00:03We will talk with Regional Director Norman Laurio of DSWD Region 5.
00:10Sir Norman, good afternoon.
00:13Yes, good afternoon ma'am and good afternoon to your viewers and to our listeners here in this program.
00:23What is currently happening to distribute the assistance of President Marcos Jr. in Bicol Region and in Camarines Sur?
00:33What did our countrymen receive there?
00:37That's right. Actually, just after our beloved President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave financial assistance
00:49that is worth P10,000 to each farmers and fisher folks and to the families that were affected by the typhoon Christine.
01:03Earlier, our President gave financial assistance to P5,000 farmers, fisher folks and families in Camarines Sur
01:17and in Lalawigan ng Albay, P5,000 farmers, fisher folks and families under this Presidential Assistance for the farmers and fishermen.
01:31Aside from the Presidential Assistance, how is the relief operations of DSWD Region 5 to our countrymen and to Bicol Region?
01:43How big is the number of evacuation shelters currently?
01:50As of now, ma'am, there are more than 200, 260 evacuation centers open and there are 24,000 families in ECPA.
02:10Because of that, we are continuing our relief operations.
02:16The local government offices are open.
02:20Also here in Lalawigan ng Cam Sur, we have the PLGO of Cam Sur, other government agencies, OCD, our Philippine Coast Guard,
02:34our soldiers, especially the Philippine Air Force where we are bringing relief goods,
02:46especially to the isolated areas here in the island towns of Camarines Sur.
02:53As of now, there are still some towns here that are still submerged in flood water.
02:59The flood water is not yet subsiding.
03:09Are there still areas that do not have access to clean water in Bicol Region?
03:16What are your expectations regarding this?
03:19As of now, ma'am, all isolated areas have access to our relief operations.
03:29Our DSWD, our PLGO, as I mentioned earlier, and other government agencies.
03:38That is why with the help of the Philippine Air Force and our armed forces from Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei,
03:53their Philippine Air Force and their choppers also helped in bringing these relief goods.
04:01The DSWD has also released cash aid to our countrymen in Bicol Region.
04:09How much have we distributed to them?
04:15As of now, we have distributed almost 456,000 family food packs and non-food items to our affected Bicol people.
04:37Regarding the re-establishment of Bicol Region from the Christine Flood,
04:42what other programs have the DSWD prepositioned for our survivors and displaced people in the region?
04:52That's right.
04:54We have also provided financial assistance to those affected,
04:59such as burial assistance, cash relief assistance,
05:03to the families of the victims of the Christine Flood.
05:10For those affected, just like what our beloved President gave earlier,
05:19we have also provided financial assistance under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation or AIS, Ma'am.
