00:00After more than 10 years of diplomacy and cooperation with the Indonesian government,

00:05Mayor Jane Veloso will return to the Philippines.

00:08President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. thanked Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto

00:13for showing kindness that resulted in the return of the Philippines.

00:23President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was happy to announce that Mayor Jane Veloso will return to the Philippines

00:29after more than a decade of imprisonment in Indonesia.

00:32In a statement, the President said that this is the result of more than a decade of diplomacy and consultation with the Indonesian government

00:39that led to the delay in the execution of Veloso until an agreement was reached that he will return to the country

00:44even though there is still no conclusion as of now.

00:47According to the President, this is a difficult battle that Mayor Jane experienced after her arrest in 2010.

00:53He also pointed out that Mayor Jane's story is funny to many.

00:57A mother who was a victim of poverty who made a desperate choice that changed the course of her life.

01:04Even though she was proven to be guilty, the executive board decided that Veloso was also a victim of an accident.

01:09That is why the President thanked Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto

01:13for showing kindness that resulted in the return of Veloso to the country.

01:19It can be remembered that several times the President reduced the case of Mayor Jane

01:22to the heads of the high-ranking Indonesian officials.

01:25This is one of the proofs of the President's hard work

01:28when he attended the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia last year.

02:08that the Indonesian government did not ask for a replacement for the case of Veloso.
