00:00The six and two Pittsburgh Steelers getting it done at the place the Steelers play last
00:10night.
00:11Now, this was a field goal battle in the first half.
00:14It was 9-9 going to the half with both kickers making three field goals, and then finally
00:21we had a breakthrough to the end zone, but it was not the offense, Scotty, that kicked
00:25things off for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
00:27Instead, it was the special teams.
00:29Calvin Austin, who had a huge night, his first of two duties, was brought back on specials
00:34on ESPN.
00:35Because if he's got a free release and is getting into the route, but based on what
00:38he was doing, I think he just had a mental error there, not helping his left tackle.
00:44Flag is down, returned by Austin, plenty of room, great return, still rolling, flag is
00:53down, Austin into the end zone, touchdown.
00:58So I mean, this guy came up huge, the punt return for Atadi, I thought the Wilson pass
01:05to him was just money, and he had a huge game, and they continue to impress me.
01:13Look, people can say whatever they want about Art Smith, but he's getting it done.
01:18Their offense is lighting it up, they're scoring.
01:22They are scoring, they are getting the job done right now, that is for sure.
01:26Another good night for Russell Wilson, 20 of 28 for 278 yards, and Atadi, Steeler D
01:33was outstanding as well, including that strip sacks, fumble recovery from T.J. Watt late
01:39in the game off of Daniel Jones.
01:41Here is Mike Tomlin, the Steeler head coach, as always after a win, proud of his team.
01:48Man, really appreciative of our efforts.
01:51It wasn't as fluid as we'd like, man, but that's football.
01:54We've got to guard against style points and things of that nature, man, it was primetime
01:59television and football against a team that came in here with a good mindset.
02:05We shot ourselves in the foot some early, man, settling for three.
02:09We gave up a couple big plays that allowed them to generate some scoring drives, they
02:13kicked three, but I just like the overall look of the group at halftime.
02:18We acknowledged where we were, we acknowledged we needed some plays, man, to break this thing
02:21open, and I had a bunch of guys that wanted to be the reason why we were successful.
02:28They are successful, and you know what was great was watching the Ravens and Bengals
02:32lose on Sunday and watch them handle their business on Monday night as usual, 22-1 on
02:38Monday nights in Pittsburgh.
02:40That is crazy, absolutely crazy, their record on Monday night football under the lights
02:45in Pittsburgh.
02:46They just win and get it done.
02:47That was an enormous win, not only for the division, but to go into a bye like that,
02:53the way they've been playing, the Vegas win, the Jet win was even more impressive.
02:58And now this, I didn't think this was as impressive as the games in Vegas or the game against
03:04the Jets last Sunday night, but they still ended up with a W, and that's all that matters.
03:11That is all that matters.
03:12You mentioned it, 22 straight wins at home on Monday night.
03:17Steelers rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson placed on IR with a hamstring issue, not a
03:21good scene for them.
03:22Of course, on the other side of the coin, you have the Giants, who now once again are
03:27on their way to another miserable season as they sit at 2-6.
03:33And Daniel Jones, once again, good at some spots last night, but bad in others.
03:39Here is head coach Brian Dable on his quarterback.
03:43I haven't seen me personally, Daniel, that fired up.
03:47Yeah, I loved it.
03:48Yeah, loved it.
03:49Yeah.
03:50I loved seeing his competitiveness, you know, he cares, he works, works his butt off.
03:58And there's no one in this locker room that takes it harder than him, you know, just sitting
04:01down and talking and, you know, he played hard, played hard.
04:07I thought he did a lot of good things.
04:10And, you know, unfortunately, we just, you know, the end of the game there, we had a
04:13couple, a couple turnovers.
04:15But I thought he, you know, he played extremely hard, competitive, fiery.
04:23And that's what you want from your quarterback.
04:25Listen, I thought Dable did a good job last night.
04:30I thought he called a good game.
04:32I thought they moved the ball.
04:33I thought Tracy played well.
04:35I thought they had a shot.
04:37I thought in those last two possessions that they were going to score and go for two and
04:42tie the game and send it to overtime.
04:43I thought they were going to get it done.
04:45I thought that Dable had him playing well for the first time in a month.
04:51They showed signs of life and they have looked terrible in every game preceding this.
04:56I thought they looked pretty decent last night in Pittsburgh.
04:59They gave the Steelers all they could handle.
