00:00It has been so, so dry in the Northeast.
00:02We want the rain.
00:03We don't want any of this severe weather, though.
00:05Yeah, it's a much different story
00:06when we talk about the Northeast
00:07because instead of this active weather,
00:10I'm talking about a prolonged stretch of dry weather.
00:13We've seen more than a month in Philadelphia,
00:15Trenton, and Wilmington since any measurable rain.
00:18A little bit better for Atlantic City and Washington, D.C.,
00:21but not by much.
00:22This trend is gonna continue as we head into tomorrow.
00:25Abnormal warmth continuing.
00:27That cold front will move in
00:28and we'll see some rain associated with that,
00:30but take a look at future radar.
00:32It's really not any significant rain.
00:34We're seeing some of this move in early Friday morning,
00:37Pennsylvania, New York, up into Maine a little bit there,
00:41and then as this moves into New England,
00:44you can see we'll take what we can get,
00:45but this is definitely not making a big dent
00:48or really any dent into drought conditions
00:50and definitely not helping to reduce the fire risk.
00:53We're looking at another high fire risk for Friday
00:56because gusty winds are gonna be associated
00:58with this cold front, but then additionally, it's fall.
01:02We have leaves falling off of the trees,
01:03joining other dry vegetation on the ground,
01:06the perfect fuel for a wildfire,
01:08especially in those areas where there are drought concerns.
01:11It's also gonna be pretty warm for your Thursday,
01:14not just warm, but record-challenging highs possible
01:17in several areas, including Georgetown-Delaware there,
01:2082 is that forecasted high,
01:22beating the previous daily record by one degree there,
01:25Syracuse, New York, beating its previous record of 75
01:28by quite a few degrees there with that 81 forecasted high.
01:33We are gonna kinda see a return to fall for some areas
01:35as we head into Friday, 55 is that high for Buffalo,
01:3861 in Pittsburgh, but then as we head down
01:41towards D.C., New York, Boston,
01:42still hanging out in the 70s there.
01:44By the time we get to the weekend,
01:46that's when most areas really see a return to fall,
01:4850s for Buffalo on both days,
01:5058 in Pittsburgh on Saturday, 64 for your Sunday.
01:54Better in New York, 50s for both days there as well.
01:57And then let's take a look at your extended forecast
02:00for Philadelphia, we're on a little bit of a roller coaster
02:03when it comes to temperatures here, 82 for your Thursday,
02:05down to the 60s for the early part of the weekend,
02:08and then we go back into the 80s.
