00:00Yeah, we just want people not to have to worry about uniform, you know, and kids grow so
00:05fast that half the time they're in great condition and why bin them? Why send them to landfill?
00:11So not only are we saving landfill, we're saving the parents money having to buy something
00:16and giving it a purpose, a reuse, you know? So yeah, we're hoping we get some more. It's
00:21always there throughout the year. We always have at least one rail in the centre throughout
00:25the year, but in the summer it just duplicates because of how much we get donated, so.
00:30Emma Jane says the charity have helped plenty of people so far this summer and wants to
00:35welcome anyone who needs help with uniform to come along and see what they have. Boomerang
00:40and Pass It Forward say that anyone is welcome to donate or collect kids' uniform.
00:44Since the summer holidays, we've gone into five rails and obviously just before we started
00:50speaking a lady just turned up for her Willow's Blazer. So, you know, £35 people are trying
00:54to pay for things. That saved her £35. That's like a week's shop, you know, she can support
00:59her family. So, yeah, we've been really lucky. We've had loads of organisations, like, sending
01:02loads of brand new items. So we're asking for a pound donation if people can, but we
01:08would never turn anyone away. So all the pre-loved items, everything else is completely free.
01:14The summer holidays are exciting, but at the end of the six weeks, inevitably comes the
01:17time to buy the kids' uniform. It seems to be getting more and more expensive every year.
01:22Some schools require blazers, which can be as much as £30 to £40, which is simply too
01:27expensive for so many families.
01:29The thing is, I think you get the summer holidays, you get excited. The kids are off school,
01:33you just want to go out, you know, take the kids on day trips if you can afford it. Some
01:37people have spent a whole year so they can take their kids out. And then you get towards
01:41the end, you think, oh God, uniform time. And then some people haven't got the money
01:43because they have tried to have a bit of fun through the summer. And I think a lot of schools
01:48have like logos, which can be expensive. So I think that's the financial burden there.
01:54And they've got to have the logo, they've got to have the branding for the school. So
01:57it's just so expensive.
