00:00I am on my way to Lakshadweep.
00:27Officially made it to Lakshadweep.
00:47This is the airport at Agathi and look at this view.
00:51I think this might be the prettiest airport I have been to.
00:53I mean, what is this view?
00:59I am heading to this island called Bangaram which is one hour away by boat.
01:03So let's get going.
01:04Made it to Bangaram.
01:05It's quite a small island actually and the entire island is the resort.
01:31This place looks so pristine and untouched.
01:33The water is so clear, so freaking blue.
01:36It almost looks like it's glowing.
01:38I don't think I have ever seen this shade of blue.
01:40So it's insanely beautiful.
01:42Lakshadweep has been on my bucket list for so many years now but for the longest time
01:46I didn't really know how to get here.
01:48I knew you needed permits but I didn't really know what the procedure was and all of that.
01:51When you are applying for a permit yourself, you need someone local from Lakshadweep to
01:56write a sponsorship letter for you.
01:57So it's almost impossible I feel to get a permit yourself.
02:09So if you are wondering how much all of this costs, it really depends on when you are visiting.
02:13So right now the prices are a bit slashed.
02:15So per day, a room for two people is for 8000 rupees and that includes all three meals.
02:21So it's actually a really great deal.
02:23But I think during peak season it goes up to 15000 or a little bit higher than that.
02:28And apart from this, you also have to arrange for the boat.
02:31So the boat I think is 6000 rupees two way from Agathi to Bangaram and Bangaram to back.
02:41We've come for dinner now and I've gotten a lot of food.
02:45The food here is actually really nice.
02:47It's very basic Indian food but they have a buffet and you can eat as much food as you want.
02:54This resort only opened for public like six days ago.
02:59So we're one of the first few people to be back here.
03:02But anyway, we've got a scuba diving slot for 11.30am, which is like a couple of hours away.
03:07So we're just exploring the island until then.
03:16So they have a whole helipad here, which is so cool.
03:19Apparently, when the weather isn't that great, they bring you from Agathi to here in a chopper.
03:24But look at this view.
03:31So that there I think is the sand bank.
03:33In the evening, I think you can just walk to it because the water comes down.
03:37So we're probably going to come in the evening and then head there.
03:40So we're all set to go scuba diving.
03:42So excited.
03:44But the water today is so cold.
03:46So slowly easing myself into the water.
04:17Wow, that was really nice.
04:18We saw a lot of different types of fish.
04:21We saw giant clams.
04:22That's what they are, right?
04:23Like a bunch of different giant clams.
04:25If you're a serious diver, this is like a great place to visit.
04:38So we're actually taking a boat to head to the sand bank.
04:41So that's exciting.
04:42Let's go.
04:47We have made it to the sand bank.
04:54Oh my God.
04:55This is insane.
04:59Wow.
05:15We're going to be visiting this island called Tenakara, which is right here.
05:18I think that's the island we're visiting.
05:24The literacy rate here is really high.
05:26I think it's 92 or 93%, which is amazing.
05:28And the population here is very small because this is the smallest union territory in India.
05:32So I think the population is around 65,000 to 70,000 people.
05:35The only way to get to Lakshadweep is either by a flight.
05:38So you get a flight from Kochi to Agathi.
05:40That's the only flight.
05:41Or you can go on a cruise.
05:50Made it to Tenakara and oh my God, it is spectacular.
05:55I don't think I've ever seen this blue water.
05:57This island right now is completely uninhabited.
06:00But earlier they did have cottages and stuff where visitors could come and stay.
06:04But I think they're renovating it now.
06:06So hopefully they'll open it up soon because oh my God, this island is beautiful.
06:25I see a bunch of people kayaking.
06:27So we may go kayaking.
06:28There are a lot of water activities here.
06:30So just like going to the water sports center to figure out what we can do.
06:33Off we go kayaking.
06:35This is so nice.
06:37So I'm going solo kayaking.
06:39I'm the only person kayaking on this entire beach.
06:42So it's kind of like a private beach, honestly.
06:45There are some people sitting here.
06:46But I'm going solo kayaking.
06:48I'm the only person kayaking on this entire beach.
06:51So it's kind of like a private beach, honestly.
06:53There are some people sitting here, but this is so nice.
07:06This is my last morning here.
07:08Just walking up to the beach.
07:10Right now we are heading turtle watching, which should be a lot of fun.
07:23This is the view from our room.
07:27How beautiful.
07:29I feel like water really does heal you.
07:31I feel so positive, grateful.
07:34And yeah, I hope this feeling really lasts when I go back home as well.
07:53Thank you for watching!
