00:00Situations and developments in the aftermath of the León earthquake in Dingalan, Aurora.
00:06Let's talk with Christian June Dagasdas, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Officer of Dingalan, Aurora.
00:15Sir Christian, good afternoon to you.
00:19Yes, good afternoon to you as well and to all the listeners who are watching this afternoon. Good afternoon.
00:26Sir, how is your situation and what is the immediate impact of the León earthquake that you are facing?
00:35Yes, as of now, it's okay. The sun has already shown itself.
00:41The last few days were cloudy. Overall, our situation has improved since the León earthquake.
00:56From Monday afternoon until this morning, we had a storm signal.
01:05We experienced heavy rains and strong winds.
01:16Our rivers and creeks are at a normal level.
01:26We did not have a report of landslides or damage to infrastructure.
01:36Although the waves increased from two days ago until yesterday, now it is normal.
01:46We also had a suspension of classes because of the automatic storm signal.
01:56We also suspended tourism activities because our town is also visited by tourists.
02:08We suspended fishing as well.
02:15We also suspended liqueur ban.
02:20But now, they are lifted because we no longer have a storm signal in our town.
02:28Sir, as of now, are there any families or individuals in evacuation centers and if there are, will they be returned?
02:38As of now, ma'am, we did not have a report of evacuation compared to last Christmas.
02:46We evacuated more than 1,000 people last Christmas.
02:52But for León, we did not have a report of evacuations.
02:58Sir, you mentioned that the impact of the León earthquake was not that severe.
03:05But how is the supply of food and water?
03:11How is the communication and electricity line in your area?
03:16Yes. Regarding food and relief, we are on standby.
03:24The LGU and DSWT are also on standby.
03:30We are okay with that and it is sufficient.
03:34Regarding water, our water is also sufficient.
03:40Regarding electricity, yesterday there was a burnout.
03:44We thought that it was because of the strong wind.
03:50We thought that the wind was blowing when there was no electricity.
03:55That's when the LGU and DSWT had a problem, particularly in Cabaratuan.
04:02We lost electricity from 5 p.m. to 12 p.m.
04:09But now, we are able to get it back. It's okay.
04:13Sir, please send a message to our countrymen in Aurora.
04:19Yes. We will continue to prepare.
04:25León is still not released yet.
04:30We will continue to pray.
04:33According to the barangay's call,
04:36our countrymen are also asking if they need to evacuate
04:44or if they need to go to evacuation centers.
04:49We will continue to prepare.
04:54I hope that calamity will pass soon.
04:57Alright. Thank you very much for your time, Mr. Christian June Dagasdas,
05:02Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Officer of Dingalan, Aurora.
