00:21That is what President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. confirmed.

00:25In an interview, the President said that this is the result of more than a decade of diplomacy

00:29and consultation with the Indonesian government

00:32that led to the delay in the execution of Veloso

00:35until an agreement was reached for her to return home.

00:38According to the President, Mary Jane went through a difficult battle

00:41after her arrest in 2010.

00:44The President also pointed out that Mary Jane's story is funny to many,

00:48a mother who was a victim of poverty

00:50who made a desperate choice that changed the course of her life.

00:55Although it is proven to be wrong,

00:57the Executive Board also criticized Veloso for being a victim of poverty.

01:01That is why the President thanked Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto

01:05for showing the goodwill he showed in returning Veloso's country.

01:11He proved that it is a deep bond between the Philippines and Indonesia

01:15that is united by justice and compassion.

01:18The group of the Legal Council of Veloso considered this development a success

01:22and thanked religious groups from Indonesia and the Philippines

01:26that did not lose hope and faith in Mary Jane's fight.

01:30They also recognized the Indonesian government in their efforts

01:34and the efforts of the Philippine authorities to achieve this success.

01:38They will continue to pray until Veloso returns home

01:42along with the call to President Marcos Jr.

01:44for the clemency of their client.

01:47It can be remembered that President Marcos Jr. repeated

01:50Mary Jane's case in the prisons where she was held

01:52along with the high-ranking Indonesian official.

01:58when he attended the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia.

03:19but was saved from execution in 2015

03:22due to the temporary reprieve given by the Indonesian government.
