00:00I've said this since last year. I'm sure you agree with me. Why they didn't just cut the cord with everyone to start fresh with a new quarterback, the number one overall pick Caleb Williams. Instead, you knew Eber Flus was a stiff. I mean, you know, I mean, you knew he wasn't any good last year. You bring them back. Now you're going to have to chop them after this disaster. And you're going to have to start fresh again.
00:30With the quarterback, with a brand new system, brand new coach, brand new, maybe even, I mean, who knows how high up the purging will go beyond Eber Flus in the Bear organization. They just can never get it right, Joe. You just can't figure it out.
00:45No, no. And if this was the same, I mean, Ryan Paul's the general manager, right? I mean, it was his, he signed off on Shane Waldron. And you thought this guy was somehow or another going to be the savior and the one to elevate. I mean, how many more times and examples do we have to see Cliff Kingsbury, Jaden Daniels right now, right?
01:06We have seen it across the board where coaching with young quarterbacks matters. And you, to me, that's why I bet their season win total under. I said, by keeping Eber Flus, bringing in Shane Waldron and doing the same old, same old, you're basically setting Caleb Williams up to fail. And that's exactly what they're doing. Because this time next year, he'll already be on his third offensive coordinator and second head coach in two years. That's how you ruin guys.
01:37And I couldn't believe it was eight and a half, Joe. Couldn't believe I was getting the Bears at under eight and a half at the start of the year with a rookie quarterback and a bad head coach. That just seemed like a great recipe. And listen, this is a tale we've seen way too many times now. Name them, you can ring them up. Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold. You know, you go on and on about all these guys who get drafted, high expectations.
02:03Sometimes, Joe, where you are drafted and the situation and the organization that you are put in dictates your success more than how much talent you have. And are there some guys who just their talent is just so great that they're able to just plow through a bad poorly run organization, I guess. But those guys are the best of the best.
02:27When you're a rookie quarterback, you're a first-year quarterback. You can't be in some of these unmanageable situations like we see around the league. And it ain't going to change, right? I mean, you look at, you know, the Raiders have been a problem for, I mean, maybe the Raiders will be different now because Brady's there to make some decisions after this year about the coach or the quarterback in the draft and things like that.
02:50But you need to have stability and people who know what they're doing and put them around these quarterbacks or else you just, you go watch them be great somewhere else. Like the Jets are watching with Darnold or Cleveland's watching with Baker Mayfield.
03:05And, you know, Carver, we've seen it one other time in the draft in history where a quarterback coming out and a football family says, yeah, no, you're not drafting my son. We won't show up. Eli did it because they knew at that time they were going to be an absolute disaster to Chargers. And you know what's going to happen this year?
03:30Yeah. Deion Sanders is not going to let a terrible run organization draft Shador in any way, shape or form. So even they understand that coaching matters where a kid goes matters to the success of the NFL.
