Electric vehicles have surged in popularity over the last few years, and there have been concerns that charging facilities and infrastructure isn’t keeping up with the demand. Cardiff council are the latest organisation to say they will invest in EV charging over the next few years.

00:19Cardiff Council have become the latest local authority to dedicate time and money into
00:24increasing the number of charging points around the city, as part of their electric vehicle
00:28infrastructure roadmap. They plan to reach up to 700 charging points by 2026. The number
00:36is hoped to be reached partly by the council building around 100 over the next two years,
00:41along with commercial sites and properties increasing their numbers alongside that.
00:46The council have wider plans to lower carbon emissions across the city, with 41% of the
00:511.6 million tonnes of carbon currently coming from transport, so will put a heavy focus
00:56on improving in that area.
