00:00More than 150,000 residents in the Bicol region are expected to receive relief assistance from the Camera and Malacanang.
00:10Watch this on Melalee Esmora's live news center.
00:18Angelique San, the DSWD and Malacanang are now working together to help our fellow countrymen who are affected by the following typhoons in the country.
00:27The 24 trucks that are receiving relief assistance from the Bicol region have just arrived.
00:38These relief goods trucks are part of the Bicol-Tindog-Oragon Relief Caravan
00:44of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr., former House Speaker Martin Romualdez,
00:49and Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
00:53It is expected that 150,000 beneficiaries will benefit from these relief goods,
00:59which will be distributed to 750 million pesos worth of financial assistance.
01:05According to Speaker Romualdez, this is in line with President Marquez's directive
01:10that the government will jointly assist the victims of the typhoon in the Bicol region and other parts of the country.
01:18According to him, the Bicol initiative is not only financial assistance,
01:22but it is also a symbol of the solidarity and unity of the Filipino people.
01:27According to our congressmen, the relief caravan has three major activities.
01:32Aside from relief goods distribution and financial assistance payouts,
01:36the mini Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair will also be launched in the Bicol region on November 21,
01:41where the government will provide various services to the residents,
01:46such as housing, health care, and livelihood programs.
01:51It's not just about the goods.
01:54I believe that the Speaker is waiting for the report of our district representatives
02:01on what support and assistance they need to issue funds to the House Speaker.
02:06I was informed by the Speaker.
02:08We are just waiting for the Bicol district to issue funds,
02:16such as assistance for individuals in crisis,
02:19and at the same time, the Department of Labor's duty to clean up.
02:23The Congress is ready for that.
02:26But our administration will not neglect what our President and the House Speaker are doing.
02:36They will do everything they can to help those in need,
02:40especially those in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and now in Catanduanes.
02:48Angelic, as of now, various activities are ongoing here in the House,
02:52such as hearings, and later this session, later at 3 p.m.
02:57Although other congressmen, especially those in the districts,
03:01have been severely affected by the recent typhoons,
03:03they are still continuing to provide assistance to those in need in various parts of the country.
03:08Angelic?
03:10All right. Thank you very much, Mela Lesmora.
