00:00Is Brock Purdy playing? Nope. Is Nick Bosa playing? Nope. And that might be an equal
00:09concern. You threw out an interesting question a second ago, which is sort of like, which
00:15one is a bigger deal to have to play without? We'll get into that in a second. And because
00:21we want to really kind of talk that out and seize an outlook with all of you at 888-957-9570,
00:28making your phone calls right now. And we want to let you hear everything that Kyle
00:31Shanahan said today about Brock and Nick and Brandon Allen, who will start. We're going
00:38to do all of that in about 25 minutes or so. So that's all coming up. And we really want
00:42to focus on it, which means we should probably take a minute right now and fade the dibber.
00:50It's time for Fade the Dibbers. Please explain. Nostradibliss gives out his pick. You bet
00:59against it, you make money. Cash me out one time. It's that simple. Hey kids, your pick's
01:08me. Dibbs, what's the lock of the day? Well, last night they weren't just home dogs, but
01:16that is their nickname as well. And them dogs were barking. And the Cleveland Browns
01:21don't only cover, but they win the game outright. And so you are very, very much not hot. And
01:25you are not trying to get back to 500 this week either. A full two games under and that
01:30spread it's like Darren Ruff. It's on the move. The spread is on the move. Five and
01:37a half now, all the way up to five and a half with no Brock, no Nick. The Packers favored
01:43Dan. Well, I was going to say all week that if Bosa was out, I was just going to take
01:49the pack. If Bosa was in, I was going to take the Niners all the while thinking that Brock
01:53Purdy was going to play the news. Now Brock out Bosa out the spread is ballooned to five
01:59and a half, but man, I just can't, I can't put my faith in this team with a backup quarterback,
02:06even though their backs are against the wall. Green Bay also highly motivated to win five
02:10and a half is a lot, but not too much to scare me. Go pack, go. I'm going against the
02:16Niners, which is rare. I'm taking the pack and lay in the five and a half. Go pack. Go.
02:26I do enjoy that except for when they're playing the Niners. Yep. Yep. Fair enough. Um, but
02:30I'm comforted by your pick. You can take the Niners and the points. I don't have to do
02:34a damn thing. I just sit here and listen to you. I asked you a question. No, I'm staying
02:39away. Okay. You know what? When you make a pick that I firmly disagree with, you know
02:45what I do? You start clapping and cheering like a monkey. Hey, Fed, Fed, Fed, Fed. And
02:50then Grandy and Lucas are in there doing the do-si-do pumping their fists. We run around
02:55the room. You got one, right? You happy? Like a square dance in here. When, when, when you
03:01make the wrong pick and we feel it, like we feel it with our bones and our bellies. Uh,
03:06let me ask the room then. Is anybody taking the Niners and the five and a half in there?
03:10Yep. Okay, good. I love it. I love it. I mean, I hope the Niners can win and cover. I got
03:18to think about that, but I'm not running around chanting fade. I don't even know. I don't
03:23even know who the hell's playing in this football game. At minimum. Brandon Allen. Right. Is
03:28Trent Williams playing? Maybe Jalen Moore. Exactly. Right. I don't even know. This is
03:34why I in real life bet it on Monday when it was at one and a half, not expecting Brock
03:38to be out, but thinking you and I talked about it. Nick Bosa, it didn't seem like was going
03:43to be able to play. Well, I heard my other oblique and I've got now two obliques and
03:46they both hurt. So I didn't think that he'd play, which tells me you got trouble on a
03:51defense that doesn't have any of the game record. Um, I think this is actually wonderful
03:57for Nick Sorensen. Let's see you coordinate, dude. Let's see it. And I'm not like holding
04:05you to the performance when you're without your, your top players. But what I do think
04:10has to happen is you have to have a different approach. I said, yeah, like I said this to
04:16you the other day, the whole point, the whole like eye of the storm of this idea of Nick
04:24Sorensen and his vanilla ice cream is Nick Bosa. That's the whole point of the whole
04:30defense. They're rushing for cause they think they can rush for cause Nick Bosa. And by
04:36the way, the metrics will tell you they're usually right, at least for three and a half
04:41quarters. But anyway, you had those numbers the other day, Nick goes out and Seattle couldn't
04:47do a damn thing all day. Nick leaves and they did whatever they wanted.
04:50Yeah. 30 plays, 186 yards, which is 6.1 per play. Three scores on three drives, two tuds
04:57and a figure. And that's going to do it. Yeah. And that is, uh, that is 17 of their 20 points.
05:03Correct. Without Nick. And they win the football game and this offense is better. And the thing
05:08about it, about Nick Sorensen and blitzing, I don't think that they have the personnel
05:13to blitz. Maybe not, but you have to do something right. Can't just rush for and sit there with
05:19a bowl of vanilla ice cream and put your feet up and on Ottoman and go, we're good.
05:24You're not good. Well, you're allowed to, you'll lose. I agree. You'll lose. You're
05:27going against one of the best pass blocking offensive lines in football. You're going
05:32up against one of the most raw, talented quarterbacks in all of football. He can move. He's got
05:38an absolute howitzer of an arm there at home. They're motivated. They're receiving core
05:42is healthy, which is like seemingly never the case, but they are right now with Dobbs
05:47and Watson and read, they got all their things humming man. And, and so you're gonna have
05:53to do something. And, and again, I'm not gonna hold you like, Oh, you better hold the Packers
05:59under 17 points or you stink. I'm not going to do that. But like, there is a piece of
06:04me that's like, good. Can we see like, just do something, something right. Do something
06:09and let us see what you're trying because there's no way, there's no way they can just
06:15go vanilla in this game. And if they do, uh, then I think fans are absolutely right
06:21to say some things the following day. Well, they may not go vanilla, but they're not going
06:25to go full on Neapolitan or Spumoni or Jamoka almond fudge. They might go French vanilla.
06:31They might go vanilla with a dab of a chocolate chip here and there. This team is not built
06:36to do what they blitz the second least amount in the NFL and their blitz pressure percentage
06:43is in the middle of the pack. So you're not suddenly going to lose your best pass rusher
06:47and start rushing five and six all the time and have your, what your rookie and your inexperienced
06:53corners go out there on an Island. Well, it just doesn't seem to me to be the way that
06:57this team approaches. It's not, you're absolutely right. Lost his job because he blitz too much.
07:02And you also have a, you've got a healthy, talented, young receiving court. Do you want
07:07to leave all of your corners on an Island? No. Although the cornerback room is as healthy
07:12as it has been all year long. Renardo green is now up to speed. And I, my understanding
07:19is that char various ward is expected back for this game. And D Amador Lenore is a young
07:23star is ward in. No, he's out. Oh, he's out. Yep. Nevermind. Take that point and throw
07:27that in the trash too. So, um, yeah, like that's the, you're, you're right that you're
07:32not going to put those corners on an Island. And in fact, that's not the way Kyle Shanahan
07:36likes to do things anyway. Exactly. But that's my point. My point is you're in a really bad
07:42spot. So therefore to me, that's when, that's when coordinators coordinate. Yeah. You know
07:49what I mean? Desperate times call for desperate measures. You've got to go out there and do
07:56that thing. So I'm just, I'm interested to see what they try because they're going to
08:00have to try something. You want the full list, the full injury report, Tatum, Bethune out,
08:05Nick Bosa out, Jacob Cowling out, Kevin Givens out, Brock Purdy out, char various ward out
08:11John Feliciano and Trent Williams. Questionable McCaffrey and Kittle officially cleared and
08:16good to go. Oh, Kittle's in. Yeah. McCaffrey too. Well, I never thought McCaffrey was going
08:21to be out. And I'm wondering why that you two back there love the nine, not love, but
08:25are betting on the Niners plus the five and a half. Uh, the bid is called fade the Divers.
08:30Yeah. I think, I think their reason is, is you picked the Packers. No, that's great.
08:34And for a lot of people, that's all the reason they need, but they don't always jump in with
08:38both feet. Sometimes they will tiptoe. Sometimes they will kitty foot in there. I don't think
08:44they jumped in with both feet again. I didn't see arms and limbs flying around the room
08:48like we did last night when all three of us absolutely through a complete party last night.
08:56Yeah. Yeah. Because you picked the Steelers and all of us were feeling real, real good
09:00about them dogs. Yeah. Jameis Winston. I underestimated them. It was just like, you know, gut feeling
09:07the weather equalizer Thursday night coming off an emotional win for the Steelers. They
09:12don't score touchdowns even though they did score. I think one, but anyway, yeah. Oh,
09:18actually I guess they scored two then. Huh? Cause Russell Wilson had a touchdown pass
09:22too. Wow. The score two touchdowns is still lost. Yeah. Good Lord. But anyway, like I
09:28don't think anybody feels that way. No. How can you, how confident can you be in the 49ers
09:33right now? Well, I, if you want to talk about their six most important players, two are
09:38definitely not playing and a third is a game time decision. Well, let's those who are their
09:42six most important players. I would say Brock, Trent, Christian, Fred, Nick and George. Okay.
09:50That'd be my six. I mean, that's a rough six, but I think that's fair. Your quarterback's
09:54always number one and he's out. I think for the last couple of years, a lot of people
09:58would have put Debo on that list and suddenly now he's falling off. Well, he's not on the
10:02list. I wouldn't put him in the top six right now. We certainly did last year. This is not
10:06last year. And what he's done this year has not been top six worthy. In my opinion, I
10:11would even argue that Juwan is more important than Debo right now because Juwan has replaced
10:16Brandon. Brandon was more important than Debo last year. Brandon's ability to be a guy who
10:21gets open and now Juwan is doing this. Well, not by bit, not based on how things played
10:26out. I mean, the offense completely, when Debo left against Cleveland, that's what kicked
10:32that three game losing streak last year. Yeah. Yeah. Just Brandon in general, I think was
10:37a more important player, but this is more a point to say, if you don't have Trent and
10:43I said all last year that I thought he was the most important player on offense this
10:46year, maybe not as much, but you always want to have a quarterback, protect the quarterback
10:52and go get the quarterback. And you might be without all three of the critical pieces
10:56in that, uh, that computation, all three, but yeah, fade the dibber. You guys are right.
11:03Yeah. I'm not getting this one wrong. Well, again, I'm allowed to 17 and 19 is on the
11:09phone. Yeah. I mean, if I can lock it, I mean, if I can psychoanalyze you for a second and
11:13your weaknesses as a better, if you want me to, you can, you're allowed to, I can't stop
11:18you. Well, I think that a better, a better leans to favorites because they're like, Oh,
11:25well the Packers are, are the better football team. Right. But they have to cover five and
11:30a half points. Like that's not what my record is with favorites as opposed to dogs. It's
11:35a big ask. Granny, I know you have the spreadsheet, but in there, I wonder how many dogs you even
11:40picked so far this year. It's funny you say that because in my confidence pool, I noticed
11:44early on that the majority of the high scores came when the favorites were heavily like
11:50when the favorites won a lot. So I've been betting a lot of dogs in my confidence pool
11:54and I'm done very, very well. Now on the air and in the bit, I just picked the picks that
11:59we pick and I don't just try to lean dog just on principle. No, there's no principle to
12:04it. It's just funny that when people see a game like that and they're like, Oh, the Niners
12:08are hampered or the Packers are going to kill them. The Packers, Packers minus whatever.
12:14I think if you, for a lot of people, if you made the Packers an eight point favorite this
12:18weekend, they'd be like Packers. See, that gets tough for me. Five and a half is, I mean,
12:23it's, it's kind of a manageable number. It's a lot though. Yeah. What do you got? You are
12:2610 and nine when betting favorites. Okay. So that means I'm seven and 10 on dogs. That's
12:33more dogs than I would have guessed. I bet 19 favorites and 17 dogs. Yeah. Yeah. So there
12:39you go. Okay. Yeah. Apology accepted. I apologize. He tried to psychoanalyze and you were wrong.
12:44I wasn't, you've bet more favorites than dogs. Barely, but you were the way you were saying
12:48it when you were trying to portray it like I'm some sort of a favorite sycophant, somebody
12:53who just drools and floppers over favorites. I wasn't trying to portray anything. I, that's
12:58my take on what, like last night, that was what your weakness was. Yeah. Stealers to
13:04the Browns. Steelers are way better. It was clearly a Browns night. Yeah. And that was
13:09a, you know, Thursday nights are funky. And last night I admitted going in was not one
13:14that I loved either way. So, you know, you gotta make a pick. I missed that one.
