made a mistake and said, you know,
06:37the bills would need to host the chiefs in order to try to win. He's like,
06:40I honestly just was like talking on a million different shows and like got
06:44confused for a second. That's on me. My bad. I totally messed that up.
06:48It is, it happens. If Tom was smart, in my opinion,
06:52he would watch a lot of Mark Sanchez and a lot of Greg Olson in this off
06:56season and how they kind of approach the game as guys that are not the super
06:59superstar names, but they bring this insight where they don't, him and Romo,
07:03I think would do better to, in my opinion,
07:06to trend a little bit more towards where Mark and Greg are in terms of this,
07:09like kind of that balance of analytics and trying to think what the coach
07:13you're doing and talk to the football fan is if they're pretty smart,
07:17but not a genius because talking to people like you don't know what they're
07:21talking about. I think people have caught on.
07:23Anyone has access to all 22 now and he's different stats.
07:26You got to kind of show folks, you know,
07:29in a quick timeframe what these things mean and how they impact the game.
07:33Yeah, there has to be, and there has to be personality.
07:36He's just very stiff at this point. So that's just,
07:38that's a whole nother conversation for another day. Let's get to,
07:41I guess it's the game of the week. There's a couple of them. Not,
07:44not an awesome slate this week. Chargers at eight and four,
07:49visit the 11 one Kansas city chiefs on Sunday night football.
07:54I'm fascinated for a lot of reasons. The second meeting of these two teams,
07:57Casey won the first one, 17 to 10 charges actually led 10,
08:00nothing late in the second quarter, Kansas city,
08:03as they've done all year have found a way to win that game.
08:06The chargers have now won five of six.
08:08There was the one slip up against the Ravens, but it was a competitive game.
08:13They still bring the number one scoring defense in the league,
08:15averaging less than 16 points per game against the chiefs team.
08:18Again, we're still talking about this here in the first week of December,
08:22their offense. I don't even want to say that it's not, hasn't hit its stride.
08:27I think this is what their offense is. And maybe there'll be some variance.
08:30Maybe they'll just, you know,
08:31Pat has one of those days where he's just completely on fire or Kelsey,
08:34you know, has the cayenne pepper water and just goes bananas himself.
08:38But like by and large, this is who they are.
08:40And I think the way the chargers are playing,
08:43they have a chance in this ball game to, to to knock off Casey.
08:48Doesn't this just feel like the chargers are going to be in a lot of ways with
08:51the Rams are where they're at home, you know, it's nice to play inside.
08:56It's nice to kind of play in that familiar setting. And yeah,
08:58that's not that they, I don't want to do the whole,
09:00they don't have fans thing. I think that's,
09:02I think that's extremely insult.
09:04Like they don't have the same fan base following at this moment in their home
09:07stadium that some of these other things have large fan bases.
09:10They're just, it's a different, they've moved locations.
09:12This is what happens.
09:14But I feel like they've kind of embraced that horrible,
09:17like we will play you anywhere. It's going to be a rock fight.
09:22I feel like they're going to learn a little bit from how they played against
09:24Baltimore. They got banged up pretty bad in that game.
09:26It felt like, and the Ravens had a nice night on them.
09:29They just did it kind of the talent, the talent took over. Right.
09:32That's something that we've talked about with the chargers all year.
09:34It's like there's talent there. I think we both thought, I mean,
09:36I think I thought had them as like a nine or 10 win team that was going to
09:39sneak in as a seven seat, if I'm not mistaken.
09:41Like I thought they'd be very competitive and much better. I don't,
09:43I don't think I thought they were going to be like potentially an 11, 12,
09:4613 win team. But yeah,
09:49I want to see if some team can take advantage of Kansas city.
09:51At this point, we've seen Buffalo, they know Buffalo did it,
09:53but that was a matchup where even if Kansas city played well,
09:56Buffalo could have beat them. Right. That's how well they're playing.
09:59As you mentioned, chargers five out of six can Herbert.
10:04I'd like to see Herbert have like a multi touchdown game here.
10:06I feel like he's done such a good job.
10:08I believe he still has the one interception.
10:09He's run the ball a lot better this year, super effective.
10:12And like, there's no, it's just not sliding him at all.
10:15I think he is a top five quarterback in the league,
10:18but if you wanted to be critical of Herbert, the two things would obviously be,
10:22you know, late season success.
10:25And the weird thing this year is like, look at the other, you know,
10:28the top five guys you'd consider my homes in a down year,
10:31I believe has 19 touchdowns, you know, Burroughs at what? 30 or so.
10:36You know, Alan, Alan's way up there.
10:38Lamar is obviously a guy who if Lamar and the bills were flipped,
10:42kind of like they were last year,
10:43like you'd be talking about Lamar winning a third MVP.
10:46You probably have more MVPs than playoff wins at this point.
10:48So I'd like to see Herbert kind of go from that super athletic,
10:54awesome game manager type. I know that's a triggering word for some folks,
10:59but I actually think that's the way they've wanted to have him play football
11:02this year.
11:03I'd like to see maybe can he take over this game and have two touchdowns
11:06passing 40 yards rushing. And, you know,
11:09they win 23 20 in Kansas city. And it's like, Oh, okay. Wow.
11:15Can Cameron Dicker make a few kicks? Can, and we saw last week, you know,
11:19the tackle spots are rough in Kansas city. That's the one thing.
11:23It's just funny, Mike.
11:24Cause I think a lot of the things we went into the year in our previews. Yeah.
11:27There's some things we definitely got wrong, but with Kansas city,
11:30we were like, the defense is really good. The quarterback's all world.
11:33Obviously the running game's good.
11:35We were a little worried about the weapons in terms of age.
11:38And I still, or I'm not, I don't know. I,
11:41Deandre Hopkins draws a lot of flags, but man,
11:44he doesn't move like he used to move and neither does Kelsey, obviously,
11:48but they still have their moments. They're beatable.
11:51And the tackle spots are bad. You know, if the chart can the chargers,
11:54can you get Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack going one time?
11:56One time this feels like a playoff game. And because if Casey loses,
12:01Buffalo controls their own destiny as the one scene,
12:04that would be obviously a bit pretty, pretty damn big deal going to,
12:07going into what will be week 14 here, whatever it is. This is,
12:10we're getting down to the wire here. Yeah.
12:12It's interesting. You brought up Herbert and I,
12:14I think he is playing really well this year.
12:16I think he's playing better than he has in a couple of years,
12:20but there is, it feels like there's still another level to get to. This is a,
12:24this is an interesting matchup for him because Casey plays a ton of man.
12:30I think they're top five in the league in terms of how they deploy man
12:33defenses under spags. Herbert has not been great against man at all.
12:37This year, 46.1% completion percentage. Now look,
12:41there's a lot that goes into that part being a big part of being the receivers
12:45that can't beat man. You know,
12:46they're really limited at that position and lad McConkie, you know, again,
12:51is recording this on Thursday afternoon,
12:53limited participant on Wednesday dealing with both the knee and the shoulder.
12:56The is sort of appears to be the bigger thing.
12:58He's been playing with the shoulder for some time,
13:00so that'll be crucial because he's been their go-to guy as a rookie already.
13:07But I'm curious to see how they defend him and if he can elevate in that big
13:11spot. And we'll also brought up the football. Well, geez, good Lord.
13:17I mean, first round pick, man, I was just doing a big thing on
13:21for, for Boston sports journal, for my notes column about, you know,
13:24Jalen Polk's having a rough year for the Patriots. And
13:28if guys don't pop early, do they not pop at all? And they,
13:32the evidence is pretty damning for wide receivers. You know, I,
13:36I basically cut it off at around from the 20th pick of the draft in the first
13:40round two through the second round.
13:41Cause I think there's a variance of how people view what they need in the
13:44second round of receiver. But Johnson was a first round guy and has not been
13:49at all what they needed him to be. And if he had been now you're talking,
13:53cause then with McConkie underneath and him on the outside, like that's instead,
13:57it's McConkie and Will Disley have been the two guys. One other thing,
14:01like maybe one weapon away next year, you'd feel like now you feel like you're
14:05two unfortunately, and maybe it's a draft and sign and trade for one.
14:08Yeah, absolutely. I wonder, you know,
14:10considering how they sort of reset their books,
14:12if maybe they're a team that sort of gets into the T Higgins conversation,
14:16cause we know T's going to have a lot of people interested in and make a lot of
14:19money. Last thing in the chargers, no JK Dobbins last week, you know,
14:23he's on IR last week without him.
14:25They really struggled to run the football without them.
14:27They averaged 4.8 yards per carry when he's on the field, 3.2,
14:31when he's off Gus Edwards,
14:34probably the primary ball carrier and the Gus bus has not gotten going just yet.
14:38Casey has been pretty good against the run. Let's go to,
14:41you mentioned the bills and potentially controlling their own destiny.
14:45If Kansas city gets knocked off here, the bills at 10 and two,
14:48it's an easy game for them. They've got to go to LA.
14:50They got to play the Rams six and six Rams.
14:52The Rams still trying to hang on just a game out of the lead in the NFC West,
14:57but would lose some of the head to head tiebreakers.
15:00At least at this point with Seattle is the first place team.
15:03I think it's a terrific test for the bills,
15:06their defense in particular,
15:07because I'm really curious to see how they deal with Nakua and cup and not cup
15:12is a little bit beat up.
15:13When I'm going to cool is always beat up.
15:14They're both always beat up,
15:15but he's shown a little bit of signs of age,
15:18but they love to play zone play zone about as much as anybody.
15:24But against the chiefs earlier this year,
15:26when they looked at the chiefs weapons and said, you know what?
15:28These guys can't run away from us. Let's play man.
15:32And that was a big shock for Kansas city.
15:35And they did a really good job in that game.
15:37And it was, I think part of the story of why they won the game.
15:39I'm curious if they go into this thing and look at particularly cup and say,
15:44I know there's a lot of motion.
15:45There's a lot of bunch formations that can make it challenging and man to man
15:48and picks and all those things.
15:49But like these guys aren't going to run away from our corners.
15:51And maybe they once again,
15:54show a little bit more confidence in the corners to play more man and how the
15:57Rams sort of deal with that. And McVeigh is really smart,
16:00but like Andy Reid's pretty smart too.
16:02And they, they,
16:03they had a hard time figuring it out because just at the end of the day,
16:06I don't have enough juice on the outside to beat you.
16:08And I'm curious that the bills sort of approach this the same way.
16:11Yeah. A couple of different things will be interesting to see.
16:14Just from a defensive perspective for the Rams, you know,
16:17I feel like the Rams have like had easily the hardest schedule in the league.
16:20I have no evidence to tell you that that's the case.
16:22Detroit would probably argue they have, but I swear every week,
16:26the Rams are in like an absolute dog fight.
16:28Like their easiest game was like at new England. Like that's not,
16:32wasn't easy at all. Right. The jets have coming, you know,
16:33that's not an easy place to go West coast, East coast for a one o'clock kickoff.
16:37Off. I believe they played you know, a Monday night game the week before this,
16:41it's like, it's not a, they've just had an insane schedule.
16:44And just,
16:45it's just something I probably should have picked up on before the season.
16:49You know, in terms of how they defend the bills,
16:52it'll be interesting to see because it feels like right now the bills are,
16:56they're the best front running team in the NFL.
16:57And I don't mean that in a, in a bad way per se,
17:00but like very 2017 calves ish.
17:05The calves obviously ended up losing to the Warriors in that, in that finals.
17:08But it felt like if they got up, they started playing well early. It was over.
17:12They, I mean, they just kill you off. There was no way.
17:14It seemed that the 2017 Warriors, frankly, from that perspective,
17:17like once the ball started going in and start making threes,
17:20it's over and the bills are making their threes and Josh Allen is playing the way
17:24he's playing. It's, it's hard to keep pace with them,
17:28no matter their defense. You mentioned how the bills will defend them.
17:31This has to be a big Kyron Williams game. You know, really cool moment,
17:35obviously with Steven Jackson, you know, he had his foundation.
17:37That was awesome. And you know who, I mean,
17:39what are the odds that ends up happening?
17:41He ends up as a Ram in the fifth round and Steven Jackson's giving him his
17:45cleats. And I think that was, that's as cool as it gets.
17:48Yeah. Quickly, just for those who didn't see it, you can check it out online,
17:51but Kyron Williams, one of the,
17:52he is the Rams nominee for the Walter Payton man of the year award many years
17:56ago when he was a kid,
17:58Steven Jackson,
17:59who previously represented the Rams as the Walter Payton man of the year award
18:02nominee. There's a picture of the two of them together.
18:05Kyron wanted his gold cleats, couldn't get his gold cleats.
18:07It went over his head.
18:09I presented him with the gold cleats while announcing that he was the,
18:12their nominee for man of the year. So it was pretty, pretty cool moment.
18:15A lot of, you know, it's funny. We, we get into the X's and O's.
18:17We talk about Shaheer and the dumb hit and all these different things.
18:21There's a lot of stuff that happens off the field that these guys do that is
18:24phenomenal that gets under publicized. And yeah, that was,
18:26that was a really cool just sort of like a full whatever 360 moment or whatever
18:30you want to call it, like full circle moment that he,
18:32that he was able to have that.
18:34Steven Jackson probably could still play.
18:36Oh my God. He's a house. He's freaking jacked.
18:39He's a beast. Dreads or no dreads.
18:42I'll never forget the Steven Jackson Patriots sign him late in the year and
18:45then went into Miami and we're like, we're not going to throw the ball.
18:48We're going to try to establish the run and we're literally going to,
18:50we're going to run the ball. And I think he had like 15 carries for 30 yards.
18:53They lost the game and that's a sign of a bad thing to come for that team.
18:56But go ahead.
18:57I just, I would say in terms of, you know,
19:00in terms of what they're going to do here,
19:01this has to be a big Kyron Williams game in terms of we still,
19:04Matt Milano's only second game back.
19:05I felt like just watching some of the tape I did.
19:09I know the weather was a factor. The injuries were a factor,
19:11but I felt like as much as they blew out San Francisco,
19:16there was yards to be had for that offense.
19:19And I felt like McCaffrey was starting to get going.
19:21We saw that on that drive where he ends up getting hurt.
19:24I feel like Purdy and Kittle kind of Jennings weren't just on the same page all
19:28week. Obviously Purdy coming back,
19:30the Rams should be able to score here in this game.
19:32And you just wonder Buffalo coming off.
19:35Look,
19:36Buffalo could easily go and win this game by 10 points and we wouldn't think
19:39twice. That's the way they're playing right now.
19:40They got Detroit next week in prime time.
19:43They were just in prime time, the fun snow game.
19:45Everyone's talking one seed Allen MVP,
19:48the whole nine yards.
19:50And like the little old Rams who are a team that I don't think,
19:53I still don't think anyone really wants to play this team.
19:56And the better, the more they play, frankly,
19:58the better they get a lot of these young guys on defense,
20:01especially Fisk, Burse, et cetera. You know,
20:05young all these guys in the last two draft classes.
20:08I just, I'm not saying the Rams win this game, but if you're looking,
20:11you look up and it's like 26,
20:1421 with four minutes to go in the fourth quarter. And the bills have the ball.
20:17And you're like, Ooh, how the Rams up here. It's like the Rams are six and six,
20:20but should probably be eight and four ish at the moment.
20:24And as good as the bills are,
20:26when you sandwich prime time games like that and you have to go fly out to the
20:29West coast knowing, Ooh, we got Detroit Superbowl match up. Here we go.
20:33You tell me that those, I know they like a one game at a time. That's BS.
20:36You know that everyone's talking about, this is going to be the game of the year.
20:40And I just, I think for both Detroit and Buffalo this week,
20:45you better be careful because Buffalo loses the one seats basically gone.
20:49And you've done all this work to make up ground and you did.
20:52And if you're Detroit,
20:53you better not mess around because you'll you literally are a half game up in
20:57first place and you might go from the one to the five seat real quick.
21:00So as good as both teams are playing this game is big for the Rams.
21:04But I also think,
21:05I think it's almost bigger for Buffalo just because of the aspirations are
21:09the aspirations right now are Superbowl at Boston.
21:11It's not just getting the playoffs and try to make, you know,
21:13when a game makes some noise.
21:15Well, normally I would say this is a really bad spot for them because of what
21:18you mentioned, the big game against San Francisco, got all the spotlight,
21:21all the attention lines looming.
21:25But I would say because of what is at stake now in the AFC,
21:28because you beat Kansas city head to head,
21:30that if this team is what they think they are and what you may think they are
21:35on the outside,
21:36then this is a pretty good carrot to hold in front of them.
21:38If you're Sean McDermott and say, look, man, you can't let up.
21:41Like this is a good team we're playing.
21:43Don't look at Detroit because you lose this game.
21:46And then we're back to like, well,
21:47I guess we're gonna have to go through Casey and let something happens with Casey
21:51going forward.
21:52And that's not where you want to be.
21:53Cause they've been there before and it hasn't worked for them.
21:56Let's hear from prize picks and a big announcement from price picks for next
22:00week. And we'll have our picks later in the program.
22:02It's the best place to get real money. Sports action,
22:05over 10 million members, billions of dollars in award winnings.
22:07Prize picks has made daily fantasy sports accessible to all.
22:11You just pick more or less than at least two players and up to six for your
22:14shot to win up a hundred times your cash.
22:17And it's one of those things you go into and say, Hey, like, do I think,
22:21do I think Jalen hurts is going to go off this week?
22:23Now let me look at the numbers. Do I go more? Do I go less?
22:26Saquon Barkley pretty much.
22:27It seems like whatever the more or less is in rushing yards feels like
22:31recently.
22:32I just want to take more because he's capable of doing that.

22:55Run your game last game before we get into a little mock draft season.
23:00Seahawks at seven and five visit the six and six Arizona Cardinals.
23:05Seahawks beat Arizona in week 12.
23:08The Hawks are rolling right now. Three and O since the buy.
23:11Cardinals O and two since their buy. And if Seattle wins this again,
23:16because they're so tightly packed, you can't say that the division is theirs,
23:20but boy, they put a real stranglehold on it. And probably, I mean,
23:24Arizona would have to need a lot of things to happen down the stretch.
23:28And remember just a couple of weeks ago,
23:30they were the ones sitting in first place in the NFC West is there.
23:33All these teams are pretty well clustered. I look at this.
23:37I talk about desperation. Desperate team has to be the cards here, right?
23:41Like Seattle's rolling. It's a lot at stake here,
23:44but they still have the tiebreaker, the head-to-head stuff, Arizona.
23:48This is essentially their season here. Yeah. A couple of different,
23:52a couple of things in this game that stand out.
23:54Seattle's going to ask that beating themselves.
23:56I feel like all year it's been, they've turned it around.
23:59They've got some luck go their way. I mean, they've had some unlucky moments.
24:03I thought the Rams game was Seattle beating themselves and things of that.
24:07They had no business beating the jets last week. And that's not about, I mean,
24:10there was should have been 28 to seven. It was a great play by Leonard Williams.
24:13He's playing fantastic football and the defense was able to figure it out.
24:17Gino made plays and he needed to, but like a lot of bailout flags,
24:21whether they're right or not, they just got bailed out with some,
24:23the jets killed beat themselves. That's what bad teams do. And the jets did that.
24:26But three, you know, special teams I'm watching that this week, because frankly,
24:32I'm not sure I've seen a worst special teams game from a team in like a really
24:36long time that I watched on Sunday afternoon, three, you know,
24:40they almost fumbled three kickoffs or punts, block kicks,
24:44kickoff return allowed for a touch. I mean, that cannot happen.
24:47You just wonder with Arizona since that jets game,
24:50they had a couple of big blowouts.
24:52They won the crazy San Francisco game, obviously on the road,
24:55but they blew out the Rams.
24:57They blew out the jets at home and games that kind of were over from,
25:00from snap one, but they've also, I don't know that they kind of fade a lot.
25:07It feels like it's a lot of Kyler Murray's career, unfortunately, so far in the NFL,
25:11it's like these fast starts. And then, you know, the bills game,
25:13you think of week one,
25:14they were 28 14 in the third quarter and like just totally blew it.
25:19He started to have some of those bad turnovers again.
25:22You know, they blew the one to Minnesota and ends up in, you know,
25:26they had the multiple turnovers. The one down the left sideline was like,
25:29what are you doing? Yeah. I just, I wonder if there, I,
25:33I just wonder if Arizona is this more of who they are,
25:37which is a young team with some good foundational pieces.
25:40They're pretty well coached. I think the coaching was a little exaggerated,
25:44but they're pretty well coached for sure.
25:46Not the Gannon and pet singer, not, you know, good coaches.
25:49I don't, I don't think they're the McVay Shanahan level in the division,
25:52even, but good team. I think building blocks,
25:56they still feel a year away and maybe I'm wrong and they win this game and the
25:59Rams lose. And all of a sudden the cards are right back in it. Right.
26:01Like that's a real, that really could happen.
26:04They just feel like this is a,
26:06they're kind of feel like they're trending towards like eight, nine, nine and eight,
26:09where it's like, Oh,
26:10they're going to be a really fun trendy pick if they have a nice off season.
26:13And that's fine.
26:14I feel like Seattle's in this weird,
26:17they're kind of rounding into what you thought they were going to be in terms
26:19of, it's not a great roster. It's a good roster.
26:23It's not a great coaching staff. It's a coaching staff on the rise.
26:26That's good. They still throw the ball too much for me. I, I, again, I,
26:32I feel like that's an offensive.
26:33I feel like it's an offensive line problem and they've had, you know,
26:35they had some injuries and they've gotten some of those guys back,
26:37but it just feels like early in the year,
26:40there were some moments with Kenneth Walker was like one of the breakout
26:43candidates. Yeah. Take them to your fantasy draft, all that nonsense.
26:47And it just, they're averaging 88 yards rushing per game, which, you know,
26:51when you consider sort of the hype that went into it,
26:54that they just haven't been consistent enough there. Yeah.
26:56It just, it felt like they were first and goal from the one.
26:59They threw it four out of five times against the Jack and they, you know,
27:03they couldn't score. And it was like, dude, just, this is a white box run.
27:07I mean, on the football, what are you doing? And they didn't.
27:10But yeah, no, I, I look at this game and I think to myself, if you're Seattle,
27:14you know, you're looking at it,
27:15you're looking around the division going San Francisco is a train wreck.
27:19Not the French. I mean, they're just, they're seasons.
27:22Everybody's beat up as we've talked about earlier in the week.
27:25Then you're going Rams, Rams are hosting Buffalo.
27:28And yeah, that might be a tough game, as I mentioned,
27:30but you're looking on paper gum, Buffalo's rolling. Hey, we're, can we,
27:35can we steal one here in Arizona?
27:36And all of a sudden we're looking, we're fully in control. You know, we,
27:39we got to play the Rams again and we got to play nine, like, but like, we,
27:43we feel pretty good about ourselves.
27:45I think I like Seattle in this game just because I like,
27:49I think I like, don't love both quarterbacks,
27:52but I kind of like Gino's ability sometimes to like,
27:56he's just make some dumb decisions,
27:59but he also sometimes like makes these throws. You're like, just wow.
28:02And I know Kyler's the same way. I don't know. I, I guess I just like Seattle.
28:06I think I like McDonald better than I like better than I Gannon. And I,
28:10I just like the way the Seahawks defense is playing overall,
28:14they seem to be coming up these big, big time plays. I mean,
28:17Leonard Williams, Witherspoon, et cetera. Again, I,
28:22this game will, this game means a lot though.
28:24It really does because if you're Arizona,
28:27I don't know how you come back from,
28:28you know, the way it's spiraled here.
28:30And then on top of that you have zero tiebreaker over Seattle and you might not
28:34have the tiebreaker over the Rams or San Francisco at the end of the day.
28:37It's, it's not a great place to be in.
28:39Yeah. That's why if I were a betting man,
28:41I'd probably kind of lean towards Arizona just out of sheer desperation.
28:45You were talking about how they put a lot on Gino because of the run game.
28:50This is fascinating to me because Arizona,
28:53I think it's sort of evolved into a different kind of game.
28:55They realized that they don't have enough horses.
28:57So they're blitzing a lot. They're bringing a lot of different pressures,
29:00just looking for turnovers, looking to, you know,
29:03sort of confuse the quarterback. Gino, Gino's one of those guys.
29:07Yeah. Gino's one of those guys where he might, if he's on a heater,
29:11he might throw four touchdowns. You know,
29:13there might be two 70 yard touchdown bombs to DK and,
29:16and Jackson Smith or yeah.
29:20Or he doesn't see it coming and he's 12 interceptions.
29:23That's what he did the last time they played them.
29:25He has horrible interceptions against the Rams too. It was like, dude,
29:28what are you doing last week?
29:30I feel like you did a good job of evading pressure at times and was able to hit
29:33some of those crossers. JSN does a fantastic job of like hash to hash.
29:39He is so good in scramble rules.
29:42So good at like finding those little pockets and Gino and MF great chemistry.
29:46So they're going to have to lean on that because again,
29:48they don't run the football well in Arizona, frankly,
29:50doesn't give up a lot against the run anyway.
29:51So probably not your best bet of trying to beat them, especially now.
29:55Definitely not. But it should be, it's going to be a fun game.
30:00I think for sure. Let's hear now from game time.
30:03I just got an email as we're doing this thing.
30:06Pearl jam, North American concert tour this summer.
30:11I want tickets. How do I get tickets? I have an idea.
30:14Game time brings you the goods.
30:17Game time picks filters out the fluff to show you the incredible deals on
30:19great seats. So you don't have to waste time
30:22searching through thousands of tickets. And I keep saying this,
30:25but it drives me nuts when you're on somebody else's site,
30:27which now you don't even bother with those anymore.
30:29And you have to like keep changing the parameters.
30:31Oh, they only have one ticket, but I said two.
30:33And now you got to reset and do the whole thing.
30:35Not game time takes care of that for you.
30:37Just download the app, create an account and use the code CLNS
30:40for $20 off your first purchase. Terms apply.
30:43Can create the account, use the code CLNS for $20 off.
30:46Download game time today. What time is it? It's game time.
30:50It's also time for mock draft season.
30:53One of our favorites, Dane Brugler from the athletic released his first
30:57mock draft of the year, December, whatever it was,
31:00December 3rd, December 2nd, just to round one.
31:04He's not, he's not diving into the three rounds,
31:06seven rounds as, as we end up doing as you get along here.
31:10And then you have that little period of time where content is you're
31:13looking for some content. But for me, I'll just,
31:19before I ask you what has jumped out and I've sort of known it as we've gone
31:23along in the process and I've started to dig a little bit more into it.
31:26There's a lot of questions about this draft.
31:29It's leaning in a lot of places when people start talking about maybe
31:32running back being the deepest position in the draft.
31:36And man, maybe not a great year to be up top or looking for that
31:39franchise quarterback. Brugler pointed out Travis Hunter,
31:44the Colorado, the dual threat, likely Heisman winner,
31:47wide receiver corner would be the only guy in his mind that would have been
31:52picking the top 10 picks of last year's draft.
31:55And when I look at last year's draft without even looking at the results this
31:58year, just again, looking at the names and how I felt about talking to people,
32:01how I felt about some of these players, he's absolutely right.
32:04There was like, I didn't have too many, like we nitpick the quarterbacks,
32:07right? Well, Jayden doesn't throw the ball over the middle and he's slight.
32:12And Drake May's footwork's a bit of a mess, but like, dude,
32:15those were the guys. We knew they were the guys.
32:18Marvin Harrison, Malik Neighbors, like it just, it was all alt.
32:21Like it was just very easy. Like, okay, maybe J.C. Latham
32:25going that early, surprising people, but he's an athletic freak at tackle.
32:28And like you put him with Callahan, you're like, all right,
32:31we're going to be great. But like, by and large, it was just like,
32:34that was really kind of easy. You weren't sure of the order,
32:35but you kind of knew the guys that were going to be in the top group.
32:39This one is once you get past Travis Hunter, who he mocked number one overall,
32:43and he did it based on the rank of the records right now.
32:47So the Jaguars would have the number one pick after that.
32:50It's just like, you may think this guy's the second best player in the draft
32:53or the best player at that position. And you need that position,
32:57but you could easily take these guys, put them in a bag.
33:00And, you know, we could be doing this a month from now,
33:01two months from now and saying some guy that wasn't even in the first round
33:05is now crept into the top 15. Like, I think it's that wide open this year.
33:10So just quickly, Travis Hunter, number one, Vegas, Cam Ward,
33:16the quarterback out of Miami, the Giants, Shador Sanders, number three,
33:20the Patriots tackle, maybe guard, Will Campbell, number four,
33:25the Panthers, Abdul Carter, the edge player from Penn State.
33:28And Galen Walker, linebacker, edge to the Jets, also in the top 10.
33:36Just your thoughts on, well, you know what?
33:39Let's just start there as you make the face and smile.
33:42Walker, 6'2", 245. Can he be an edge guy?
33:46Is he an off-the-ball linebacker?
33:48Just knowing what you know now today, December 5th,
33:52would you be happy if that was the player that they picked with their selection?
33:55I'd have to know what team to run defensively.
33:58Because, well, just one thing, I look at this draft, and I agree with you.
34:03I think players pick 8 through 30, throw it in a bag and shake it up
34:09and see what falls out because it's going.
34:11Not that there's not a ranking of players and not that there's not a hierarchy,
34:17but based on the way teams may fall, based on the way positional needs
34:21and the quarterbacks being such a mess and all these different things,
34:23we're going to see tight ends go much higher than probably they traditionally would go.
34:28And we're going to see guys reach on safeties and running backs and things like that
34:32because the game has changed, obviously, as we know.
34:35And the NFL is kind of moving back towards this, like, try to win a game 20-17,
34:39have your quarterback be able to evade pressure but not turn the football over,
34:42run the football, line a scrimmage, the whole thing.
34:44We've gone back to that era. That's a real thing.
34:46And even looking at the numbers, Burroughs having a historic season,
34:49and he's going to maybe throw for 40 touchdowns.
34:51If he has a really great last month.
34:54We're not so far removed from like Mahomes going 50-500 and 50 and the whole thing.
35:01It's the truth.
35:03If the Jets, if the board had worked out the way it did,
35:07I have a few differences in the way I think I would.
35:09I don't think Vegas is going to pass on Chidora.
35:11I think that it's like, if he's on the board and Vegas is picking,
35:15he will be in the black and gold.
35:17He's the perfect Mark Davis selection.
35:20He is.
35:22And he's pretty clearly something with the Raiders and his tweets.
35:26I mean, it's every time the Raiders win a game.
35:28It's all glory to God or whatever the tweet is.
35:31And it's not inconvenient.
35:33Look it up.
35:35It's every time they win.
35:37Working back to front from just that top six,
35:39if Mason Graham's on the board and you're the Jets,
35:41I think I'd rather, he's not a sexy pick.
35:44He's probably a guy that goes in the 10 to 15 range a year ago.
35:48So picking him at six is an interior defensive lineman.
35:51You go, ah, is that a bit of a reach?
35:53But then you go think to yourself,
35:55let's just say this team does hire Mike Frabel or I don't know.
35:58It doesn't matter.
36:00Or a Brian floor.
36:01It doesn't matter.
36:02Just go through whatever the name is.
36:04Hey, next year, they're running out.
36:06Jermaine will McDonald, Quinn Williams and Mason Graham.
36:08And, you know, you know, Quincy Williams and Jamie and Sherwood is
36:12their front six.
36:14Now we're talking about the upgrade from Mason Graham to,
36:17from Javon Kinlaw and Solomon Thomas is quite stark.
36:20Maybe this defensive lines back to being what we thought it was going to be
36:23going into the year.
36:24Does this make this defense back to what it was as a top five unit?
36:27I could, the Jets do need help at edge because it can win.
36:30McDonald's probably more of a two down guy.
36:32He's been awesome.
36:3310 sacks.
36:34Only the third Jets player to have 10 sacks as a homegrown, you know,
36:37edge since, since John Abraham, John Abraham,
36:40and Bryce off back-to-back years after not getting it for, for 16 years.
36:44Hopefully you will.
36:45McDonald doesn't walk to the Eagles in three years,
36:47but Jermaine coming off the Achilles, they'll lose Reddick.
36:50So there, there's some need there.
36:52Ted McMillan was the one that I thought fell further in this,
36:56this mock that I would have expected.
36:58I'm tempted to say the Patriots that would have taken him at four there.
37:01I like Will Campbell.
37:04I'm not sure he's my tackle one, and I'm not even sure he's a tackle.
37:06And I don't know that the Patriots can take a guy that's not necessarily a
37:10tackle at four overall.
37:12As much as this draft might be, you know, a crapshoot.
37:16I don't know that people, I know they need offensive line help,
37:19but I'm tempted to say that when we get to the off season,
37:21the Patriots going to be a lot of bodies and, you know,
37:26free agency trade, all these different things,
37:29and then getting their own homegrown one, a, this guy's a beast.
37:33Drake making their 50, 50 balls too.
37:34And he'll make plays after the catch guy feels more like the pick that would
37:40appease people.
37:42And then one other thing I want to say about Travis Hunter is it's very,
37:46going to be very interesting how these next six weeks unfold because some
37:51full diapages it's where we're really getting down into it.
37:54But if you're, if it ends up being Vegas and the giants one,
38:00two, which I think there's a chance it could be now,
38:01Matt Jones starting in Jacksonville, they're pretty damn, pretty damn bad.
38:05But it, let's just say it is the giants in Vegas.
38:08What does the team at three do?
38:10That's what's going to be the real conversation for me.
38:13Hunter's clearly the best player in the draft.
38:15If you're the Patriots or the jets or whatever,
38:18you're Gonzalez and Travis Hunter is our duo or sauce Gardner and Travis Hunter,
38:22or even in Jacksonville, you're like, wow,
38:24like Trevor Lawrence is one number one receiver and number one corner.
38:28Or do you go, he's clearly the best player in the draft.
38:31And we could actually, it's the one player in the draft.
38:34We could probably get a boatload of picks for,
38:36because someone's going to come up and say, I need this.
38:39This is going to sell jerseys. This is going to sell tickets.
38:41You know, maybe the Jags want, I don't know.
38:44There's so many questions, but Mike, I, I just, that to me is the bigger,
38:48like we usually see it for quarterbacks and yeah, there'll be some,
38:50I'm sure there'll be talks around ward and should or,
38:53and someone will talk themselves into 20 years and someone will talk themselves
38:56into Nussmeier and whether Jay Miller, who there's rumors,
39:00he may be staying in school and transferring.
39:02I don't know what I would recommend.
39:05He does that because I think he needs a lot of work when you get a team to jump
39:09off sides and you throw the football away on a free play that shows me you're,
39:12you're not quite there yet. Great athlete.
39:15But I guess encompassing this whole point here is that like,
39:19there's a bunch of edge guys. There's some, there's, there's, you know,
39:22is Gente going to go to the Cowboys at pick nine?
39:23Like that just feels like it's going to happen. Then we're going to, you know,
39:27but I guess all encompassing is like the guy with the most value in this draft
39:31isn't a quarterback. And I,
39:33I think that's going to be so interesting to watch because again,
39:36we always see like last year,
39:39the biggest thing coming out of that draft and hard knocks was New England held
39:43all the cards to the draft because we knew quarterback one, two,
39:46we didn't know about three. There was Marvin. Was it going to be alt?
39:49Was it going to be may McCarthy, et cetera.
39:53Patriots turned down a heck of a lot. And I'll, I'll, I'll phrase this question.
39:58I want to hear your one more thoughts on the mantra.
40:00There was an interesting article in sports illustrated today,
40:02what the bangles should do with Jamar chase.
40:04And do they follow the chief's model and with the Patriots as well as Washington
40:10be teams that would give up.
40:12They believe they have the Patriots giving up two, three, a second, a third,
40:16and then a first and a fourth and 26 for Jamar chase. If you're the bangles,
40:21would you entertain it? Rebuild the roster. It always picks if you're Washington,
40:24it was like a first, a second and a fifth thoughts on the mock draft.
40:28And then thoughts on the idea of pulling the Tyreek Brett Veach situation.
40:33Hey, we have our quarterback. Do we build the roster with, you know,
40:38is it Juan Soto or is it Breckman, you know, Santander,
40:42the same kind of example. Yeah. What's plan B.
40:44So quarterbacks always drive the draft. Right.
40:47And I think you went into this thing and you know,
40:50some people were like Carson Beck should have come out last year and he would
40:53have been a top 10 pick and like Carson Beck's had a really tough year.
40:57He's fallen out of the first round. Maybe someone,
40:59maybe he has a great circuit after the year's over and someone convinces
41:03themselves at the back end of the first round.
41:05Like I want the fifth year on this guy. You know, we can sit him for a year.
41:09We'll get them right. You mentioned yours like don't love.
41:14Uh, I, Ward is exciting as hell,
41:18but like it's flaws in his game. Shador is not a big dude.
41:23He's not super athletic. Like it's funny.
41:26When I looked at the thing and I saw that the giants Adam, you know,
41:29in days mock at three, I'm like, man, I don't,
41:32not that they don't get weather out West, you know,
41:35it's not like Colorado's, but like that life can be challenging.
41:39Northeast can be challenging.
41:40Look at Rogers. One of the best arms of all time played.
41:43You maybe you could argue that he may have been fibbing a little bit with the
41:47wind because he was being defensive,
41:49but Aaron Rogers is one of the two or three most talented arms we've ever seen
41:54in football and arm strength is never, it's still not a problem.
41:56And he's having some weird issues with met life. You got to have like Sam,
42:02Sam Donald's arm looks a little different in Minnesota and the dome than it did
42:05outside with the jets. Also I'm saying.
42:06Yeah, for sure. So I, that to me was like sort of like a, you know,
42:10like you better be careful what you're thinking about.
42:12Yeah. Eyebrow raise, right? Yeah. The Will Campbell thing. Like I,
42:16I mean, I've, I've talked about it. He's his, you know,
42:19we're about to head towards arm length season,
42:21which is very important for these tackles and some of these edge guys.
42:24And by and large, people think he's going to be average,
42:27maybe even below average for what you'd want at the position.
42:30There are people I've already talked to around the league who think he is a
42:33guard. There are some that are steadfast dude.
42:36He's played left tackle and LSU since he was a freshman,
42:39the dude can handle it. He's really good athlete, really good on his feet.
42:43So he can make up for the lack of arm length with his overall athleticism.
42:48But you better be damn sure if you're picking a four and you're picking that
42:52guy, if he's the, if you believe he's the best of the, of the bunch,
42:56you better be sure he's the left tackle because he can't be a left guard.
42:59It's not, it's Kevin Banks out of Texas and not more of a guy who you're like,
43:03I'm, he's my left tackle. That's my guy.
43:06He's an interesting one because I'm getting mixed reports on him.
43:09A lot of people think he might be a guard.
43:11So like the kid from Minnesota who falls down a lot, uh, he's in,
43:15he's in Dave's draft as well.
43:17I think he might've been the second tackle or third tackle off the board for
43:19him. Some people think he's the best. And I think, I don't know that he's,
43:23he moves well. I just, he feels raw to me. He feels like, um,
43:28him and Connor Williams in Texas feel like cheaper versions of the Marius
43:33athlete, right? Like, uh, if for instance,
43:36if I think those guys were in that draft piece,
43:38if the three guys I just mentioned, four guys, we just mentioned,
43:41we're in this tackle draft, where are they going?
43:44They're going after Mims, right? Like all, all like maybe
43:49four guy. Oh, Lou is a goddamn rock. Right.
43:52In Seattle, 42 pass rush snaps. Yeah. Oh, it was a good player.
43:56I know that there's, there's been some revenge.
43:58Oh, if they drafted Bowers, like I get it, but like, I don't know.
44:00The Jets could draft Tyler Warren this year,
44:03if they win enough games in the next five.
44:05And I'd rather probably have Olu and Tyler Warren than Brock Bowers.
44:10And a question mark,
44:11left tackle when you're going to went to a regime with a new coach,
44:14new GM and probably new quarterback.
44:16So what are your thoughts quickly on the chase thing before we get to our,
44:19uh, our prize picks? Yeah, it's a good question.
44:22Would you entertain it if you're Cincinnati and be how aggressive would you be
44:26if you're one of the teams with a guy on a rookie quarterback,
44:30I'll be at Washington, Chicago, new England. Uh, yeah,
44:35I think we've seen path to do it. Right. Yeah.
44:37I think we've seen all three of those teams already sort of indicate that
44:40they're willing to be aggressive. And we know that with the sweepstakes,
44:43right? Like the Patriots offered supposedly the most money and they agreed
44:48to terms. I just didn't want to come here.
44:50And maybe that would have changed now if he sees Drake may, maybe it doesn't,
44:53maybe you just don't want to play in Foxborough, uh, Massachusetts,
44:56I can understand the Steelers were very much involved with the IU thing.
45:01In fact, you know, for the longest time,
45:03we thought he was steering it in that direction and Washington has sniffed
45:06around as well. So I think it makes all the sense in the world for those teams
45:09to be involved. If I'm Cincinnati though,
45:13the first thing I'm doing,
45:15and I don't know if Mike Brown would do this cause he's Mike Brown.
45:17I go to Joe burrow and I say, Joe, look, man, we took,
45:21you had an awesome year. We've taken a step back.
45:23We can't afford both T and Jamar and Jamar for whatever reason,
45:27his feelings are hurt and we can't come to some sort of agreement there.
45:30I promise you, we're going to take a wide receiver.
45:34I promise you we're going to be, but we're getting all this stuff back.
45:37Are you, can you handle that now from Joe? I say, hell no.
45:40Don't give me one of them at least like figure it out.
45:43And obviously chase is the, you know,
45:45if he's not the best receiver in the league buying,
45:47he's the guy right behind Justin Jefferson. So I w I would have that conversation.
45:50I don't know that Mike will,
45:52and based on what they've shown us and where we were talking about,
45:56I think earlier this week or maybe last week, like,
45:59I still think that they're like, they pay Joe,
46:01but it feels like they're still cheap.
46:03Henderson didn't get his thing. Higgins didn't get his thing.
46:08It just feels like, I don't, you know, I don't know, man.
46:10If you're the Patriots, right? You,
46:12you let's just say they pick four overall for whatever they've,
46:15I know they have more than just their initial picks.
46:17How much of this draft would you move for chase?
46:21I'd move. You'd move one in a heartbeat. No.
46:25I mean, chase is 24 years old. Like,
46:28you know, it's interesting about that. So again,
46:30if we talked about the sort of the,
46:32the interest in all these sorts of things and making calls on these guys,
46:37I always have still wondered about whether Robert would pony up the money.
46:41Robert Kraft would pony up the money. If you know, what's the, Hey,
46:44you can have a cost controlled wide receiver for four or five years versus
46:47we're going to give up all these assets and then pay them.
46:49But apparently they're willing to do that with IU. So
46:53I give up the number four overall.
46:55I would try to push them on next year's number one.
46:57I would give them a two or three.
46:59Similar to what was suggested,
47:00which would be a two and a three and then a one or four and you're following
47:04because you'd hope you'd be good enough in year three.
47:07Where it's in the late teens or in the twenties and that doesn't hurt as much
47:11as picking four. But again,
47:13with the draft not being as top heavy this year,
47:15maybe this is the year if you were really going to do that,
47:18that you'd give up four. I saw, I guess I would have to ponder it more,
47:22but I guess my first inclination would be, I'd probably do it.
47:25I would probably do it.
47:26I think I would too, because I know it's probably 1% chance they'd do it.
47:30But if I'm new England, I'm like,
47:33that's what I'm doing in this off season.
47:34I'm calling all those teams that have those guys that are fringe going to get
47:39paid. You know,
47:40we're not going to call the jets because the jets are going to happen,
47:42but all those guys from that class, those two classes and say,
47:48you know, we're here. If you want to move them, you know,
47:51we're interested because we have our quarterback and that's,
47:54that's where we're at
47:56quickly before we do the picks and get out of here. Would you,
47:59if you were Cincinnati, if you couldn't get a one this year,
48:02if you're doing what we're talking about, the one next year,
48:04the two and a three this year, would you do it?
48:07I, so my inclinations to be saying no,
48:10but if you trusted your GM and your head coach enough and you felt stable
48:16enough that you were in lockstep with your quarterback,
48:18your head coach and your GM,
48:19that you're going to be patient about this thing for about 12 to 18 months,
48:23I'd seriously consider it only from the aspect of you kind of need to start
48:27over anyways, right? You kind of, you're in that bridge.
48:29Buffalo's going through it this year and they're overachieving.
48:32We saw the chiefs overachieve as well.
48:34My home was when an MVP, you know,
48:35they went 14 and three after trading Tyreek who was four years older.
48:39So I'd seriously consider if I'm going to get four top a hundred picks and I'm
48:43going to free up 35 ish million dollars a year in cap space,
48:47and it's going to be more than that with the cap going up,
48:49it'll be a bigger percentage. And I trust I can fill out my defense,
48:52make sure my offensive line is going to give Joe good enough pieces.
48:56Can you retain T Higgins and have four top a hundred picks and maybe a
49:02sign, another guy to, to, to patchwork it. If you try,
49:06if Joe's good enough, you probably that Joe's good enough.
49:09You at least consider it. I don't know if I'd do it,
49:11but I'd at least consider it because of how good of a quarterback he is that I
49:15think he could elevate those around him. Maybe better than, you know,
49:19if you had the 12th best quarterback, you don't, if you have a tough three guy,
49:22you can probably do it.
49:23Yeah. My homes are now and they did it with that.
49:25And they probably, that would probably be part of the pitch.
49:27Joe couldn't do it.
49:28I don't think Joe could do it. Why not? Yeah. Yeah.
49:30I just don't know if I'm Joe, if I trust the owner. All right,
49:33let's get to our picks. Yeah. For prize picks. I've got four for you.
49:38I'll just rattle them off. I'm going to take a red hot NFC player of the week,
49:43offensive player of the week, Bucky Irving, more than 66.5 yards rushing.
49:48I'm going to say Patrick,
49:49my homes goes less than the 242.5 yards passing in this game.
49:55Against the number one defense in the chargers.
49:57I am going to take as I can't read my right. Oh yes.
50:00Brandon Aubrey, the kicker for Dallas. I was mentioning kickers 47.5 yards,
50:04more than that on his long field goal of the game is they continue to struggle
50:08to score touchdowns, but can field goals.
50:10And Jerry Judy has been force-fed the football a ton and has delivered for
50:14Jamis Winston.
50:15That's going to continue more than three and a half receptions.
50:19My quick three here. I mentioned him before Kyron Williams,
50:22more on his yardage.
50:23I believe this is the game that the Rams are just going to need.
50:26They're going to need 22 carries for one 15 and a touchdown from Kyron to win
50:29this football game more in terms of Jalen Waddle,
50:32in terms of anything you can get.
50:34And I say that because sauce Gardner is going to likely not play potentially
50:38will play,
50:39but it's going to be a tough game for the Rams.
50:41I'm going to take a red hot NFC player of the week.
50:44I'm going to take as I can.
50:45It seems like they're not going to risk it. And it's also coming off.
50:48The best game is here. It's a real shame,
50:50which means DJ Reed's going to probably have to do more work on Tyreek hill.
50:53Michael Carter is going to have to do more work in the run game because
50:56that's what the dolphins do against the jets,
50:58which means Jalen Waddle is likely going to be on potentially Qantas stiggers.
51:02Who's a fifth round, you know, fits around rookie, you know,
51:05and the jets are obviously in a bit of a bit of a mess,
51:08but it's going to be a tough game for the Rams.
51:11And the jets are obviously in a bit of a bit of a mess at the moment,
51:16as we know, I'm going to go one, one tonight.
51:19I'll throw out there if possible.
51:22I like,
51:24I like all of what like the Packers have a potential to do here.
51:28And I like specifically Josh Jacobs.
51:31I say that because a lot of injuries on Detroit side,
51:34we know that they've lost linebackers.
51:36They've lost talent all over their defense.
51:39This again,
51:40feels like Detroit's been playing rough game after rough game.
51:44They went in there and beat,
51:46beat the lions and beat the Packers ass a little bit.
51:49And they have their,
51:51that 10 day mini buy coming up and they need it bad.
51:54Dan Campbell talked about it and they got Buffalo coming in there in a week.
51:57And it's like, you're not overlooking green Bay,
51:59but there are two games,
52:00two and a half games behind you.
52:01And you can kind of feel like, you know,
52:03they feel good about themselves as they should.
52:05I just wonder,
52:06does green Bay go in there and be like you punched us in the mouth for 60
52:09minutes,
52:10three weeks ago in our building,
52:11we're going to come in there and try to punch you right in the mouth.
52:14And even if it doesn't work,
52:15Josh Jacobs,
52:16hammer the moors because I don't know,
52:20Jake's playing really well.
52:21And I feel like green Bay knows if they have any shot to catch these teams.
52:25Remember green Bay still plays Minnesota and green Bay.
52:28If they win this game,
