Fair weather expected in most parts of the Philippines

WATCH: The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, Dec. 5 said fair weather can be expected in most parts of the country over the next 24 hours. 00:00At the moment, we are still not monitoring the LPA or storm inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:09For now, this Northeast Monsoon or Hanging Amihan is only affecting the extreme northern Luzon area.

00:16And in our latest satellite animation, we have a clear line of clouds

00:22that is affecting the eastern part of the northern Luzon.

00:26So that's the line of clouds, that's the shear line,

00:29or that's the area where the cold wind of Hanging Amihan is blowing

00:33and the hot wind that is coming from the Pacific Ocean.

00:37And because of the effect of this shear line,

00:39it is consistent that we have a clear cluster of clouds that is affecting the northern Luzon.

00:44So let's hope that some areas of the northern Luzon will experience rainy weather today due to the effect of the shear line.

00:53And in the southern part of our country,

00:55we cannot see any thick clouds that could cause continuous rain.

01:02So generally, we have fair weather conditions from central Luzon to southern Luzon,

01:07as well as in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

01:10The only possibility is sudden or temporary rainfall due to localized thunderstorms.

01:18So there will be weather conditions today here in Luzon, as we mentioned earlier.

01:22Because of the effect of this shear line, it will be rainy weather in some parts of the northern Luzon,

01:28particularly in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, as well as in Ilocos Norte.

01:35We are hoping for a cloudy weather today,

01:38and this will be accompanied by scattered rainfall, thunderstorms, and thunderstorms.

01:42And because of the effect of the northeast monsoon, the sky will be cloudy in the Batanes area,

01:48although the rain that we are expecting in Batanes will be light or just a drizzle.

01:53And for the rest of Luzon, in central Luzon, in Metro Manila,

01:58or here in Metro Manila, as well as in Mimaropa and Bicol Region,

02:02generally, we are expecting fair weather.

02:05The only possibility is sudden or temporary rainfall due to localized thunderstorms.

02:13As for the temperature forecast for the surrounding cities here in Luzon today,

02:17because we are hoping for a cloudy weather in the area of Cagayan,

02:22the maximum temperatures will be low, especially in Tuguegarao,

02:26which can only reach 25 degrees Celsius.

02:30Meanwhile, the outside temperature will range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius,

02:3618 to 22 for Baguio City,

02:38and for Metro Manila, as well as Legazpi,

02:41our maximum temperatures will reach 32 degrees Celsius.

02:45As for Tagaytay, the outside temperature will range from 21 to 31 degrees Celsius.

02:52As for the weather forecast for the surrounding areas of our country,

02:56such as Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,

02:59our weather will be clear, so it will be hot,

03:02especially when the afternoon comes,

03:04and there are only possibilities of sudden rainfall,

03:08which is usually experienced in the afternoon and at night due to localized thunderstorms.

03:13Our temperature forecast for the surrounding cities in Palawan,

03:17particularly in Calayan Islands,

03:19will range from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius,

03:2333 degrees Celsius maximum temperatures for Puerto Princesa.

03:27As for the surrounding cities in Visayas,

03:29the outside temperature for Iloilo will range from 26 to 31 degrees Celsius,

03:35while the maximum temperatures for Tacloban and Cebu will reach 32 degrees Celsius.

03:41As for Cagayan de Oro,

03:42the outside temperature will range from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius,

03:4725 to 35 degrees Celsius for Metro Davao,

03:50and in Zamboanga, it will reach 34 degrees Celsius.

03:56As of now, we still have weather advisory

03:58or forecasts of heavy rainfall in the next 2 to 3 days,

04:03especially in the northern zone due to the effect of shear line.

04:07So today or within the next 24 hours,

04:10for areas of Cagayan, Isabela, and also in Apayaw and Calinga,

04:16we may still experience moderate to heavy rainfall,

04:19that is 50 to 100 millimeters, 24-hour accumulated rainfall in those areas.

04:25So this means that there is a possibility of flooding,

04:29especially in flood-prone areas.

04:31So be careful, fellow citizens, here in the mentioned areas.

04:35And tomorrow, we may still experience heavy rainfall in Cagayan and Isabela,

04:40where moderate to heavy rainfall is still possible.

04:44That is still due to the effect of shear line.

04:48As for the condition of our seas, we do not have gale warnings as of now.

04:51Just be careful of the floodplains,

04:54in the seas of the northern zone,

04:56you may still experience moderate to heavy,

04:59or moderate rather to flooded seas.

05:03And in most of our country,

05:05our fellow citizens, fishermen, and also those who have small fishing vessels,

05:10are far from flooding.

05:14Our sunrise is at 6 or 8 a.m.

05:16and it will sink later at 5 or 6 p.m.
