00:00It was a gloomy and rainy start of Tuesday for our countrymen in some parts of the country.
00:05This is still due to the effects of the shear line and drought.
00:08So to be more prepared today, let's find out the update from Weather Specialist, Veronica Torres.
00:16Good morning to you all who are now with us on ETV4.
00:21At the moment, the shear line is the one that is continuing to have an effect on the eastern part of Central Luzon.
00:25This shear line is the result of the cold wind from the northeast and the hot wind from the east.
00:31This shear line brings heavy rainfall and heavy snowfall in Metro Manila, Cagayan, Isabela, Quilino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Bissau, Quezon, and Calayaan Islands.
00:44Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon has an effect on Northern Luzon and brings heavy rainfall in the southern part of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.
00:55In the Ilocos Region, there are fair weather conditions that have a chance of heavy rainfall.
00:59In the southern part of the country, there are also fair weather conditions that have a chance of localized thunderstorms.
01:05We are not at high altitudes.
01:24This is a warning to all the citizens of our country.
01:27Please be careful in the northern part of Central Luzon because it will be calm until the sea level rises.
01:35We also have a weather advisory that was updated earlier at 11 a.m.
01:40Heavy to intense rainfall is possible in Isabela and moderate to heavy rainfall in Aurora, Cagayan, Apayao, Calinga, and Ilocos Norte.
01:49This is an update on our tropical cyclone threat potential.
01:52Week 1, December 2 to December 8, we did not see a TC-like vortex.
01:58Although there is a forecast that shows a tropical cyclone-like vortex likely to emerge within PMV during the forecast period with low likelihood of TC development.
02:11This tropical cyclone vortex is possible to form near the western boundary of our area.
02:18Week 2, December 9 to 5, the forecast suggests that a tropical cyclone-like vortex may emerge in our area during the forecast period with a low to moderate likelihood of tropical cyclone development.
02:33This tropical cyclone vortex is possible to emerge in our tropical cyclone advisory domain and enter our Philippine area of responsibility and traverse the Visayas-Southern Luzon area in week 2, which is December 9 to December 15.
02:49Although at the moment, we do not monitor a low pressure area or typhoon inside or near our CAR, we will continue to monitor the upcoming updates of the forecast.
