00:00Okay, week three will start tomorrow night in the Swamp, Jersey for the Patriots and
00:10the Jets.
00:11The opening week three game, first home game for the Jets after going 1-1 on the road.
00:15And of course, Scotty, it is Aaron Rodgers' first appearance back at MetLife Stadium since
00:21he was injured in the week one game a year ago.
00:24What memories he has of that night?
00:26And Aaron is very excited to hopefully give the Jet fans a much different experience
00:30this time.
00:31What are your anticipations for what it will be like Thursday night?
00:32Yeah, I'm going to feel good about it.
00:33It's been a long time since I took the field at JetLife, so there will be a lot of emotions
00:42for sure.
00:43Thankfully, we're already into the third game of the season, played two full games, body
00:48feels good.
00:49About as good as it can on a short week, but it will be fun to be out there with the crowd.
00:57I love night games.
00:58I'm excited about it.
00:59No one's real crazy about Thursday games, but everybody loves the weekend after the
01:04Thursday games.
01:05Listen, let's calm down here.
01:09This story about him playing in his first game at a Snoopy since the Achilles.
01:14He has a better chance of getting cancer playing in that dump in the middle of a swamp and
01:20getting food poisoning from the, like, I mean, they pulled a popcorn out of the closet at
01:24that place from four years ago.
01:26I mean, you have no idea about stale until you've gone to a game at this place.
01:32I won't even touch food in that stadium.
01:34I've been to that stadium.
01:35I've already learned my lesson the hard way.
01:38I want nothing to do with it.
01:39I wouldn't go there if you paid me.
01:41The only way I went there was with a handicap placard in my car, front row seats to the
01:47Rolling Stones.
01:48You couldn't get me to go to a Jet or a Giant game if you gave me a thousand dollars.
01:54You'd have to give me a hundred thousand to go to a game there.
01:57It's the worst place on Earth.
01:59And somebody said it once on this network that made the most sense to me.
02:03There's one exit.
02:04There's one exit.
02:05It is a cluster of getting out of that place like no other place on Earth.
02:11And I mean, we used to go over and do that show and the member at the FanDuel Sportsbook.
02:18I mean, I wanted to gouge my eyes out in that building.
02:21I don't care what anybody says.
02:24I really don't.
02:25Like, I mean, honestly, the things I've seen in that building, the things I have seen in
02:29that bathroom in that building, I've had nightmares.
02:32I've had to see a shrink over the things I've seen in that building.
02:35I don't care what anybody says.
02:36I ate food in there.
02:37Christ, I had to pray to God I'd make it home.
02:41I thought I'd be poisoned.
02:44And I have never seen a place in my life.
02:47You got it.
02:48You're going to hear me quote.
02:49I have never seen a place in my life where you literally we were talking about it before
02:53in Atlanta, in New York.
02:55It's different in Atlanta.
02:56You might get offered crack in the parking lot in New York.
03:00I mean, I was there for six months and like nine people were murdered in the parking lot
03:04because everyone thinks they're coming out of there with bags of money.
03:08It's like the murder gangland style, like they they drive around the parking lot with
03:13submachine guns, killing people that come out of the sportsbook.
03:16And don't even tell me I'm wrong because I'll pull the stories.
03:23Nobody's going to dispute anything that you just said.
03:26There's nothing to dispute.
03:28It's not ideal situation.
03:32That's for sure.
03:33I like how they tell you to take public transportation.
03:34That's even worse.
03:36That train is even worse trying to get out of that.
03:39But you think you're driving out of it's bad.
03:41Oh, yeah.
03:42Rain is bad, too, as well.
03:44All right.
03:45The Jets are minus six and a half here for this home opener, a Thursday night game.
03:49The total is now thirty eight and a half for this one.
03:54I think me and you have been on the same page with this all week.
03:58We like what we've seen from the Patriots so far in terms of they're going to try to
04:02control this game a little bit and be able to stick around within that six and a half
04:07points.
04:08It is rather meaty, isn't it?
04:11Meat on the bone.
04:12The New York on the bone steak.
04:15I think, look, the only way they cover is if they don't turn the ball over and they
04:20play smash mouth defense and capitalize on any mistakes that the Jets might make a hit
04:26and a fumble, a pick, a tip and a pick.
04:29They got to take advantage of the Jets mistakes because I don't think Rogers makes a lot of
04:35them.
04:36Right.
04:37So I could easily see Rogers beating them by seven.
04:41And what I want to happen is the Patriots to cover the six and a hook.
04:47That's what I want to happen.
04:48But I'm not sure it's going to happen because let's face facts, Aaron Rogers against Jacoby
04:55Brissett.
04:56I mean, you got to be kidding me.
04:57This is like on paper.
04:59Just the thought of it is ten points to me.
05:01Just the thought of it is the Jets by ten.
05:05There's one thing that that worries me about this game from the from the Patriot perspective.
05:11They haven't had a situation yet this year where they're down multiple scores, right?
05:17They played from ahead in Cincinnati.
05:19They held the ball the whole time.
05:21They controlled the clock.
05:22The Seahawks game was back and forth.
05:24Nobody was ever up by more than a score.
05:26They could still play their game.
05:28I'm worried that if they get down 10, 14 points early in this game and they have to try to
05:35change the way that they've played over the first few weeks and suddenly, like you said,
05:40then Jacoby Brissett becomes a thrower of the football.
05:44And that's probably not something that you want.
05:46So that's the scenario, Scotty, that makes me a little nervous when it comes for the
05:51Patriots.
05:52You're probably right.
05:53I don't think that's good.
05:54That's not going to be a fun situation for them.
05:55They need to control this game and keep it low scoring.
05:58Listen, I think the Jets have a lot of the right pieces in place to be a good team.
06:04I think they need to get Hassan Redick signed.
06:07I think they have treated that like it's heartburn or something.
06:12And instead of the seriousness of it, they've treated it like all they need is a couple
06:16tums and that worries me.
06:19But they are a good team on paper and on the field.
06:22We've seen them look good.
06:25I didn't think they looked good against the Niners.
06:26I thought they looked good against the Titans.
06:29They won the game.
06:30They had a running game.
06:31They had a passing game.
06:32They did it all.
06:33We know they're better than the Patriots now, but through the years, the Patriots have given
06:38them fits.
06:39I don't know about through the years if that's going to do the Patriots any good tomorrow
06:44night.
06:45I think this Jet team, it smells to me like they're going to win some games and they're
06:49going to win it either way.
06:51Some weeks they could do it with Rodgers and other weeks they can do it with defense.
06:54I don't think the Pats had that luxury.
06:56I don't care one iota about the Patriots having problems.
07:02If they were to lose every week, I could sleep well at night.
07:06As you know, I don't like them.
07:07I can't stand them.
07:08I don't care about the Celtics, the Patriots, the Red Sox, the Bruins.
07:12I hate them all.
07:13So I don't care what you think of me either.
07:15You're entitled to hate my guts.
07:17Have at it.
07:18And I'd rather have you hate me than dislike me.
07:19I mean it.
07:20I don't care if they lose.
07:21In fact, I could live with Mafia's team winning by 10 or 20.
07:25I don't care.
07:26I think the league would be better.
07:27I think the AFC would be better, frankly, if the Jets were good.
07:32If they have a good season and they are a problem and they are a seeded playoff team,
07:37I think it's going to be exciting.
