Sheffield retro: Photos capturing 1960s and 1970s Sheffield

00:00These evocative images capture life in Sheffield city centre during the 1960s and 70s.
00:07They show a very different looking city, with the Crimean monument still standing at Moorhead,
00:12castle and sheaf markets doing a roaring trade,
00:15and cars running up and down the moor before it was pedestrianised.
00:19This retro gallery also shows the Peace Gardens before their big makeover,
00:24the famous Hole in the Road subway,
00:27and the approach to Sheffield Midland railway station without its now familiar fountains.
